Return to Naxx

Return to Naxx is a Hearthstone patch released on Feb. 14, 2023. It was versioned 25.4.0 with the build number 165029. It was released during the expansion March of the Lich King

New Collectible Cards

New cards have been added to the game.

New Death Knight Cards

  • Frost Queen Sindragosa - With her final breath, Sindragosa cursed her consort and all who abandoned her to die in Icecrown. When she was reborn by the hands of the Lich King, her first freezing exhale wrought only pain.
  • Construct Quarter - It's not alive! IT'S NOT ALIIIIIVE!!!
  • Rimescale Siren - She will freeze the Scourge dead in their tracks.

New Demon Hunter Cards

New Druid Cards

  • Life from Death - Just because you came up with a nicer name for it doesn't mean that necromancy is any more justified.
  • Rake - When you're done shredding through your enemies, use it on your leaves!
  • Death Beetle - Well that'll be useless next expansion. WINK WINK.

New Hunter Cards

  • Faithful Companions - That's just how they cuddle!
  • ZOMBEEEES!!! - In your brain, in your brain, Zombees, Zombees, Zombees-ees-ees.
  • Trinket Tracker - Dashing through the snow On an undead trinket craze Over the hills we go Tracking all the way!

New Mage Cards

  • Whirlweaver - Of all the creations from the Construct Quarter, a naga combined with water is the most intuitive.
  • Spectral Trainee - After graduating at the top of her class from Scholomance, she was granted an eternal scholarship to study abroad in Naxxramas.
  • Tear Reality - One time it gave me a black flower, a smiling pot, and a foil first edition Dracthyr.

New Paladin Cards

  • The Purator - With the rise of the undead, the Curator sees it as his duty to take care of them.
  • Goldwing - This HAS to be worth more dust, right?
  • Knight of the Dead - A Paladin will follow their oath to slay the undead, even when they count themselves among them.

New Priest Cards

New Rogue Cards

  • Stitched Creation - To defend Naxxramas from the oncoming adventurers, the Scourge created a monstrosity the world had never seen before: an abomination wearing clothes!!
  • Jolly Roger - That's a great pose, Roger. But this time try happier, and with your mouth open.
  • Ransack - "Fred's a talking ghoul. He can do whatever he wants." "I want to steal!"

New Shaman Cards

New Warlock Cards

New Warrior Cards

  • Training Session - Instructor Razuvious's training turns the Scourge's Death Knights into hardened killing machines. His merciless routines focus on breaking down his underlings until they build up a resistance to his strength.
  • Fleshshaper - Even THIS is better than paper straws.
  • Hookfist-3000 - But wait! There's more!

New Neutral Cards

  • Thaddius, Monstrosity - Feugen is positive that Thaddius will see play, but Stalagg seems negative about it.
  • Rivendare, Warrider - More like the 4 Horsemen of the "Can't Get Here On Time."
  • Mistake - We like to think of it as a happy accident.
  • Lost Exarch - She resisted the temptation of the Burning Legion's power only to fall victim to the Scourge.
  • Darkfallen Shadow - Manathirst AND Reborn?! Pick a side!

Mercenaries Updates

Introducing Mythic Boss Rush

Mythic Boss Rush is here for action-packed end-game Mercenaries PvE content! At its core, Mythic Boss Rush is like a Zone where all the Bounties are short battles against a series of Bounty Bosses—without any filler, like Points of Interest or regular minion battles. Each day, a new Boss Rush will become available until they reset weekly.

Each Boss Rush consists of 3 Bounty Boss fights and then a final fight of two Bounty Bosses at the same time! The bosses all have random anomaly effects that make them stronger, based on a sliding difficulty setting you can choose for yourself. You earn Renown for each Boss Rush clear, with most of your rewards coming from your first clear, based on the difficulty setting you chose.

In Mythic Boss Rush, Renown can be spent to upgrade your Mercenaries even beyond Maxed! Spend your Renown on Abilities, Equipment, or shared Treasures, and get additional stat boosts with your upgrades. Those upgrades persist from Boss Rush to Boss Rush, from week to week, so you can take on tougher bosses and get more rewards over time. These upgrades don’t carry over to the other parts of Mercenaries, so you don’t need to keep pushing if you’d rather focus on The Fighting Pit or regular Bounties.

You’ll be able to unlock Mythic Boss Rush via a free upgrade to the Travel Point. The upgrade becomes available once you’ve unlocked Heroic Bounties and have at least one Maxed Merc.

New Factions and Updated Types

We’re adding Factions to Mercenaries! Factions are an additional classification system for grouping Mercs (similar to Types), representing various groups of characters in the game. A Mercenary’s Faction is depicted by a flag in the upper right corner of their card. These Factions are Horde, Alliance, Explorer, Empire, Legion, and Scourge. Additionally, “Pirate” is being converted from a Type into a Faction. We’re updating how several Abilities, Equipment, and Treasures interact with these new Factions, allowing for new synergies across types. Finally, we’re giving several Mercs a second Type with new dual-type Mercenaries, for even more potential combos and synergies between your Mercs!

Check out the recent Mercenaries Update for more information about dual-Types, the new Factions, and more.

Similar to before, standings will be based on a modified average wins per Arena run throughout an entire Arena season (minimum 30 runs). Will you be an Arena leader?

New Arena Season

On February 14, when Return to Naxxramas launches, all current Arena runs will end and a new Arena season will begin. The eligible sets will rotate so that the following sets will make up the Arena card pool:

  • Core
  • Forged in the Barrens
  • United in Stormwind
  • Fractured in Alterac Valley
  • Voyage to the Sunken City
  • Murder at Castle Nathria
  • March of the Lich King (including Return to Naxxramas)
  • Path of Arthas

Duels Update
