Wild - Make Kingsbane Great again

Shout out to all the wild players! 

I've been jumping in and out ever since big warrior got retired from standard - from the latest wild pack bundle I got my old favourite card back - Kingsbane (which i stupidly dusted a while ago when I was adamant I wouldnt get into wild...how wrong i was...)

I'm looking to try going for legend with kingsbane (havnt managed it in wild before, need that notch on the belt)

I gather this is more of an aggro deck now since the lifesteal was nerfed - I'm looking for good combo's and reccomended build types. I've tried the pirate version and had some fun, but does anybody use sonya with it anymore? or the DK? is a Mill version worthwhile? Which is best vs aggro or control?

  • Mill version is too slow and dies from Aggro (you have more chances by going Wall-Mill or hyper-Mill).

    You should go Aggro yourself with tutors for the dagger - but it's still too slow compared to current Aggro or Tempo/Burn decks in Wild.

    Old Kingsbane used to be strong because of the insane healing, providing survival in the face of Aggro, AND Burn power for itself. Atm it's just Burn power, and not even so fast at that...

    Seems like the aggro way of doing it. I'm thinking of cutting something for silence or two, possibly for an eater of secrets due to high numbers of mages currently on ladder. 

     

    Any suggestions? 

  • Squidface can go, for Eater/Mystic and you definitely need Leeroy in there as well.

    In general, I think Kingsbane can and should occupy a niche similar to Pirate Warrior, where you trade the bare minimum to protect your board, but going Face the rest of the time.

  • Maybe with the rotation Raiding Party will go back to 3 mana: that would help the deck a lot more than you think

  • From my own experience, if you're going kingsbane aggro, you should go full hyper aggro with it. Specifically;

    - Remove 2x Bloodsail Raider for 1x Preparation + 1x Leeroy Jenkins

    - Remove 2x Southsea Squidface for 2x Goblin Auto-Barber

    - Remove 1x Southsea Captain for 1x Doomerang

    Try to not use both copies of Sap until you can push for lethal, unless against mech pally.

    You can also ditch the Doomerang for Eviscerate or a second prep. Just be wary that most games you got to go face with kingsbane even if it only has 2 damage on it.

    Edit: Just thought about the huge amounts of secret mage in wild. Maybe you can cut off one of the parachuters for eater of secrets.
