Losing rating for 1st place

I just do not understand. I thought that I know how this rating system works, but after this I am not so sure... Does it make any sense to get into a match in which I lose rating even if I win?

    • You don't always lose rating, it's only when everyone is of a lower skill level than you. However I do believe that blizz should make it that you at least get 0 rating for 1st place.
