Correct me if I’m wrong but from what I understand the nerf reverts to cards that rotate to wild will be active in this state from the patch that introduces the Barrens cads, which will probably happen after the reveal stream on the 22nd, probably the 23rd or 25th of this month, so there will be a period of about a week or so where these cards will be in standard, unnerfed, before the rotation and the new expansion hit, right?

If that’s right, I think I’m even happier with these changes.

Finally, we have a schedule for the revelation of the new expansion cards, we'll have from the 16th to the 19th with a sample with the art of the cards, I just don't know why on the 19th we have only 1 tho. link below.

Time to prepare the "two losses" stratagy :)

In the past, when Basic cards were sent to Wild via Hall of Fame we saw them become Common rarity cards which could then be Disenchanted. One perfect example is Mind Blast, which I have the regular copies of still, but disenchanted the golden copies.  I am expecting the same to happen when the Core set is implemented, although I haven't heard or seen specific confirmation of this yet.  It might have been mentioned in one of Iksar's community Q&As, but I can't remember.

But here is an interesting wrinkle: 11 of those Basic cards which will be part of the Core set are being assigned a Rare gem, and 1 will be an Epic.  So now I'm wondering if they will still all disenchant as Commons, or will those 12 cards have the higher rarities?  Technically the Core cards are not the same as the Basic versions of the same card, but would they assign them different rarities?

Personally, I'm only going to be dusting the golden Basic cards because I don't need them in gold, but I play a decent amount of Wild and I want to give Classic a try so I'll need the regular copies of all the cards for those modes (mostly for Classic though).

If all the Basic cards are assigned the white Common gem, all 143 (x2) golden Basic cards dusted as Commons is still 14,300 dust, or 100 dust short of crafting 9 legendaries.  But if these 12 cards follow their Core rarities, it's 16.100 dust for disenchanting all the golden Basic cards, which is just over 10 legendary cards worth of dust.

Either way I will be happy to cash in those golden basic cards for some major dust!  But still curious to see what happens with the rarity of these 12 cards at the rotation.

I have been opening on average 2 packs a day for about a month now playing Arena without a single legendary. Often I open more.

Cant help but feel they gave out more gold but passive agressively lowered the drop rate of them to stick it to us.

No, I have no proof of this but I've been playing this game for a while now and have a good feel of when one is around the corner. I've certainly opened more than 40.

I'm sure most of you will write this off as whining and am just seeing if anyone else is feeling the same way.

A mode where we have access to all cards. It would be nice if it was against other players but to be fair I will say strictly against friends.

I know Blizzard wouldn't really want a mode like this because it could possibly kill some pack sales but it would be really nice to have.

There wouldn't have to be any battlepass, class, achievement, or quest progression for this mode so players would just play it occasionally and not play it more than ladder or other modes you would want to make purchases for.

There are decks that people have never gotten the chance to play and would really like to including myself and can't do so because of the steep prices or not having enough dust to play everything you want, so a mode like this would really make players enjoy the game even more.

Also, card quantity would make the game much more harder for F2P players while majority would still use only a small selection of strongest cards. There are tons of card in Paladin, but I encounter only Libram or Big variants., because they are the strongest.

I was recently going through the cards set for the 2021 Core set and something dawned on me... This is adding a level of complexity to the game that I for one am glad is there.  Magic doesn't always mean universal.  There are those of us that have been playing Hearthstone since it was originally envisioned as the physical CCG years and years ago and watched it transition away from the physical CCG to an online format.  With that in mind, nearly all games of this nature start to develop more and intricate rules for the game to enhance it's ability to be played on competitive levels.  Now that Hearthstone is inching closer and closer to the decade old line, I have a question for those that love to play this game... With the update to Magic getting types, shouldn't it also stand to be that there be introduced weaknesses and invulnerabilities?

This can stem from the talent trees that were in World of Warcraft and a how it influenced the play of that character.  Mage for example.  Frost was typically weaker in power and impact but added other elements of control.  Fire was just raw beating, but cost more mana to drop the beats.  Arcane was the universal power buff and added smaller bonuses to Frost and Fire spells.  The caveats to focusing on any one type of elemental damage meant that there was a lack of power on other ones, and this also meant that while your Fire spells destroyed icy minions, but you dealt substantially less damage to fire based minions.

Now the question I have, since the magic types are going to be a part of Hearthstone going forward.. would anyone else like to see it interact appropriately with minions of opposing and like types?  Let's take Consecration for example.  It is labeled as Holy type magic.  If you look at other fantasy ideologies, Holy magic would decimate undead and evil creatures, while having minimal if any impact on like-types creatures like good Priests.  On those lines, if someone casts [Hearthstone Card (consecrate) Not Found] against a Shadow Priest and they have a Flesheating Ghoul on the board, I think it should deal more damage to those enemies because of the Holy type.

The other side of the coin would be that if played against another Paladin with an Aldor Peacekeeper on the board, it should do less damage or be negated entirely because a Paladin is a Holy warrior and the peacekeeper is an extension of their link to the divine. 

I understand that making a change like this may have a lot of coding that would cause most developers to have surplus of apathy, especially to cover all typed minions and heroes appropriately.... (think of the fun that could be had with the Hero cards from KotFT).

Just my thoughts as I was going through the cards is all and wonder what the community thinks.

With all the coming changes to classic, should I open the packs I got from Brawl, or should I keep it until rotation hits?

I know it's not a big deal, many of you reach Legend on a monthly basis, but well, I'm playing Hearthstone since 2015 and I wanted to share with you my satisfaction after reaching Legend for the first time!

I played a deck I enjoy a lot, Whirlkickmaster Rogue, so it was fun most of the time, but some days it was frustrating. Well, that's it, thanks for reading!

I am quite happy with Spell Tribes added to the game and that brings some posibillities to the game and questions to my mind.

I never thought that Rogues will get nature spells and then i learned that Poisons deal nature damage in WoW as a person who played WoW for a little time and it makes me ask the question that "What kind of synergy can a rogue get with nature tribe."

I can answer this question with the bunch of existent mechanics of Hearthstone;

1. There might be cards that discovers "Nature" spells
2. There might be cards that discounts the mana cost of "Nature" spells.
3. There might be cards that makes you draw "Nature" Spells or copy "Nature" spells.

Here comes the interesting part. Since Deadly Poison is the Nature spell, Does it mean that The weapon which is buffed with Deadly Poison will deal Nature damage like WoW?
If it is like that, it brings some opportunities to the game like Nature Resistance +X, Frost Resistance +X etc. or vice versa; Nature Vulnerability +X , Frost Vulnerability +X.

I mean, I really don't think that will the case for the core game, it will be so complicated for it but It makes sense when there will be upcoming Mercenaries game mode. I honestly think that there might be Resistance mechanics in it.

What do you think about it?

Sorry if this has been said elsewhere, but I wasn't able to find confirmation.  Will there be full dust refunds for the original classic dragon aspects that are rotating to wild similar to HoF rotations in the past? As someone who plays mostly Wild, I always look forward to the HoF rotation as a chance to craft all the cards in there gold version for "free".  

There's a ton to pick apart with the new Core Set (available to peruse now), but I figured it would be nice to have a thread where people can post their reactions. Here's some of what I'm particularly excited about after reviewing the set:

• Charge is nearly non-existent, only showing up on some class legendaries. Old neutral Charge minions got minor buffs and were converted to Rush.
• Warsong Commander is getting a major redemption
• Mage is losing its biggest board-wide freeze effects
• Lord Jaraxxus is going to be playable again
• Baron Rivendare is back in standard
• Loads of minor changes that might make a lot of once great cards good again (e.g. -1 cost to Sprint and Big Game Hunter, minor health buffs to lot of classic cards like Cairne Bloodhoof, Baron Geddon, etc.)
• Doomsayer effectively replaced with Explosive Sheep - should reduce the number of feel bad moments that come from randomly creating the neutral AOE minion in the game.

Is this the "reveal" day?

I don't think Warlock is currently OP, but I have come to dread these match-ups just as I did Priest because it typically means I'm going to face endless removal and healing until they can maybe pull off a win through value attrition (a la the Prime card, Envoy Rustwix, or Galakrond).  I know Warlock has always had strengths in these areas, but for some reason I haven't dreaded the match-up until this expansion.  Anyone else?

I think it's really the quantity of removal options that I find dispiriting as I see (2 copies of) these cards pretty much every match:

• Plague of Flames
• Soul Shear
• Dark Skies
• Hysteria
• School Spirits
• Cascading Disaster 
• Soulciologist Malicia

And then sometimes these ones:

• Fire Breather
• Twisting Nether
• Brittlebone Destroyer

Add to this a string of Soul Fragments negating a lethal set-up and the specter of Tickatus milling your outs and you have levels of annoyance I traditionally associated with Priest.  Again, it's not that I think current Warlock decks are too strong, but rather that I fear Team 5 has created another "fun and interactive" class identity.  Have you had a similar experience this expansion?

I recently stumbled across this passage in an InvenGlobal article, and it left me shaking my head:

By making the upcoming Core Set free to all players, Blizzard is looking to invite new players into their Hearthstone ecosystem while giving old players who have spent a great deal of money on the game a little break from opening their wallets.

"A little break from opening their wallets"? In what way, exactly? After all, old players who have spent a great deal of money on the game already had complete Classic collections. Hell, even free players who have been around since launch probably had all the Classic cards they would ever need. This move to a Core set does absolutely nothing for veteran players in terms of saving money, and it's disturbing how often I see the lie repeated.

Don't get me wrong: I think the Core set is a great move, a necessary move, for the game. I'm definitely looking forward to a meta that will get refreshed on an annual basis, adding even more meaning to the "Year of ..." paradigm. But can we please stop pretending this is some kind of cost savings for those of us who have actually supported the game for nearly seven years?

Now let's talk about Classic mode. Yes, some people are excited about it. How long that excitement can continue in a mode that is static by definition remains to be seen. But make no mistake: Blizzard didn't do this because they saw a demand for it. Basically no one was asking for anything like Classic mode, and if they were, it was a very tiny minority. Classic mode had to happen because the Core set is about to remove the one very large chunk of every Standard player's assets they could always count on, and Blizzard would have looked fairly villainous if they'd relegated all those cards to Wild and given nothing back. So now we have yet another "apology" game mode that requires no upkeep at Blizzard's end and that will see only a small fraction of the play Standard gets. But hey, at least they did something, right?

Again, I'm not even mad at the business decisions. They did what they had to do to move forward. I'm just pointing out the reality behind Activision's PR propaganda as they try to spin this in a more celebratory direction. The Core set, in and of itself, is worthy of celebration. The virtual removal of 373 cards from your collection is not. It is a necessary evil, and I think it's important to remember that 240 of those cards were not free. Making the Core set free to all isn't generosity; it's actually the very least Blizzard can do.

Deck ID Not Found

I won 2 games with this so far but both were against slow priest decks so I'm trying to improve it. If you think you see any changes I can make feel free to let me know.

COMBO: Shadow Hunter Vol'jin the Wisp to summon Malygos then use Innervate ( Coin and Lightning Bloom work as well just depends on the match but you have to keep one of those for the combo. ) to play Solar Eclipse + Germination to copy it and double Moonfire face.

Having a Imprisoned Satyr to play two turns before the combo is good sometimes too for more damage but it is purely RNG I was lucky enough to have it hit my Shadow Hunter Vol'jin and I was able to Solar Eclipse Moonfire and  Malygos for way more damage in the first iteration of the deck where I included it but I cut it out to attempt to have a stronger early game with Lunar Eclipse

I included cards like Bone Wraith, Winged Guardian, and Circus Amalgam for stall but there are probably better options. I originally had Teacher's Pet instead of Circus Amalgam and it was probably a bad change and there are probably better options to stall than both of those.
