Is the Sylvanas fight the best PvE content yet?

I just finished the Sylvanas fight (final boss in Anduin's chapter in the  Book of Heroes) and I was absolutely blown away by it. It felt like I was raiding in WoW again, progressing to various stages of the fight with each requiring different strategies. And because of the 1 mana draw 2, you actually seem to get the resources that you need to do that pretty reliably. Very good design. Lore-wise it felt very accurate too and the whole experience of your growing army of legendaries made it just feel like an epic fight.

What probably helped too was that I killed her with no card left in my deck and when her HP started to feel overwhelming - a bit similar to downing a WoW raid boss with everyone running out-of-mana and half the raid dead when you land this final hit.

So for me, yes, it was the best PvE content that I have played in HS. What are your experiences?

      Fittign Lore it did it realy well.

      being a good/fun boss fight with anduins horrible deck? Yeah not at all.

      Fun is too strong a word. Its basically the same as Jaina; easy to get over with. Even the most unfun design is easily forgiven if I can pretty much steamroll past it, which was what I thought mostly about Jaina's and now Anduin's.

      Fortunately for Anduin, the last mission is very well made, so that's the high bar every other mission must now be compared with.

  • It is probably the best mission so far in book of heroes, mostly because you get to place plenty of heroes against the opponent's heroes. Just a tad shame that yours never permanently die, so I wasn't really all that concerned over their lives. I never had any problems with Sylvanas since I've 4 heroes on board and plenty of firepower while she mostly have only removal and that weapon, which all things considered, is way too slow compared to your army.

    It does help a great deal that none of the missions that we've experienced so far come even close to this one in terms of design, difficulty, and satisfaction. I'm still waiting to see if Thrall's mission can trump this one, since Thrall's significance in the lore is much greater than Anduin's.

    • Yeah, I wonder if the draw of the legendary minions is scripted. I only played it once and got them neatly spread out, but I can imagine that if you get 2 or 3 early on it becomes a walk in the park. 

      Difficulty level is probably a tough nut to crack for the design team. With a very diverse audience to cater for, they're probably looking at a level that gives casuals a chance while not making it a complete pushover for better players. 

  • Only played it once. Did not find it fun. Kept drawing the taunt 1 mana and 3 mana spells. Git give it another try but so far seems excruciating hard

  • I found Sylvanas encounter really fun and interesting. On the first try got her down to 38 health, on the second killed her on her second turn. What I didn´t really understand why the deck contained Mass Resurrection. All it resurrected was a bunch of 2/2s and that even without taunts.. Did I miss something?

    On the other hand,  I´ve one shotted all the other Heroes, except the Velen. For me that fight was the most annoying, had to try it many times before I finally succeded and never want to play it ever again.

      Watch this, and you'll know why Mass Res is in there: BfA cinematic. The Sylvanas fight is the HS version of the battle that the cinematic shows the start of.
