- The 223,000 for quests if you complete everything during the expansion seems a pretty unassailable number to start with.
- Then add the achievements, but most of us aren't going to complete near to all of them, so I think 10,000 is a fair number to add for someone trying to complete them but not going all out to do the really tough ones.
- Finally add the XP from time played. An hour a day is far less than my average but an ok base to work from. They say ~400 per hour for ranked but someone here already said they got 120 for 20+ minutes. I'm going with 350 per hour for now. So for 121 hours that's 42,350.
- Add it all up and you've got 275,350. Let's just say 275,000, which gets you exactly to level 68. That gets you 6900 gold + all the other stuff
- The Tavern Pass gets you +10% XP immediately and then +15% at 5750, which you can get to on day 1, then +20% XP at 89,000. That's a tad less than a third of 275,000 so lets say you get to 35 at about a third of the way through the expansion. So the Tavern Pass gives you +15% XP from almost day one and then for the last 2/3 of the expansion you're at +20%. I think that adds up to about +18% XP over the course of the expansion. So add 18% to 275,000 for the total XP in the expansion with the Tavern Pass. That gives you 324,500 XP total, which gets you exactly to level 79.
- So if the above calculations for the Tavern Pass are correct (for an hour a day of play, completing all quests and completing most achievements) then it gives you +11 levels of experience, which is +1650 gold (16 packs), as well as all the cosmetics.
- 16 packs plus the cosmetics seems like an alright deal for $20. Having said that....I would like the Tavern Pass twice as much if that damn coin was golden and animated! I was so hyped for the Darkmoon Coin! But it not being animated is a big downer!!
Well yes but it also gives less incentive to aggro players to farm gold from fast wins to get to the daily cap of 100. So when you're playing your meme deck maybe you'll run into less face hunters doing just that? Anyway the gold from playing time is much less than quests and they haven't told us how much extra we get from winning. Probably a small percentage increase like 5%.
I'm a little less excited about getting the alternate coin now that I see it's not golden and animated. Why wouldn't they make it animated if that's the only way you can get it?
Sooo what minion would you want with this? Vargoth obviously but what else? Deathrattles I guess? The 7/7. Infiltrator. Rush? Catrina could be good. Not sure how it makes an impact.
Armor is a really low tempo meh thing for 8 mana. If you get 8 armor and a 5/5 with this card you feel really bad. Massive tempo loss. If you get 8 armor and an 8/8 you feel good but not great. Like I said though It does pair well with Solar Eclipse.
All true but remember they will iterate on it, adding, removing and balancing treasures and hero powers. And there is a casual mode, so it's not like you have to pay gold to get rekt by someone's crazy OP deck. The way you get access to the hero powers and treasures is alarming though and seems unwise on their part. Maybe they thought it would feel great for players that are able to get more stuff, but it will feel really bad for the ones that are locked out and have to craft a legendary or several epics to get the thing they want. A lot of those people might just not get into Duels as a result which could greatly hamper its success. They should rethink this...unless we're missing something and the two examples they gave are outliers.

Were you playing Casual? Maybe that's ~300 per hour??

That seems well below ~400 xp per hour. Seems in line with the ~300 for Battlegrounds but low for what they said above.
My question as well.
I'm a little less excited about getting the alternate coin now that I see it's not golden and animated. Why wouldn't they make it animated if that's the only way you can get it?
Uhhh...what? Buffing a single minion +2/+2 at minimum would make this worth considering. Utter trash.
Seems like a strong card for zoo/token.

What do you mean enhancement?
Quintessential card that no one will ever play....except with Solar Eclipse. High rolls and low rolls are about even, with Octosari thrown in there.
Omega yikes
Yeah I dont get it. Kinda annoying for a card that will see play.
I so LOOOOVE how Corrupt feeds into control archetypes!!!!!!!!!
The ones for your collection must be retroactive right? And we collectible coins from those? Sweet!
Y'Shaarj is the Bancient One!
The "cherry" is concerning but keep in mind this isn't the only new game mode coming. Another one will come out next expansion.
To each their own.
