We've got a new featured location in MARVEL SNAP and it's Pet Mansion!

Pet Mansion is a completely new location being added to MARVEL SNAP as part of the April Season: Animals Assemble. The turn it is revealed, all cards must be played there.

Pet Mansion is similar to Avengers Compound, since both locations force cards to be played there on a specific turn; the main difference is that Avengers Compound always triggers on turn 5 (and thus be planned for), whereas Pet Mansion can appear in any of the first three turns. Like the Compound, this could make the Guardians of the Galaxy good cards to play around with (particularly cheap ones like Mantis, Rocket Raccoon, and Star Lord).

However you choose to plan for the featured location, you'd better get used to it; being a featured location means that Pet Mansion will have a 50% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 8 PM PT Tuesday night to 8 PM PT Wednesday night (2 AM UTC Wednesday to 2 AM UTC Thursday).

What Are Featured Locations in MARVEL SNAP?

There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP, both of which have a 50% chance of appearing for the next 24 hours.

  • Sunday's Hot Location that always pulls from existing locations.
  • Wednesday's Featured Location that usually shows off new locations, but will pull from the pool of existing locations from time to time.

This helps pave way for new deckbuilding strategies as you may want to be playing something else should the bonus better benefit cards you aren't playing with. We've seen this previously with the featured location, Monster Island, whose boosted appearances meant many players ran Shang-Chi to destroy the 9 Power Monster.

Hot Decks for Pet Mansion

If you're looking for ideas of what decks you can play to the Featured Location, we've got you covered: with recommended decks for players just starting out in Series 1, players still moving up through Series 2, and players who are starting to fill their collections with cards from Series 3, 4, and 5.

Series 1 GoG Dino

For our budget deck, we're fully embracing the power of predictability with three Guardians of the Galaxy, and choosing to use them to support a Devil Dinosaur strategy because of how good Mantis is when she can get her On Reveal to trigger.

Series 2 Movement

Continuing with our theme of adding the Guardians of the Galaxy to decks for maximum Pet Mansion Power, we've got a Movement deck that leans on a (slightly different) trio of Guardians for extra Power while using cards like Cloak and Doctor Strange to move its cards around and be much less predictable.

Series 3 DoomWave

DoomWave is a deck that can easily get coverage across all three locations with Doctor Doom and Mister Fantastic, and Wave works to facilitate playing its more expensive cards early. Its variety of cheap cards gives the deck plenty of things to do on Pet Mansion.

Series 3 Ultron Patriot

Patriot decks continue to be sturdy and reliable when trying to climb, and the Pet Mansion featured location should do nothing to change that. Being forced to play to a certain location could even be a bonus, considering this deck can always fill empty spots in locations with the Drones from Ultron.

Series 4 Shuri

Until she's eventually nerfed, Shuri is still one of the best cards in MARVEL SNAP, or at least the engine for one of its most dominant decks. The main combo of "play Shuri on 4, then do powerful things," is unaffected by Pet Mansion's restriction, and the deck has plenty to do in the early game on the off chance it does want to play to the featured location.
