I went with a Bloodmage Rogue for my first try on a whim. After 2 hours I'm at level 10 and slowly get a feeling for the game. I learned that confronting more than one enemy at a time is a bad idea and more than two is suicide. I like the card and the quest system but I have no idea about the main story so far. Probably it hasn't even begun yet. It's a little inconvenient that there seems to be no immediate indicator that tells me if a picked up piece of equipment is better than what I carry at the moment. That was a really useful feature in the witcher 3. Thanks again for helping me getting started!
Rogues are quite fun but you are correct that multiple enemies can be difficult for them in the early levels. As you progress you will get some better skills to use for AOE. Remember to apply your poison to your weapons and try to apply damage over time effects to each enemy if applicable. I play Assassination on mine.
For gear, typically you can go ahead and base upgrades on the item level, especially at low levels. Your main stat will be Agility, and other secondary stats will have a more defined priority later in the game. If you have two pieces of the same item level with different secondary stats then you can decide based on how each one affects your character. For rogues you can focus on Haste for now as well as Critical Strike as most important.
Demon hunters are indeed very fun and quite powerful right now. You'll have to have a character to at least level 70 on the same realm to make one though i believe. This is because they start at a high level already after they are created. Death Knights work in a similar fashion but i think the requirement is slightly lower. As for races of DH i am pretty sure that they can only be elves. So if you choose the Horde faction, Blood Elf, and if you choose Alliance, Night Elf.
If you purchase BFA i believe you get a free lvl 110 character boost, and a free 120 for purchasing Shadowlands, but if you are new to the game i do recommend playing through some of the game first before jumping into the end-game.
I assume at the time they thought it was a bit too much tempo for a turn 1 play when Galakrond + the quest were wreaking havoc on the meta. Maybe they realized it was a little overkill?

My first idea: some form of acknowledgement for ones that actually ended up in the game. I know we have seen several cards created by players become reality in the past. I don't doubt that some designs have inspired the devs at some point.
Yeah i just was facing much slower decks so i swapped it in for Unleash the Hounds. The bomb is just a bonus deathrattle. You don't really have to destroy it, your opponent will likely do that for you when they try to clear your board, but it is also a target for [Hearthstone Card (misdirect) Not Found] on occasion, could be buffed by a Leokk, or even destroyed by Arcane Shot if you have Necromechanic in play.
Makes sense that they are keeping an eye on face hunter. I feel like it's teetering on the edge of oppressive sometimes when i play it. I am curious what cards are in question when they say face hunter though, or if they have any particular ones in mind yet. The flavour i have been enjoying puts an emphasis on deathrattle damage which can actually net you quite a burst and allow you to bypass taunt to damage the true place; the face. I'll also not get tired of exciting Misdirection lethals lol.
One thing i didn't like about that though is that you'd be waiting so long for the next expansion with only ~35 cards give or take to keep things interesting before they dropped another 135 card set. That's why they switched over to expansions only, and now to this. They have the staff to do the work now i guess, so they can put out more content.
Of course you can play them in standard. It's from the Year of the Dragon. Nothing different between this set of cards and those of previous adventures that included a set of cards.
Kind of funny that i wasn't really sure what to play but i had most od the cards for Quest Galakrond Shaman so i made up a list and turns out it's OP so i haven't really played anything else aside from pirate warrior. It's kinda disgusting. I also got a golden Nithogg and decides to play that despite many thinking its bad. Works pretty well if you can double the battlecry, and otherwise just baits removal so i kinda like it so far. Curious what exactly they plan to change to balance this.

It doesn't say anywhere the game is f2p, they are just not selling cards. Likely have to buy the game still if that is the case, i would think.

But in VR you could just find a new match instead of cleaning up the mess of cards!

I have done before a lot; forget to update the game on my phone and then try to play it at work on my break for a game or two lol.
I opened the game and it downloaded the patch in-app, no Play Store required.
This will only be good for decks that are built around abusing high health minions.

Well it's not really fair to label them all 'sets' when adventures have about 100 less cards than sets from packs. It adds up to a fourth set.
