Konami just announced, via the in-game notification systerm, the first event for Master Duel. It is called the Xyz Festival, and will focus on on the black-bordered Extra Deck Monsters of the same name.

The Festival takes place in just about a week, between the 17th and 24th of February. You'll be able to claim your rewards until the 26th on the latest. The rules of the Festival are pretty simple: Aside from Master Duel's ban list, players are only allowed to use Xyz Monsters in their Extra Deck. 

During the event, players will be rewarded Medals at the end of each Duel, which can be exchanged for rewards. You'll earn Medal whether you win, lose, or draw, but NOT if you Surrender, so keep playing until the very end. You'll earn double the Medals if you use your own original Deck, but it's unclear how the originality of the deck will be verified.
