I don’t get all the negativity. Sure, you miss out on a standard pack once a year or so but it’s an interesting event to follow imo. Really intriguing to watch these high stakes games on twitch.
Many other brawls are once and done - so it’s not as if you would miss out on a lot of gameplay when you skip this weeks brawl.

Maybe they could have activated twitch drops for people that stream their heroic brawls to counter the economic complaint .

Every god damn time, all my expansion day excitement gets destroyed by an army of brain dead agro decks from previous expansions.

I just got blasted down by the 5th consecutive pirate warrior in a row.
Turn 7, 19 health, just pulled of an insane swing turn with Naga mage and that guy pulls a Mr Smite and destroys me from an empty board.

I get that this is a good occasion for F2P’s and casuals to reach easy legend. But it drives me furious! We’ve spent weeks talking about the new cards, watched early gameplay with fun decks, spent hard earned money to get access to a variety of cool decks and for what? Arrrrrr me go face.

Damn, a shame they are not checking if all the Nax wings have been bought/completed instead of the possession of all the cards. I dusted some of the legendaries aaaages ago…

Most fun I've had in duels since release.  The fact that you get to test out new cards certainly has a part to play but the meta feels very fresh and diverse.
I feel like the new passives are on point. No more overpowered stuff that needs no synergy whatsoever.

The fact that I play casual instead of heroic (I value my gold more than stormwind packs on a discount, this close to the expansion release) might be the reason for the diversity, idk. Nontheless, a ton of fun!

A special shout out to freeze mage! I had a mad control deck with frostspells targeting also adjacent minions and armor for every frozen character.
It let to an interesting dynamic against DHs and Druids, where freezing face was the most important.

I'm talking about Unstable Shadow Blast specifically since this is a frequent interaction in Questlock.
Notable mentions would be Piercing Shot and Arcane Overflow

As an example: You target a 2-health minion while Mo'arg is in play.
The excess damage gets calculated first, so your hero takes 4 damage.
And then Mo'arg doubles the damage taken by the minion from 2 to 4.

It always bugged me since the minion takes excess damage after all.
I find it more intuitive and logical to calculate excess damage last.

Just to make sure, does Mo’args interaction with excess damage remains the same? (Excess damage is determined before damage to the minion is doubled)

I would think so since it’s not a matter of priority to my understanding but to how the calculation works.

I have to new bugs to add to the list:

    - selecting apprentice jaina as a deck specific hero skin walks in the menu but doesn’t register in game. You still have your default mage skin. Haven’t tested it on other skins though.

    - The new fel treasure in duels that shuffles rifts into your deck always puts them on top, so that you draw them at the start of your next turn. Pretty strong

Yea exactly my train of thought. Sadly this will take a whole lot of time to be playable when it doesn’t start in your opening hand. And even when you start with it, the first couple triggers are minuscule.

You might have a cheap 12-12 by turn 9-10 so it’s essentially a big giant but a horrible top deck.

Also, There is currently next to no synergy for having secrets equipped wich would make this card synergies at least a little

That‘s the kind of tool I like in arena. Great value when used correctly, hence rewarding good play. I don’t see this contribute to any game plan rogue might pursue in standard though.
In wild, it surely won’t make the cut into burgle rogues either because you want that life steal weapon or at least the quest

That is actually an insane neutral tool.
Good thing, board is irrelevant these days...

When this is OP, it would mean that the game lasts until turn 8. I'm fine with that. And it supports a more midrange, control archetype as well.
Comparable to Troublemaker i guess. I little stronger for board control but it loses the potential to deal face damage.

But probably a ban in arena after a couple weeks...

I don't think anyone would  be annoyed to revisit places like Icecrown under a different theme.

Most areas aren't necessarily one and done, especially not after a period of 5+ years.

One night at Karazahn is a great example how endless the possibilities are.

Slap that spell damage on 5-6 spells and suddenly the mage needs an additional damage card to finish you off. Surely this isn’t relevant all of the time but let’s assume for arguments sake, that it will cost you a win every 5th game, you otherwise would have won. That’s a loss of 20% wins or a drop from a 50% to a 40% winrate.
Even if it was only every 10th game, the impact is still there and pulls the deck down a couple tiers.

Decks have died for a single nerfed health point on 1 or 2-drops. It doesn’t take much to be pushed aside…

Same! I had everything crammed together in the bottom right. The top and left 5 rows were completely useless

I don’t know why you all rage like that. I honestly loved it. Hilarious, entertaining, a new mechanic and wrapped into a neat little context. It’s not competitive so I don’t mind having a chuckle seeing the AI Miss obvious lethals ore attack with an evolving weapon before attacking with its minions

    Agreed.

Boomsday and Rastakhan had me hyped because I loved the narrative. Magnetic and bombs were thematically an amazing fit for the set.
Every class getting it‘s personal Loa in Rastakhan and the troll slang all around had me caught since the trailer. I actually played through the BfA campaign last year just because of this set. (Never played wow before).

Even Gatgezan with the tribrid cards and factions was nice. Don’t forgett that things like Kazakus, hand buff and even the infamous jades were a deep dive into new waters for the game. Thematically on point.

I found RoS or the Witchwood way less appealing and hardly remember what cards exactly are part of these sets - even though they had great metas (ok- Shudder, Genn and Baku won’t be forgotten anytime soon).
I might add Stormwind to this list in a couple years. Story wise, the only outstanding thing so far is Tamsins Book of Mercenaries.

Lots of questions... Most of all, why did I hit 12-0 with this deck?!
I mean, why would you ever run a wand maker over a nerubian egg?
What's so good about deeprun engineer?
And whyyy is there a selective breeder with a single beast in the deck? Once the draw messes you up, this card is done for.

I got some answers during my run, wich demonstrate some genious decisions.

Deeprun engineer can find stuff like darkmoon tank while providing flexibility and an early play.
Selective breeder ant Warsong Wrangler don't to draw Deathstrider. With this card in hand, you probably won anyways. Also, the fact that there are no other beasts, allows you to draft a couple beasts during the run without messing up the Deathstalker draw engine.
The wandmaker over a nerubian egg is the only thing i dont really understand.

The true king has to be Loatheb though.

Oh and the 12 wins were done without any deathrattle related passives!
I got battlecry cost reduction and the adventurers at the start of each turn (extremly strong for board control)
