  • So I had this epiphany while writing up the Ringmasters Baton:

You make your deck have cards like Evasive Drakonid, Dread Corsair, and Tomb Warden, use Whately to draw them, and Armagedillo to buff them on curve. And then you use this to add extra value for a menagerie taunt deck.

And you throw in N'zoth so you summon them again for a big wall.

You would just have to be careful about what minions you make your deck out of, so that N'zoth doesn't resurrect the wrong minion, since a deck like that would also run the additional taunt generating cards.

  • I mean if you've got a pirate, dragon or mech to play on curve this is pretty strong, but that's a big if, and with Ringmaster Whatley I feel like there's a specific dragon, pirate and mech you wanna pull. Like..maye something with taunt? so that Armagedillo also buffs them too?

    WAIT YES THAT'S IT!

AWW YEAH IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER

  • Wow, Menagerie Warrior, I wasn't expecting that archetype!

and now we can mark off "warrior Weapon" from the bingo card

  • Warlock got those spider eggs in Scholomance Academy that can be discarded to activate it's effect.

and with this spell being 1 mana it's pretty flexible to dump your hand of the smaller minions, play this, and then discard something you don't care about to gain it's effect. Will probably see play, but is it enough to push zoo on the ladder?

  • I guess you're right.

I suppose I wanted ETC to play the guitar since that's what you use to MELT FACES.

But I suppose him throwing hammers at the enemy's face is a callback to drummers throwing their sticks to the audience.

...it's just that the audience can't catch them correctly, ouch!

  • okay, I'll take it

  • 5 mana 5/5 with taunt is pretty strong. playing a 5 mana 8/8 taunt divine shield in the late game seems PRETTY strong.

  • So, warriors love rush minions, which means this guy should find a home somewhere.

But that would require a deck that has consistent rush minions, and the meta right now focuses on weapons, bombs or OTK.

we'll need a few strong rush minions to see this guy on a competitive deck. I guess they did show off that elephant that is an 8/8 and rush if it's corrupted...

  • feels like a win more card and not a win con card

  • minor nitpick, but I thought ETC was on lead guitars, not drums.

    Still, that's a neat legendary

  • hey cool we can tick off the discard check mark on the bingo card now

  • Yeah but in Arena wouldn't you rather just...play a really well statted minion that'll win you the game next turn instead of this guy?

  • It's a cheaper Fal'dorei Strider but with a deathrattle instead of a battlecry.

It seems like they might wanna push Miracle Rogue with this card, since they hinted that Rogues would wanna draw the C'thun parts, and summoning 3/3 minions while you draw the win conditions isn't the worst gameplan.

That said, you could also not play this, and use Stowaway to just draw the C'thun pieces.

Not terrible in arena, really aggressive for 3 mana, and the 3/3's aren't the worst minions to summon on your side of the field.

  • that pun was grizzly

  • they're just weaker Nerubians. And yeah they can be pulled with Stowaway but I feel Rogue will use Stowaway for the C'thun pieces

  • Aggro DH got me to legend in AoO, and a card like this woulda been super good in that deck.

Problem is that Aggro DH isn't BAD, but depending on the meta other decks might just be better. like Soul Fragment DH.

And normally I'd say a card with draw is always good, but DH isn't shy on card draw - Skull of Gul'dan, Spectral Sight, Manafeeder Panthara, Crimson Sigil Runner, the list goes on for DH and draw, and those are generally better since they either draw multiple cards, discount cards, or are cheap and flexible to use.

Now that said, if you pulled this guy off of Skull of Gul'dan, you have a 0 mana draw a card that you can play and then attack for 4 damage.

    Something to consider, I guess.

In arena it might be picked because of the draw, but the health means it will just die to mage's hero power

  • The draw is nice, but the health makes it easy pickin's for Mage in arena.

  • I wanna play this in an aggro DH list but I just know that everytime I play it I'll draw Skull of Gul'dan...

  • There isn't a huge demand for silence in the meta right now, unless you're playing Demon Hunter and need to go through a taunt. OR you're playing against a libram paladin.

That said, there's plenty of legendary minions with good effects or minions with deathrattles you might wanna shut up, and stealing their effect while nullifying theirs is pretty good.

I'm very certain this guy will see play somewhere, but I don't have the theorycrafting chops to see where

  • it's like the good parts of Mindflayer Kaahrj and Spellbreaker but without the extra steps. It's also better statted than both of them, too
