What more do you want out of this card. Its gonna see play, because it does two things that mage wants.
This card will be chosen often from Discover effects. I can also see it being run in decks that want to Excavate a lot, which might be a lot of Mages this cycle.

Freeze is almost always good, and excavate looks pretty good too, so this should be pretty damn good. It will also combo nicely with Snap Freeze, so that will be fun.
