We've got a featured location in MARVEL SNAP and it's Nova Roma!
Nova Roma is an existing location being featured in MARVEL SNAP as part of the April Season: Animals Assemble. The turn it reveals, each player draws an additional card.
Nova Roma isn't too terribly complex to figure out, and most decks wouldn't mind getting one card deeper in their decks. cards like Devil Dinosaur and Ronan the Accuser will appreciate the extra cards in hand.
However you choose to plan for the featured location, you'd better get used to it; being a featured location means that Nova Roma will have a 50% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 8 PM PT Tuesday night to 8 PM PT Wednesday night (2 AM UTC Wednesday to 2 AM UTC Thursday).
What Are Featured Locations in MARVEL SNAP?
There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP, both of which have a 50% chance of appearing for the next 24 hours.
- Sunday's Hot Location that always pulls from existing locations.
- Wednesday's Featured Location that usually shows off new locations, but will pull from the pool of existing locations from time to time.
This helps pave way for new deckbuilding strategies as you may want to be playing something else should the bonus better benefit cards you aren't playing with. We've seen this previously with the featured location, Monster Island, whose boosted appearances meant many players ran Shang-Chi to destroy the 9 Power Monster.
Hot Decks for Nova Roma
If you're looking for ideas of what decks you can play to the Featured Location, we've got you covered: with recommended decks for players just starting out in Series 1, players still moving up through Series 2, and players who are starting to fill their collections with cards from Series 3, 4, and 5.
Series 1 Dino
No card loves extra cards in hand quite like Devil Dinosaur, so if you're looking for a budget option playing to this featured location, look no further than everyone's favorite Cretaceous friend. This deck runs America Chavez - her presence, plus the extra draw from Nova Roma, should make it more likely for you to find your key cards.
Series 2 Dino Control
We're still building around Devil Dinosaur in Series 2, now with control tools like Shang-Chi and Iceman to keep our opponent's numbers down.
Series 3 Sera Surfer
Finding Sera is important to any deck running Sera, and drawing Silver Surfer is integral to every Surfer strategy. This Sera Surfer deck hopes to draw an extra card from the featured location, so it has a better chance of going off on turns 5 and 6.
Series 3 DoomWave
The integral card for this deck is Wave, who can help cheat out something impactful on turn 4, or take advantage of the cost fluctuation of She-Hulk to play 9 Power plus another card on turn 6. The recent change to Leader makes him a perfect fit for this deck, copying whatever large thing your opponent decided to play.
Series 3 Bast Patriot
Bast also likes drawing cards, since it gives more targets for her handbuff. This Patriot deck uses Bast to buff cards in hand, then Patriot, Blue Marvel, and Mystique can buff those cards on the board.
