MARVEL SNAP has a new community event to celebrate the launch of its music video, "Hero," and it's all up to the members of the community to work together to increase the Hype and earn some rewards.
Hero Hype
The Hero Hype Event is the new community event for MARVEL SNAP; you can open it by clicking on the link on the front page, or by opening the News section (and scrolling down):
Once you're in, you'll see the Hype meter - players will increase the Hype meter together by playing matches and watching the music video for "Hero." The link to the video, if you haven't already watched it, is on the event page.
Watching the music video increases the Hype; playing matches earns you Records, which you can use to pump up the jam by returning to the event page and spinning your Records (located at the bottom of the screen). You earn one Record for each Cube you earn during the event - you can double that amount (two Records, ah ah ah!) by playing specific cards in your deck. The "doubler" cards will change as the event progresses, right now they are Gambit and Rogue.
Now seems like a good time to remind all those PC players that to fully participate in this event they will need to get out their phones - the News section is still unavailable on the Early Access PC build of MARVEL SNAP, and the web link to the event doesn't appear on the carousel on PC. You can earn Records by playing matches on PC, but in order to claim them and increase the Hype, you'll need to get on your phone and open the event page from the News section.
Records, Bonuses, and Rewards
Each player contributes Hype to the event, and together the community earns rewards:
- At 10 Million Hype, all participants earn 100 Gold.
- 20 Million Hype earns participants 150 Credits.
- 30 Million Hype earns participants 200 Gold.
- 40 Million Hype earns a Storm Avatar (featuring the art from the free "Hero" Variant).
We'll all get the rewards we've earned in our Inboxes, sometime within the week after the event ends.
You'll earn 1 Record (which can become 1 Hype by spinning your Records on the event page) for each Cube you win, and can double that to two Records per Cube by playing with that week's featured cards. A player can contribute a maximum of 100 Records per day to the event.
Each week of the event, a new couple of cards will be featured, giving a boost to the players whose decks include one of them (you won't get extra boosts by including more than one).
For week one, the featured cards are:
Discard a card from your hand. Destroy a random enemy card. On Reveal: Steal an Ongoing ability from a random enemy card at this location.
Week two of the Hype Event starts at 11 PM PT December 15 (7 AM UTC 16 December), and the featured cards will be:
Ongoing: Cards you play here are not revealed until the game ends. Ongoing: Adjacent locations have +2 Power. On Reveal: Add a 4-Power Doombot to each other location.
Week three of the Hype Event starts at 11 PM PT December 22 (7 AM UTC 23 December), and the featured cards will be:
On Reveal: Your opponent can’t play cards at this location next turn. Ongoing: Players can only play 1 card a turn.
Week four of the Hype Event starts at 11 PM PT December 29 (7 AM UTC 30 December), and the featured cards will be:
When you play a card here, +2 Power. Ongoing: Cards in your hand cost 1 less. (minimum 1)
The event lasts four weeks, and ends on 11 PM PT on January 5 (7 AM UTC on 6 January).

It is not 1 record per match played it is 1 record per cube won so you can do 16 records in a single match if you play the featured cards
