I haven't done an Arena run in some time, as I'd been tryharding on Ranked and messing around with the Solo content. I figured I'd give it a go with the new card sets, and had a blast going up 2-0 to start.
The odd reaction? "Where's my loot card?" Not a suggestion or anything, just a funny thought that went through my head. Wondering if anyone else had such a thought.

What do you mean by "loot card"? You will probably have to elaborate on the situation a bit more.
If you havent played arena in a long while and you came back to a 2-0 that said the run is finished, it was cause there was an arena reset couple weeks ago. There will be arena reset every two months or so, ever since Year of the Dragon. They are trying rotating sets and change things up twice per expansion.
There is a known bug that has been there forever, that you actually get arena rewards awarded to your account even before you click on the key and open up the boxes. So if you are paying attention enough and know how much gold you had before you finished your run, you can see the amount is now different and after you open loot boxes, you are not awarded any more gold/dust, cause it already happened.
Now this step most ppl dont even realize happened, but it is very apparent during arena reset. Because when you log in to the game, you notice you might have a pack unopened and maybe notice how much gold you have, so you open your pack, cause you probably forgot about it or something and go about your business. Then you go to arena screen for your rewards and you get nothing. Thats because when you logged into the game, that unopened pack was from the arena reward and any gold/dust was already awarded to you as well, you just didnt know it and now you think something is wrong. Yes, technically something is wrong, but in reality you did not lose anything, you just didnt know you already got it ;-)

There was never such a thing as loot cards before in HS for arena, and never will be it seems. Don't you think you mix it with MTG or ES:L ?

As Almaniarra said, that was never a thing in arena. But also, as AliRadicali said, this could actually be an interesting idea for an event. I dont think it would be easy to implement such a thing into the arena environment permanently, Blizzard has had problems balancing the game mode without any extra stuff added, now if you added treasures on top of that, it would make for a very unfair experience overall.
It is ok to have a bit unfair, but a fun experience for a little while, but as long as the game mode ur playing is a paid one, you expect certain level of professionalism from it, so you are not just playing a lottery.
That being said, i did love the ESL way to draft an arena deck, where you get to pick more cards along the way after every win, but that game plays out slightly differently than HS, so i dont know if it could work out for HS or not, but it could be an interesting experience for sure.
I honestly wouldn't mind this as a temporary arena or brawl format (like the dual class arena at Halloween). Sure, the treasure cards are busted, but so long as you get matched with players with an equal amount of wins the crazy should balance out, right?
I don't play Arena all that much but I'd definitely give dungeon-arena a few runs.
