Hearthstone Global Games 2019

Did anyone here watch the first weekend of the Hearthstone Global Games? I feel like the marketing, prize money, production value, attention given and tournament duration are all way under par for a tournament which could be the largest event in Hearthstone. I would have loved to root for my country all tournament, but now they're already knocked out after 3(!) games. The viewership was very low as well, probably because most people didn't even know it was going on or who were playing in it. What are your opinions on this tournament?

    • I wasn't even aware the global games were on, which is a pretty sure sign that Blizzard doesn't care to market them. I watched the 2017 global games quite a bit and I had a good time doing so, so it'd be a shame if the tournament gets discontinued.

      I knew they were on and I watched them. Mexico's matches were amazing. Some really good hearthstone if you want to catch the VODs.
      Also, USA being reverse swept while on Evolve Shaman was pretty crazy too.

  • Yeah, it wasn't really announced very well either.

  • I get the feeling they just threw this tournament together to fill the gap between BlizzCon and the next GM season.

  • I find it kinda odd that that a tournament featuring the supposed best from 32 countries have a 20k prizepool while the showmatch tournament for battlegrounds featuring streamers and personalities have a 300k prizepool. Or am I missing something?
