You're all making some valid points but at the end of the day, the class isn't competitively viable. It's really a shame, not a single DK deck was brought to the world championship! Cards may be busted but the decks don't work as well as others. So I don't mind some buffs here and there. Obviously these don't have to affect the already strong cards, but boosting the class by improving the some of its average cards seems fine to me.
Runes are indeed part of the reason, decks didn't take off. But they surely won't scrap that mechanic, even though it was way to ambitious from the beginning. All archetypes have to be strong, otherwise they are just dead cards. It essentially splits the class in 3, further reducing the chance of viability of different deck types. I don't see any benefit in that.
Arena is a problem for buffs, but thats ane entirely different story and will mostly be fixed by offering rate adjustments and maybe some bans.
The fact that you can’t buy the pass with gold seems like an obvious step from their perspective. Judging on my friends list, many people play BG’s only and for them the game was 100% free. This was nice - obviously - but I get that cosmetics aren’t enough to pay the bill.
Also, the fact that they take BG’s cosmetics onto their own pass, leads to the conclusion that they will fill the gaps in the regular pass with actually interesting things for regular players. I really didn’t care for a second Sneed’s skin so that’s a positive in my book.
Where I get upset, is that the most paying HS fans get billed too. I bought pre orders mostly because they gave me access to every aspect of the game. Taking that away, immensely lowers the pre order value and as long as they don’t compensate, this change will make them earn LESS money from my side.
The P2W is indeed real but I couldn’t care less about BG’s ratings. It’s just a number without any frame of reference anyways
Runestones are obviously pure BS. I wonder if they dare the scummy 1900 Runestones package but the pass costs 2000. Oh boy, Reddit would burn.
Wow the regular bundles are realy good value! Arguably better than the preorder. I guess the standard packs are worse when you are missing a bunch of bad old legendaries but if you have a large collection already and open these first, it's great!
Completely different topic: They scrapped the high value skin from the tavern pass. I fully expected the new Garrosh skin to be part of it, similar to Faelin in the last pass. Now i'm kinda upset. Especially since I only really like the skins that are locked at level 100.
I haven’t gotten access yet but that’s a big red flag right here. At this point, the HS economy looks amazing even though it’s still the cost of 2-3 AAA titles a year.
A nexus event could have been a cool, story driven event that rewards you with one of two cards. If they charge the second one, so be it. But that’s just a limited time “promo”.
Also, did anyone realize that the pity timer kicks in before you actually hit the drop rate of the card? So you can’t reasonably expect anything else than 50 opens for a card
It's probably to expensive to be played in any constructed deck but ooooh boy - there are some pretty good Trolden moments in the pipeline ! Can't wait to pull this one with burgle rogue...
Big potential! I would be very suprised if this doesn't see play. It's clearly the enabler for the whole "damaged minion" theme and on top of that a good control tool in a vacuum.
Better, but I’m not convinced. Deathrattle decks play minions, preferably on curve. So, you’re likely not gonna draw a big minion and I don’t know if drawing a free 4-drop is worth an inclusion. But who knows, there may be an interesting combo on the way
I think they are able to balance the F2P experience with the reward track accordingly.
What worries me more, is the P2P experience tbh! Right now, prepurchase bundles correlate to 20€/month. A 4th bundle would be a significant increase in yearly cost for players that want to collect these unique skins and care about a full collection. Sure, you can allways miss out on one and would have enough ressources anyways (i think you can even do that right now) but knowing myself, that's not what's gonna happen. We're basically put in front of a dilemma - miss out on stuff or pay more...
The financial aspect aside, more cards surely are cool from a gameplay standpoint. Even though i have my concerns that pre expansion excitement will be lowered a lot when they occure so often. The last few patches were short allready and i haven't had the time to really understand the meta.
A 2-Card combo including a legendary for a worse twisting nether? In rogue?
I think it’s main focus will be cards like eggs where the front half of the card is more of a nuisance. I don‘t think there is enough synergy atm but there will be two more expansions where this card coexists with the graveyard.
I get that. And I obviously represent a less popular opinion. I still argue that the counter arguments are purely resource related.
Having difficulties completing a specific weekly quest that can be rerolled 7 times is definitely a very minor inconvenience.
The gameplay might be identical to high end legend, it still motivated me to watch a couple runs on twitch - something I do for no other brawl.
And the stakes do matter in this scenario. The same they would matter in a pro poker tournament where everyone on the table is a multi millionaire.
Now, will people waste resources that they can’t afford because of the high gambling incentive? Probably. And that’s a bigger issue to me than all the others.

Do people actually care about this quest? I have had the effect trigger maybe once.
So you still earn cards after pool 3? How many more cards are there?
They went full on the school yard “play with what you have” vibe, hu?
But man, those poor whales gonna have to dive deep…
Why even bother. This card should end games in 3 turns most of the time. That’s merely 6 damage from fatigue.

Yea weekly updates are cool but global release when?

So that's the big deathrattle that druid is supposed to play?
In a universe without Guff, I wouldn't even consider it but with 20 mana, it's at least worth a little experimentation.
It happened!! My first Nozdormu proc!
Guys, it was amazing!

Tokens do not consider conditions like outcast or upgraded spells. You never know with blizzard but I doubt it would summon two shadows.
Same! But I got lucky once and finished a fire spell quest with Tess rogue.

Probably not meta but seems like a lot of fun!
Colossals sure will mess with this card though. Imagine you opponent pulls an Osumat, he instantly fills his board and ends the effect.

I can see the iceblood towers and sigils of reckoning coming…
