Emerald Spellstone - Post-Nerf Discussion

Last month Emerald Spellstone was nerfed alongside a few other cards. We wanted to see how everyone felt about the nerf at this point in time.

The nerf was: Cost increased to 6 mana (Up from 5)

  • Do you think the nerf to Emerald Spellstone was warranted?
  • Are there any decks you're using that make use of the nerfed card? Share them!

  • its still playable. that makes a pretty good nerf 

  • Yeah, It was a very strong card and even with the nerf it is still incredibly powerful. I use it in a control hunter deck and, even at 6 mana, it can be a game winner alongside Zul'jin.

  • It's still strong card. I still use it in my hybrid hunter deck. cant really feel the nerf. 

  • I was able to get to rank 4 this month with the recruit/secret hunter. I was running both spellstones and both hunter's marks. I'm sure if you were on the grind long enough you could push beyond rank 4 with this deck. I ended up changing over to a recruit/deathrattle hunter though since I felt the nerfs may effect further pushing beyond rank 4.

  • Definitely warranted a change.  Still a viable card.  I'd say that's the definition of a good nerf.

  • Emerald Spellstone is still a solid card.

    Thankfully, such a nerf prevented crazy combos with [Hearthstone Card (Thundra Rhino) Not Found] - 12 damage of charge on Turn 10 is pretty insane.
