Today we continuing exploring some of the new decks players are discovering with cards in the Rising Tides Expansion. Let's take this opportunity to investigate Gangplank and see what kind of ideas are brewing out there. If you've got a deck that works for you, please use our Deckbuilder so you can share it with everyone!
If you're looking to have fun with loads of Powder Kegs, then look no further! He's not too difficult to level up, and once he flips you may do enough damage to kill your opponent and their units simply by attacking.
Gangplank Aggro
I've made a simple flowchart to explain this deck.
- 1. Is your opponent dead?
- Yes - Congratulations! Enjoy your victory
- No - Hit them in the face.
- 2. Return to Step 1.
I'll ask you one last time. Did you take your Vitamin C today?
Gangplank Midrange
With all the dangerous barrels of powder and toxic sludge in this deck it's like an OSHA nightmare. But don't worry, you've got plenty of ways to deal with any health inspector (or player) facing this deck.
Gangplank Combo
This is a fun OTK deck to try out. As long as you've got The Dreadway and play Commander Ledros, your opponent is going to have a bad day...real bad.
Is something burning? No, I'm really asking.
Gangplank Control
Whether you kill your opponent with Gangplank or Sejuani, there is nothing more satisfying than dropping a Sharknado (Riptide Rex) on a full board.
Comments
At the risk of revealing what a huge Mogwai fanboi I am, here's an interesting GP + Swain deck he posted earlier this week. Unfortunately I'm still a ways away from crafting it myself, but I think it plays out like a less-aggro/more-controlly version of the first deck on this post.
I'll be sure to check this video out! I recently watched my first Mogwai video where he showcased his version of the Nautilus Deep deck and I really liked it. I have also started to watch a lot of Swim's videos lately, I really like his personality combined with his knowledge on card games (and LoR in particular). I always love watching high level players who also aren't afraid to try creative(/dumb) stuff.
