As with all things, this is going to depend on the meta. So this expansion + whatever the core set brings or gets rid of.

It took me a minute to realize this goes face too.

We don't know that there is even going to be a dust refund for it. The card wasn't changed, the pool was.

I feel like Clumsy Courier's battlecry played spell counting as yours is one of the last pieces Big Spell Mage needs. In lieu of that, give Mage a Fel, Holy, Nature and a new Shadow spell in the upcoming expansion/mini-set. If Mage could have a spell played from every school and they are actually good, Dawngrasp would finally achieve the heights of an incredible hero card.

It has been confirmed that you can honor kill your own minions.

The "At enemies" part makes it seems like it could be only targeted spells? But I have no clue.

I think the difference with that is Mage can generate and discount so many spells. When I used to play the deck at the start of the expansion, many times I killed my opponent while still having a lot of direct damage in hand. I killed people without even having to play Dawngrasp.  You are going to be doing damage to them before you even drop them too. Remember, this deck was just Spell Mage before it was Quest Mage and it did a good job of killing people then. Now you have infinite ignites.

Honestly , I think perception/free dust is going to be what kills the play rate. It's -1 spell damage, but Mage can still draw and discount a lot of direct damage spells. When I used to play it, I could kill people sometimes without even playing Dawngrasp. Plus people are going to stop teching for it, making it easier to play. Sure, Pirate Warrior and Druid are probably going to end up dominating the meta, but I don't think Quest Mage is actually that worse off from the minus spell damage. You  can still do literally everything you did before with drawing, completing the quest quickly and all of that.

Global spell damage for the rest of the game without a stick is still good.

Got my first 12 wins in duels thanks to Meek Mastery plus Dragon Affinity. Being able to drop a 0 cost dragon at the start of the game  along with something else sometimes really helped, so I assumed it was in for a nerf.

Yeah. Plus these are just the commons. The epics and legendaries probably will have the most power, but really strong rares can be dropped into classes that need a boost.

People would literally complain that Blizzard didn't announce it and that they aren't communicating with people.

I think it's probably unlikely they will print anything that directly interacts with the quests in a disruptive way. Maybe they might print something that gives both players Minus Spell  damage or something to raise the cost of minions or spells, but not anything like "X to your opponents quest".

Aggro decks are always at the top of the meta.

While HS2 seems less plausible to me, OW2 has always been inevitable. The game can only live on skins for so long and you don't even have to pay actual money for them. I still play the game and recently squires every event skin and classic skin in the the game, all without paying a dime.

When they weren't working on OW2, they gave new characters and maps for free. They still do content and balance updates. The game needs to make money, that's just the way of business. I'll gladly pay for an OW2, so long as they don't start charging for the things they have always been giving away for free.

Alec mentioned in the Interview that Spring Water won't be nerfed because Mage's winrates is within the range they want it to be in. Iksar said the same thing.
