MARVEL SNAP's Hot Location this weekend is Elysium!

Elysium opens up a lot of freedom to play cards earlier than they should be, and as many as you can. It's a good chance to test out formerly clunky synergies that can now have space to breathe with the extra discount.

However you choose to plan for the Hot Location, you'd better get used to it; being a Hot Location means that Elysium will have a 50% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 8 PM PT Saturday night to 8 PM PT Sunday night (2 AM UTC Sunday to 2 AM UTC Monday).

Hot Decks for Elysium

If you're looking for ideas of what decks you can play to the Hot Location, we've got you covered: with recommended decks for players just starting out in Series 1, players still moving up through Series 2, and players who are starting to fill their collections with cards from Series 3, 4, and 5.

Series 1 Double Dino

The main problem with Elysium is that your cards are so cheap, you eventually play them all. Enter Moon Girl, who can double your assets and give you twice as much Power. This deck runs Devil Dinosaur, which might seem strange with the hot location, but it keeps cards in hand with Sentinel, Cable, and White Queen.

Series 2 Big Jubilee

If you're going to use the cost discount of Elysium, you might as well be packing some large cards to take advantage. Sunspot is a premium 1-Drop that can turn all that unused Energy into more Power.

Series 3 Sera Surfer

Running Sera for even more cost reduction feels a little greedy, but this Sera Silver Surfer list uses the extra freedom to play a few more 3-Drops and make a game-ending Surfer play that much more potent.

Series 3 Wongoing

Elysium lets us get Wong on board a little earlier, which means he's avaliable to start boosting the On Reveal of Hazmat and Spectrum. Omega Red, usually a clunky 5 for 4 is a lot more palatable when he only costs 3 (2 if you have Zabu).

Series 3 Negative Panther

While we're on the topic of reducing cost, we should spare a moment to talk about Mister Negative. With Elysium on the board, we don't even need Psylocke to play him on turn 3 - but if it is, we can use Psylocke to play him on turn 2 and reap the benefits that much sooner.

What are Hot Locations in MARVEL SNAP?

There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP, both of which have a 50% chance of appearing for the next 24 hours.

  • Sunday's Hot Location that always pulls from existing locations.
  • Wednesday's Featured Location that usually shows off new locations, but will pull from the pool of existing locations from time to time.

The increased appearance rate for the Hot Location will shake up the meta for a day - for example, Odin was the finisher of choice for many players when Kamar-Taj was the Hot Location.
