The past month or so I've been notable absent from the site, which put a pretty large halt to our continuous updates we had coming out, my apologies for that, there were a lot of things running very well and hitting the internal deadlines and then, poof, it stopped.

I felt weird saying something about it but I also feel weird not saying something about it so I'm going to say something about it and intentionally keep it vague. I've had some pretty intense shit come up in my personal life and I'll be honest with y'all, it's been destroying me pretty damn good. I'm hoping I can get back on the train, at least slowly, this week, so we can continue our goal of pushing out great updates and to continue our re-commitment to Hearthstone that I previously spoke about.

Wounds certainly heal with time, we'll see how that goes.

Happy Hearthstone Violet Hold release day everyone!

Today we're putting out the second largest site update of the year - the first being our major redesign. There is a ton of stuff that is a part of it and I'm sure folks will find something that doesn't work quite right so be sure to let us know what doesn't feel good in the comments.

Some of the things in these patch notes were released over the prior two weeks, so if you've already seen them, don't worry, you aren't going crazy.

Let's jump right into it.

PRO

• Fixed the incorrect price displaying on the PRO page.

  • Previously this was showing some bad math and it made it look way more expensive than it actually was.

• PRO is the Out of Games premium feature. It removes ads when you browse which gives you a way better experience and it opens up more XP earns for your activity, points for our upcoming website cosmetic shop revamp, and is the best way you can support the site. Our cheapest plan is a year of Out of Games PRO for $15 CAD (which is around $11 USD). We don't have a subscription, it's a pay once and we won't charge you again until you decide to renew.

• Note that anyone who has previously been PRO and no longer has an active membership will be receiving an on-site message and email detailing the cheaper price point and how you can reactivate. We will also send you messages when your plan is about to run out as a reminder. Thank you to everyone who has supported Out of Games / Out of Cards / HearthStation in the past. You're seriously awesome for that and it is with your help that we've been able to come as far as we have. To think how little we had when the site first came online all those years ago... wild stuff!

General

Search

• Realms can now be searched

• Added a new feature which allows you to quickly activate site search with your keyboard. By hitting "Ctrl+K" ("CMD+K" on macOS) on your keyboard, the site search will highlight and give you a box in the center of your screen to start looking for things.

• More searchable things are coming in our next deployment. Stay tuned!

Collection Managers

• We have a brand new feature on the site for collection management. Our original collection management feature was... it existed.

• You can see your collection stats, add and remove cards, see your favourite cards, and even create binders (PRO).

• You can make parts of your collection public so that anyone can see the cards you've collected. If you want to show off your golden card collection for mages, you could make a custom binder for that.

• Note that binders are primarily a PRO feature, but everyone can create a binder to play around with it and share a smaller subset of their cards.

TCG Decks

• A large part of Out of Games has been the ability to share decks with other members of the community and the public. What if you don't want something to be public though? We now support three visibility options for your decks:

  • Public: Everyone on the site can see them, they will appear in listings.

  • Private: No one on the site can see them, you can share them with specific members.

  • Unlisted: Anyone that knows the URL can view your deck, does not appear in listings.

• Do note that staff can always see your decks. Anyone trying to do anything funny will get a swift banhammer (like spamming our database with nonsense).

Member Profiles

• Removed the Decks tab and replaced it with Creations.

  • Different types of guides you create will appear here now for others to find. That includes right now decks for various card games and for staff, our literal guides.

  • We only show a specific type of guide when you have created a guide for that thing already. So if you have no Hearthstone Decks, that won't appear in your profile.

Guides

• Comments no longer span the entire width of the website.

RSS

• RSS feeds are now detectable again in our site markup on news feeds if you use an RSS reader.

Advertisements

• Added a new siderail ad that will display on higher desktop resolutions on non-full width pages.

  • Currently testing the slot for the next 2-4 weeks to see how it improves our monetization.

• Fixed an issue where ads were causing layout shifts at the top of the site as they loaded in which was an awful experience. Yes, ads are still an awful experience. You can join Out of Games PRO for a low yearly cost if you want to support us <3

Deckbuilders

• We have a bunch of new deckbuilders. Looking forward to feedback on them to help change the way we integrate with each specific card game. Most builders right now are quite "generic".

Social Media

• We have resumed posting to our social media accounts when new news articles are written, though we will likely be posting other things too! Follow us on X, Bluesky, and Facebook.

Newsletter

• We are starting up our newsletter again, though we are targeting daily instead of weekly digests. You can opt-in via account management.

• I don't expect this to be immediately daily as we tweak things and test stuff out over the next week or two, but afterwards we're going full steam ahead.

Arcade

• You can now rate games on the arcade.

  • This is a rating for the game as a whole, not just that day's unique game (in the case a game has daily games like our "dle" style games.

Hearthstone

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Decks

• Decks with 0 cards will no longer appear in listings.

Deckbuilder

• You can now press "/" on a keyboard to gain focus of the search box within the deckbuilder interface.

• Azalina Soulsever now correctly restricts deckbuilding to 20 cards.

Collection Manager

• Moved over the old collection manager to our new one.

• Do note that we have some work to do for Signature and Diamond cards still. That part of our card database needs some serious work.

• Originally I wanted this to go live with the previous Hearthstone expansion and most of the work was done for it, but my personal life got flipped upside down for a few months and so it got put on the backburner.

• Do note as well that currently our HSDT plugin is still not working. I'm going to be taking a look at that soon because we should be able to have automatic imports of your cards. There is also a dedicated Out of Games desktop application in the works though as well which will have this functionality (and for other games).

Data Importer

• We now automatically import basic Hearthstone patch data without the involvement of humans. Woo automation! This isn't the full picture, but expect very fast updates now when patches hit and there are data changes.

  • Long-term I'm looking to get more automated aspects out of Hearthstone patches so we can be the fastest to update our data.

• Fixed issues that were preventing data imports from non-client sources (battlenet) during card reveal period.

LEgends of Runeterra

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Deckbuilder

• Rebuilt using our new deckbuilding technology so that you can once again create decks for Legends of Runeterra.. not that anyone asked for it.

  • This was one of those things that was never migrated over to the new site, so I'm glad to have it for the sake of history.

• Moved over the old collection manager to our new one.

Data Importer

• Modernized our data importer.

Marvel Snap

• Added a new realm for Path of Exile 2.

  • Previously we were sharing the POE realm for 1 and 2 but decided in this case, they needed to be separate due to our tool and database integrations.

• Added listings for gems, items, and uniques. These are all quite early and based on initial datamining so we're still working on improvements to them.

• Our ultimate goal is to add in build guides for Path of Exile 2 and to support imports from Path of Building 2.

Hello everyone. We are on the halfway month of the year already. Happy Pride Month everyone. I'm celebrating as we speak with my profile picture.

I've started EA Sports WRC, and after some driver updates, and a bit of luck, surprisingly I can actually run the game. I realize that my strategy of buying the game and hoping my computer can run it is not a great one, but it hasn't failed me yet so far. I definitely need a new computer though. One with more than 8GB of RAM and 475GB of storage space.

I'm representing Out of Games with my team logo.

And thus, I also tried to do something that I don't normally do. I've played around with this in other games before, but for the first time in any meaningful capacity... try to use the livery editor in a game. I don't usually touch on this because most people who know me know that my artistic ability is 0, but I went ahead to try to represent the Out of Games color scheme on the car.

If you're wondering who H. Morisoto and C. Supra are supposed to be, then they're both original characters I've been workshopping my brain for a long time. I actually took a playwriting class a while ago, and wrote a play about two race car drivers and these two are them.

• Comments

  • Users can once again upload images in their comments.

    • If you are under level 5, you are capped at 10 images uploaded.

    • There are no limits, but if you start using us as a personal image hosting service, your images will be deleted and you will be banned. Normal users don't need to worry about this.

  • Added a new call to action for logged-out users to come and join the community.

• Web App

  • Updated the logo to use our site logo instead of Derpcorn for phone screens.

• Editor

  • You can now highlight text and quickly make it bold, italicized, underlined, or linked.

  • The comment editor no longer loads on pages by default, instead, you now must click on "Join the conversation".

    • Mobile users, you get to tap.

    • When clicking this, the editor automatically gets selected.

  • Added tooltips to describe the upvote, downvote, and likes buttons.

  • Clicking notifications now marks them as read like the old version of the website.

  • Small tweaks to the about section, now only shows 6 Reps instead of all.

  • Logged-in users will no longer see the bottom anchor ads.

    • This is a tough one because that ad slot is our best performing one, but it interferes with the ability to do modern bottom-of-the-page things too much on mobile.

    • We haven't show anchor ads to logged-in desktop users for years.

    • So yeah, create and account and join our community and you'll see one fewer advertisement.

Realms

• Navigation

  • Realm navigation can now be clicked for the main navigation item (Like Cards for Hearthstone) as one would expect a good navigation to be able to do.

  • Headers on mobile now are more seamlessly integrated into the design.

• Threads

  • Reworked the thread creation experience to work better on mobile and modernize it on desktop.

  • Redesigned the look of thread detail views to integrate better into the page and more closely match other content on the website.

  • Updated the Edit, Delete, and Move views to our modern interface.

Hearthstone

• Made tweaks to the expansions navigation to bring it up to date and flow better.

• The deck widget on mobile no longer overflows to the right of the website.

  • Also made the class icon smaller, it was taking up a lot of space.

Deep in the desert of Vul'dun, there exist a group of people specifically adapted for the desert. These people has little to no premanent home, moving from place to place. Now with the Alliance and the Horde expedition to Zandalar, these people are ready to join the world

Hero and Hero Power

Hero Power and Upgraded Hero Power:

The hero for this class is the leader of the Devoted Sethrak Vorrik - the main NPC of the Sethrak WoW players interact with during their time exploring Zendalar. Their Hero Power is another 1 cost Hero Power that give them not only sustain and minion healing but also activate their main gimmick: Moving minions and minion positioning, as befitting their nomadic nature of not staying permanently in one place for too long.

Class Exclusive Keyword: Migrate

Their exclusive class keyword plays into the fantasy of the class of not having a permanent home and on the move constantly. Migrate is a minion / location / dormant structures (that will be explored further in the future sets) keyword allow you to have a bonus whenever this minion is moved by an effect (so that means natural minion shuffle like whenever a minion die or being removed by a removal / board clear doesn't count).

• Sethrak and Vulpera - two of the main species living in the Zandalar desert
• Moving minions and minion positioning

Example cards:

• Multiple spell school - the class play with 4 spells school - much more than the usual classes Fire, Holy, Shadow and Nature, representing the complex relationship between the people and the natural desert. They will have a big pay off for these multi spell school in the Core and Supplemental set.

Example cards:

• Mirages - temporary 0/3 minions that has Charge and is destroyed at the end of their owner's turn. This not only help with activating Migrate cheaply but also helps against Control match ups where the enemy will typically has 1 or even 0 minions on the board. These Mirages are also crucial to activate the class's tribal Beast and Elemental synergy.

• Elemental and Beasts synergy - living with the desert environment is a harsh life. Sand Elemental at every corner threaten the Nomadic people. Luckily the Nomadic not only master and command those Sand Elementals but also raising and taming beasts like Pterrodax and Hyena to help them survive

• The class is divided into two main playstyles: a token aggressive decks that focusing on summon cheap Charge temporary minions and then buff them or maintain them on the board through other effects and a late game minion combo oriented deck that move key Migrate minions multiple times

That's a word I bet you probably didn't know. I found it while looking for a J adjective, and it describes the beauty of a woman with a figure resembling the Roman goddess Juno.

For this month, not much has changed. But at the end of last month's thread, I mentioned becoming more of a Stardewer by the second. I'm currently on the degenerate strategy of crafting 99 staircases to get to level 100 of Skull Cavern. On the topic of Stardew, I've been seeing some friends of mine playing Sun Haven, which I know is another farming game, although it seems that the game has come under some controversy due to the creator's lack of payment towards the artists.

I haven't played my PS5 in like months. Hopefully I get back to it.

This month is also my birthday month, and it happens to be during the Steam sale too! I love my birthday so much. It and Christmas are almost exactly 6 months apart from each other, so I get a celebration every half year.

I got gifted Meccha Chameleon early, and I'm really excited to finally play it with the friends.

  • This is accessible on the homepage and displays the previous 50 messages.

  • You are allowed to send messages if your account is level 7 or higher.

  • Abusing the shoutbox will result in a ban from the shoutbox.

WHiteout Surival

• Gift Codes can now be added by anyone who is logged-in and has a character claimed.

  • This allows the community to add codes before we get to it. Thank you to everyone who is helping us out by finding codes!

• Now introducing the Out of Games Arcade, a place to play games on Out of Games!

• Currently, our Wordle-style games are available here for play, but more cool games are coming in the future.

  • Note that these are still on our activities page, but we will be promoting them through the Arcade more.

• Notifications

  • Changed how we deliver notifications on the website to be more optimized.

  • You can now customize your notification preferences in your account management.

  • Email notifications are available, turn them on if you so desire!

  • Browser notifications are now available.

    • If you are using iOS and using a browser, this will not work. Thanks Apple! Instead, you have to install Out of Games as a "Progressive Web App". We've added a mention of this on the notifications panel for users on iOS.

    • To add Out of Games to your Home Screen, you need to "Add to Home Screen" which can be found in the "Share" menu of your favourite browser.

• Comments

  • You can now like comments! Again, technically.

    • Previously we allowed upvoting and dowvoting comments.

    • When we did the site redesign, we removed voting on comments entirely.

    • Now it is back as a positive-first like feature instead. I don't know if we will always keep it as likes, some people sometimes do deserve to be downvoted, but for now we test positivity over negativity for commenting.

  • We once again show the number of comments left on news articles on the homepage article cards.

• Editor

  • Tables are easier to insert and adjust, with new editor-specific styles.

    • You can now use the @ symbol to mention a user and give them a notification. Sup @Nirast @sinti @Demonxz95 @FrostyFeet @Noxious

• RPG

  • Banned users should no longer appear on leaderboards.

• Backend

  • Several updates to the big parts of code that run the website to gain some performance enhancements.

• Dle Games

  • Added link icons beside the names of picked objects so you can go visit them in the database.

  • Fixed the guess number being ordered incorrectly.

  • Updated the display that gives you the game results when it is over.

  • WILD: Fixed an issue where core set cards were included that were from older sets.

    • We only want to show you the oldest version of a card for the wild format. It doesn't make sense to show you Chillmaw twice! Thanks to Nirast for making me realize we did need to keep the Legacy set.

Welcome to "the big one". This is a compilation of all of our changes that have gone out to Out of Games over the past couple of months, and some that escaped patch notes even before that! This is long, possibly boring, but it is well worth reading if you want to gain some knowledge in what's been changing.

Staff

Normally I don't talk about the staff-specific updates in these threads, but I wanted to make an announcement that we've put a significant amount of effort into retooling our common workflows to modernize them and provide a better user experience for us.

Personally, I'm able to create content much faster now with our new article and guide tools, and I know other staff members have been happy about improvements to the workflow - though some are still using older tools still as the newer ones mature.

My personal favourite addition is we now have drafts and autosave. You'd think a website that was so focused on content would have had these on day 1. Nope. And it's already saved my bacon a few times!

General

• New Editor

  • TinyMCE is no longer the default editor on Out of Games.

    • You will still find it on any pages that have not been converted to the new website theme. These are very few.

  • We have a custom version of TipTap now powering our content creation tools and commenting.

  • This is a much more modern editor, and everything is more customizable for us.

  • Markdown shortcuts work reliably.

  • You can use a "/" character to pull open a menu to quickly format content.

  • Better live previews - check out quotes and images!

    • Quotes are super duper awesome now. Trust!

  • Autocorrect suggestions actually work now.

  • Syntax highlighting while you are in code mode, along with prettified code. Wooo!

• Fluffy Filters

  • This is our internal name for the filtering system that powers card listings, deck listings, and all kinds of listings.

  • A complete rewrite to focus on performance.

  • No longer do we load in all data for fields on page load, improving the page performance.

  • Filters are now on the left-side of the page on larger displays instead of on top, improving user experience.

• YouTube videos now correctly embed again.

• Added a page for our Editorial Standards.

• Added an About Us page.

• Reintroduced spoilers.

  • These were gone for a moment!

• Comments that are deleted and spammed (staff only!) have updated styles to make it more obvious what their status is.

• Child comments now have correct indentation.

• Improved performance of pagination site-wide.

• Pagination is more consistently styled across types of content.

• Reimplemented countdowns.

• Added a new version of lightbox, our gallery script.

• Fixed an issue where structured data on comments was incorrect. This is for search engines.

• Fixed comments being unable to be edited.

• Fixed replying to comments showing an ugly, unstyled chunk of comment until the page was refreshed.

• Fixed comment buttons sometimes not appearing.

Realms

• We can now easily force refreshes of caches for the realm navigations.

• Realm navigations can now be managed by staff members in a much cleaner UI, allowing us to make very quick updates.

• Navigation on mobile now uses a drawer to improve the user experience.

• Headers are now more condensed on mobile so they don't take up so much screen space.

Hearthstone

• Misc updates for Cataclysm expansion.

• Rarity colors have returned to card links.

• Tooltips work again! Sorry that we didn't have these immediately with the new website theme.

• Decks

  • New theme migration.

  • Decks have received a major style overhaul on both the listing and detail pages.

  • You no longer have to scroll far down the page to read comments, now you can read them beside the deck list (unless there are a ton of them!)

  • Condensed buttons into share and settings dropdowns to clean up the interface.

    • These are not commonly used, so it makes sense to add a tiny bit of friction for their use. It makes pages look cleaner.

  • Rewrote the mana curve feature.

  • Added a "Test Your Mulligan" feature that allows you to draw a sample hand from the deck and mulligan cards away. Give it a try!

  • Deck embeds look the sexiest they ever have.

• Cards

  • New theme migration.

  • A major style overhaul in how these pages are constructed vs the old versions.

  • Card images now show as Normal first and then buttons appear to switch between the various cosmetic types if they exist.

  • New Legality feature showcases what formats a card can be played in.

  • Explore card pages to learn more about them.

  • Hearthstone's internal DBF and String IDs now appear on the card pages.

    • These aren't useful for the vast majority of people but they might help someone, they certainly help us debug cards, and they may show up in search engines more easily if people ever need to search for the ids.

  • Note that many of the newer cards don't have audio data. We are working to improve our card data importer to start extracting this data from Hearthstone again so all card pages can be as beautiful as can be.

  • Fixed issues where tooltips for cards would load the card page itself instead of the tooltip creating a messy experience.

• Deckbuilder

  • Brand. Spanking. New.

  • Everything is completely rewritten.

    • The deckbuilder has gone through so many iterations of rebuilding before being released to the public.

    • Our old deckbuilder was very basic and when Hearthstone started getting more complicated, we couldn't augment it to make it fit the new game.

  • This new deckbuilder is built upon a generic set of features which will enable us to build other deckbuilders for card games much easier.

  • Specialized card interactions are now supported to make deckbuilding more Hearthstone-like:

    • Prince Renathal updates the maximum card count to 40.

      • Not new but the way we handle this is!

    • E.T.C., Band Manager now has support so you can build his warband!

    • Reno Jackson and other Highlander cards now warn you when you add more than 1 copy of a card to your deck.

    • Baku the Mooneater now automatically filters the deckbuilder by Odd cost cards.

    • Genn Greymane now automatically filters the deckbuilder by Even cost cards.

    • Tourist Cards are now fully supported.

      • When you add a Tourist card to the deck, a new tab will appear with cards that can join this tourist.

      • If you remove the tourist, the cards that were in the deck from this new set of cards are also removed.

    • Fabled Cards are now fully supported.

      • When you add a Fabled card to your deck, the tokens associated with the card will also be added into the deck list.

    • Zilliax Deluxe 3000 is now supported.

      • Yeah, too little too late on this once considering rotation. But it proves how much more flexible our new deckbuilder is.

      • If Blizzard adds any other cards like this in the future, we're able to support it trivially.

    • Twist Mode support!

      • This was very easy for us to implement, we'll have to wait and see if Blizzard ever brings it back.

      • For now, it is disabled until a new season begins.

      • Similar tech will be able to be used for Tavern Brawl, but we have not yet implemented that one.

  • When you add 4 or more of a tribe/race or a particular spell school, the deckbuilder will suggest that you filter by this type.

    • Its completely optional, and you can easily undo it when you click the new "Show Me" button for these suggestions.

    • This will only show you one tribe/race and one spell school suggestion; It's whichever one has the highest count in your deck.

    • Just a fun little feature that can help make finding synergies easier for players of all types.

• Card Backs

  • New theme migration.

  • Additional updates are planned for the future.

  • As of posting, we know some card backs are missing. The next Hearthstone patch will solve this problem.

• Card Pack Opener

  • New theme migration.

  • Rewrote the frontend code to make it slightly more fancy.

• Secrets Calculator

Guides

• Moved to the new site theme.

• Now support a sidebar which shows you the different sections within a guide and other guides in the same category.

  • This allows us to make guides more concise while allowing easy one-click access to other related information.

  • The sidebar is hidden on smaller screens and on mobile, you can show it with a simple click of the sidebar button.

  • This went through three different iterations on the live website, quite happy with the current one.

Other Card Games

Other card games that have seen support on the website in the past have all been migrated over to our new theme systems. They still need some more love though, so expect that to come in the future.

There is still a lot more to come and I will be sure to post patch notes more often so everyone can follow development closer. Considering potentially doing weekly reports on site updates instead of daily, but we'll wait to see how it goes. The goal right now is to ship updates as soon as they are ready which means the site could see half a dozen updates over the course of a day.

Hello everyone. It's a new month. What are you all up you? There's not much in the ways of new games for me, but what I have been doing is making progress on my custom Hearthstone year, Year of the Serpent.

The Eldritch Fate (Set 1) - Lazul predicts (or more accurately, manifests) a terrible tragedy for everyone with her skills as a fortune teller and her corrupted tarot deck. - All 22 cards of the Major Arcana have been adapted into Hearthstone cards. When there's Lazul involved, you can bet that the Old Gods are only a step away from spreading havoc across all of the land. Foretell is a new mechanic that gives you the option to place a card in your hand on top of your deck to activate an optional bonus effect. With the dark, disturbing sounds and stories constantly beaming around in your head, Echo has come back for the entirety of the standard year and all three sets will use it.

Last, but certainly not least is the new Aberration minion type, and their gimmick is that they copy the gimmicks of every other minion type. Some of them have the "holding a Dragon" condition. Some of them have the "if you played an Elemental last turn" condition, etc etc, you get the idea. A secondary gimmick is that they also have two effects chosen at random, but are worth roughly equal amounts of mana (i.e Upside Down Mothergate) because they're a bit chaotic.

Ascent of the Redemption Peaks (Set 2) - Throughout Hearthstone's many years, there have been several archetypes and class mechanics that have failed to make any real impact on the game and/or were abandoned by the developers. Archetypes like Freeze Shaman, No-Spell Mage, and Heal Druid. Left in the dust long ago when people stopped caring about them. Some of them died after the first wave of support, never to be returned again. Each class represents a past archetype or mechanic in the class that the team doesn't support anymore and give them one more chance at glory.

Those who seek a new chance at fate climb Mount Everset, a mountain known to have magical properties, and legend has it that those who reach the top of the mountain will reach enlightenment and change the course of their life itself. Kaytu is a pandaren monk who lives on the mountain whose job it is to help guide climbers on their journeys to the top. He knows better than anyone that everyone and everything has a story to tell. Legacy is new keyword that gives you a second Hero Power with the base card's effect when you play it. It expires after one use, but if you play more Legacy cards, their Legacy effects will stack onto your existing Legacy Hero Power. The mountain range also has stories to tell all around it, with each class getting a Sidequest that summons a location when it's completed.

Jackpot at Casino Rafaam (Set 3) - After the League of EVIL disbanded, Rafaam sought new job opportunities, and opened his own casino in the process. Casino Rafaam became the most popular gambling paradise across all the lands, though given Rafaam's past evil nature, we wouldn't put it past him if this was part of a scheme. As you'd expect from a casino run by Rafaam though, the fairness is a bit questionable. Cards with Marked are visible to you while they're on top of your deck. From here, you can either pay 1 mana to draw them or play them straight from the top of your deck as though it were in your hand. If you're feeling really lucky, there's a secondary Raise mechanic which puts an effect into a prize pot and if you win, you get the effects Raised into the prize pot. There are only a few of these cards, but feel free to use them if you feel like high-rolling.

Where is Rafaam in this? He's not only running the casino, but he's also gathered some of his Ethereal friends to help run the place up. Ethereals are a new minion type coming to Hearthstone in this set. As traders and collectors of all sorts of weird items, Ethereals are largely about giving you extra cards. Lots of Ethereals have effects that draw cards or create them into your hand, and if a card was put there specifically by an Ethereal, it may have an additional synergistic bonus.

Reelfest

• Fixed an issue with Realm Waters not having fishable fish.

The latest edition has unveiled the story of the year: Clickbait Tycoon has been officially announced!

Check out the store page to get your wishlists on and to learn more about the game. Clickbait Tycoon was supposed to be a smaller-scale game in the Out of Games Arcade but grew into something larger that simply required a full release on Steam.

Thank you to everyone who helped provide feedback and tested during our closed alpha and got us to this point so that we could launch into Early Access. There are still some systems that need more work which is why the game is entering EA, but it is is expected that we will have the game feature complete in 6-12 months.

A 10% discount will be available at launch, so August 21 through August 28 is your time to pickup Clickbait Tycoon at a great deal. We will be increasing the price when we leave early access and we will let everyone know in advance of that happening.

Activities

• Added new activity types!

  • Mini Crossword - A 5x5 grid crossword puzzle.

  • Picture Crossword - Draw a picture given numerical clues.

  • Memory Match - Match the pictures up in pairs to complete the game.

  • Word Ladder - Start with one word and change one letter at a time to end at another word.

• Do note that although we support all of these now, we will be adding new activities with these types over time. We could dump a ton of new activities, but it's better for us to drip them out.

Arcade

• We now have a lobby system to find other people to play multiplayer on-site games with.

• Multiplayer games on Out of Games require you to be logged-in to an account in good standing to play.

• Lobbies have chat, as do our multiplayer games. You don't have to use it, but it can be fun to banter with your opponents.

  • Do note that like everything else on the site, chat is logged. Anyone breaking our rules on the site will have their permissions to participate restricted or will face account bans.

• Added our first multiplayer game: Loot Drop.

  • It's Connect 4.

Hearthstone

• Fixed an issue preventing game data imports due to Hearthstone's updated Unity version.

RPG

• Added more behind the scenes stuff for skills.

  • It's almost like this fishing thing is leading to something grand...

I'll add in, many years ago we had detailed this system for our winter on-site event and it was quite extensive in what we wanted to do. It was ultimately way too much work to make happen and there is a reason we rolled out a leveling system on the site earlier this year.

This year, we're going to be doing something very similar during December and January and over the next few months we will be growing towards it.

Seasons

• Fixed Arcade Hour daily challenge so it now correctly fires upon completing two arcade activities.

• Arcade Hour now can be completed even if you fail to successfully complete dle games.

• Manually fixed Arcade Hour for people who should have already earned it today.

To start off, I finished Easy Delivery Co., and I have a review of it right here (go read it!). I'm still grinding out that achievement on Super Woden GP.

I tried to play Denshattack, but then found out that my old computer can't play it. Learn from my mistake and read the required specs of the game before impulse buying it.

I'm slowly, but surely working my way through my backlog. I have a shit-ton of motorcycle racing games that I need to play. I'm currently on MotoGP 15.

A few updates have been pushed out this morning for our Reelfest seasonal event.

Seasons

• Fixed an issue where fishing icon was on top of the scavenger hunt icon.

• Added a "GO" button to daily challenge prompts to help guide people to the correct location (these are in activities).

• Fixed an issue where water balloon buttons were not appearing on user comments.

• Fixed bad styling on mobile devices for the Tackle Log.

August reels in the first-ever season on Out of Games!

For those of you who were around "back in the day", you'll remember Oozefest and Snowpocalypse, two on-site events that we'd run on a yearly basis around Halloween and Christmas. Reelfest is a new imagining of the events system which we are now calling Seasons.

Seasons

Seasons are a monthly occurrence which brings something new and fun to Out of Games. The current plan is to bring Reelfest back next August but with additional content so that we can build on these themes every single year to make them truly amazing events. Based on your feedback though, we could always change our thoughts on this.

Season Pass

There is a free season pass available to everyone. Progression takes place by earning seasonal experience in our daily and seasonal challenges.

Inventory (NEW!)

Now that we have a concept of items on Out of Games, we also have an inventory system! Upon finding items in your travels on the site, they will be placed into your inventory. You can access your inventory at any time by clicking on your profile in the top of the website. Mobile users, check the navigation hamburger icon.

The inventory can hold 50 items by default. Each time you gain levels on the website you earn additional slots. Additional slots can also be purchased in the shop.

Marketplace (NEW!)

Many items can be exchanged with other users of the website via the Marketplace. Prices are decided by the community, so trade for what you feel is right. If you want to get back to the marketplace, you can find it on the primary navigation.

What is reelfest?

Reelfest is our first seasonal event. It takes place during August as is themed around fishing. We're all taking place in this on-site RPG and this month fishing is the key.

• Every 15 minutes you can cast your lure to try and catch a fish.

• Different areas of the site have different pools of fish.

  • Work as a community to pool together your findings.

  • Staff members other than myself have no idea about the internal mechanics of this, so they can also have fun with the community figuring out how things work.

• If your inventory is full when you catch a fish, it is automatically sold at the docks for vendor price.

Fishing?

Hell yeah! There are 30 different fish you can catch by casting your lure. Do note that where you are on the website matters as some fish only live in certain types of waters.

There is a location on the site called Headline Harbor. I wonder what pages those could be under...

It should be noted that any fish you catch and keep will stay in your inventory forever. They do stack up to 99, so Reelfest won't be capping out anyone's inventories. There may be use for fish in other events during the year if you hold onto them. There will also be fishing present in other events, it just won't be a main focus.

Tackle Log

Everyone that's been catching fish can see a log of all your catches in the Tackle Log. We also keep track of the highest size you catch for each fish... how large of fish are you catching?

Sand Dollars

Our new currency for Reelfest is Sand Dollars.

On September 2, all Sand Dollars will be convert to gold at a rate of 5 Sand Dollars to 1 Gold. So be sure to spend your currency during the month of August because you can't take it with you.

Snowflakes, our currency from Snowpocalypse will be staying around each year though. That was our promise years ago and we're keeping it at least for this year's run of it in December and January. There may be some other uses for them...

Water Balloons

Another throwable currency? You bet! Water Balloons can be thrown at members during the event so go and get each other soaking wet.

Note that as of launch our buttons for throwing balloons is only up on profile pages. This will be fixed by the afternoon, comments are supposed to have the buttons appear as well.

New Shop Items

You can head on over to the shop to buy Water Balloons and more inventory slots under the Reelfest category. We also have a few pins available featuring some of our harder to get fish. Spend those Sand Dollars!

New Scavenger Hunt

We have a reelfest-themed scavenger hunt now available. Check out Summer Treasure Dive!

This also marks the moment that we have activated daily activities on Out of Games. Each day a new activity will be published and it considered the daily one. Some of them will be focused on our on-site event so be sure to head on over to activities each day.

I just played Calia Menethil and she resurrected a 3 cost minion instead of a Jailbird. Granted the Jailbird was played for 0 mana, but shouldn't it still count as 5 cost in the res pool?
