The simulator is just for fun. We value goldens like crazy and there are multipliers when you get multiple goldens to make packs go real crazy.
Don't read into it too much :D Just know that each pack opening uses the same rates of appearance as the real deal, we just don't take into account collections or pity timers because to do so would be against the point!
Which mode makes you spend more time in 'XP mode'?
For ranked you are not getting XP whilst queuing into your opponent. And if you play an aggro deck, you might spend just 5 minutes in a match.
For battlegrounds, do you get XP at Bob's? And on the battleground? Because they last longer (takes a while for you to die, no matter how bad you are), does that make them a better XP/min spent at the game?
I think the heart of @LilianVoss' comment is that Blizz has been clear on this, but streamers/youtubers have been too hasty in discussing it before they have taken in all the details themselves. This has apparently led to some of them spreading a bit of misinformation about whether it is a good idea to disenchant original versions of cards that will in the Core set.
"The Core version is free, temporary, and non-disenchantable."
I've heard some streamers talking that Blizzard will be giving core set cards for free to everyone so you can disenchant cards you already own, because you'll get them for free anyway. This here shows what I suspected that case will be - yes core cards will be free, but only for as long as they are part of the core set. Once they go back to Wild, you won't have them anymore. Only cards that you opened in packs or crafted will be yours forever.
So don't disenchant anything!
I think Blizzard have been quite clear about it. If you have the core card (as Classic, or whatever) then your collection will end up with *both*. The temporary, rotating one will not be disenchant-able. When it rotates out, you'll be left with your original one.
So you might have 2 Rockbiter Weapons - one that costs 2 and one that costs 1. Because the core set will contain the updated version, and classic the original.
The blame is 100% on Blizzard. Players shouldn't need to load up Excel.
Ah this summarised quote got me 🤣 but I do believe ppl would've done their own calculations regardless if Blizzard was more transparent on the rewards track.
I've heard this (the original quote) said many times by managers/CEOs. When their staff/underlings present some simple proofs of how wrong the the manager/CEO is. They are just pissed that their underlings figured it out and work at making the next iteration even more baffling to cover up how they're screwing folks. "No, no, work harder, you'll get more reward in the end. Honest!!"
That one was not about the portrait itself, but rather about the tech behind it. They have to modify the collection to allow players to craft the portrait, which could be difficult since the collection Manager was never made for crafting portraits. They have to find solutions to questions like:
Can you DE skins? And if yes, where do you put the DE button, because the flavor text and "set favorite" part already takes a large part of the UI. It also raises the question how you differentiate craftable and uncraftable Portraits in the collection and if it's okay to keep the current View with only 6 heroes at a time if you plan to add more skins even more frequently.
The problems are definetely not just tied to "how to implement an png".
I mean, they haven't figured out how to make more than 18 deck slots, so it is probably quite tricky for them.
This is going to be the focus of so many first decks!
Both meme-y and yet looking plausible for the stat lines. Especially in arena?
Unless they are the only one on the board, a later-game 2 mana damage spell to 2 minions seems pretty good to me!
I think these upgradeable cards are being undervalued.
Has the potential to get you multiple spells, no?
A comparable tempo and value 2/3 2 drop... I think it will see play.
It's the new Dwarven Sharpshooter - a solid 1/3 1 drop for nearly all decks.
It is not exactly a an auto-pick like Penance
I know it has already been discussed. I really do want to cast Dire Frenzy on this !! :D
It might be fun for you, but I am deadly serious!
(too much?)
It is a shame that if nobody uses the pack opener, then the only link to it is tucked away.

TWENTY SEVEN HERE WE COME!!!
I've always said that Dean is a very fine person. Excellent choice of top cards.
There's a clear, clear obvious choice which one to bring back first!
If they created a "make non golden common/rare/epic/legend card golden" tokens, you could
They could be quest rewards, help people make their golden decks.
For more complexity, they could maybe stack.
I think that whilst lizzard are listening, someone should point them at this: https://outof.cards/forums/hearthstone/hearthstone-general/2665-tables-a-way-to-play-hearthstone-with-your-own-rules
There's a lot of good ideas in there, with pack sleeves and tokens.
Silly streamers!

Most importantly. How will Flux store the card variants and make the [ c a r d ] card code [ / c a r d ] stuff work?
So.... we should all be rushing to open our classic packs we've been hoarding!!?!
