Embiggen Dragon Druid [Updated]
- Dragon Druid
- Wild
- Ranked
UPDATE: With the nerfs and new cards from Galakrond's Awakening, this deck has changed and has massively improved. It's now a tier 1 deck! Who would've thought so.
This is a deck built around playing overstatted minions by buffing them with Embiggen, and ramping with Breath of Dreams.
Gameplay guide
Mulligan for Breath of Dreams, Embiggen and Strength in Numbers. Against aggressive decks and rogues, keep Faerie Dragon and Injured Tol'vir. If you have a good turn 1-2, also keep Bad Luck Albatross or SN1P-SN4P.
Control the early board with Faerie Dragon, Injured Tol'vir, Scalerider, Bad Luck Albatross, SN1P-SN4P, and Swipe.
Create big boardswings through Strength in Numbers and rush minions such as Oasis Surger, Zilliax and Evasive Wyrm.
Annoy the heck out of your opponent with strong Can't be targetted minions such as Faerie Dragon, Evasive Feywing and Winged Guardian, as well as by clogging up their deck with Bad Luck Albatross.
Gain value through Emerald Explorer and Big Ol' Whelp.
Defend your face with Zilliax and Emerald Explorer.
Win condition: Control the board through overstatted minions, go face. Swipe and Leeroy Jenkins can be used to give extra unexpected reach by going face.
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
Very cheap! Only 2 Epics, and 3 Legendaries of which 1 you got for free and 2 are ones that pretty much every Hearthstone player has crafted already.
After buffing, all of your minions have a stronger cost/power ratio than your opponent's. This will lead to the board swinging in your favour.
Mana ramp is busted.
Strong tempo tools in rush minions.
Dragons are very cool.
Winged Guardian is an amazing wall, that will slow down your opponent's momentum to a halt.
We're in a rogue meta, and this deck does amazing against them due to locking out their early game Backstab and Seal Fate by denying it with Faerie Dragon and Injured Tol'vir, which still develop your board.
Will only have 2 rotating cards in the next year, Zilliax and SN1P-SN4P.
Weaknesses
Vulnerable early game.
Embiggen does nothing on the turn it is played at the cost of a card.
Weak against wide boards and singular very large minions.
Possible substitutions
Bad Luck Albatross --> King Mukla (Stronger stats, but the effect is beneficial for your opponent instead of bad for them. Also costs a lot more dust.)
Bad Luck Albatross --> Frizz Kindleroost (Helps offset the mana cost increase of Embiggen, but doesn't affect all your minions. Also costs a lot more dust.)
Bad Luck Albatross --> Witching Hour (Strong late-game tempo by resurrecting your Winged Guardian, but useless early-game and when you draw it before your Winged Guardian.)
Bad Luck Albatross --> Dragonmaw Poacher (Strong unexpected tempo card, but only works against specific decks. Great in the mirror. Also combos very well with Leeroy Jenkins since the whelps are dragons.)
Leeroy Jenkins --> Bad Luck Albatross (Cuts down on the burst potential, but Leeroy Jenkins is often a dead card in hand and this will increase your early game. Also makes the deck even cheaper. Can also be substituted with one of the cards mentioned above.)
Leeroy Jenkins --> Reckless Rocketeer (Worse but free.)
Winged Guardian --> Evasive Drakonid (In case you don't feel like buying the new solo adventure. Also synergises better with your Dragon-loving cards, but a lot less sticky.)

Ysera, Unleashed is better than the normal one, but it is the best substitute.
Agreed, which is why I put it under the substitution section. However, the meta is so tempo dominated that I think both might not be the best choice, and you're better off running something like Twin Tyrant or Evasive Drakonid instead.
Are you actually winning thanks to Embiggen tho?:) Seems like the deck is built more midrange-ish and wins off that.
Good question! It's definitely a midrange deck, and it can win without Embiggen. However, Embiggen makes every card you play after it better than a card your opponent can play for the same cost, so I would definitely say it helps with winning.
Ok then :) Good luck!
