- Blizzard didn't bring this brawl back during the 2016 holiday season, leading to community outrage.
- The brawl came back in February 2017 as a re-release post-2016 holidays.
- This is the first brawl that rewarded a card back as the reward.
- Completing this brawl used to give you a Classic Pack if you already have the card back.
How it Works
- Build a custom deck using cards from your own collection.
- At the start of your turn, provided there is not a Winter's Veil Gift on your side of the field, Greatfather Winter will drop one off.
- Destroying a Gift will give you a Stolen Winter's Veil Gift.
- Stolen Winter's Veil Gift allows you to Discover a card from the class of the player the originating Gift minion came from.
- You are only able to receive cards that initially cost at least 5 mana.
- The cost of the card is reduced by 5 mana.
- You are unable to Discover weapons.
- You have a chance of seeing Hardpacked Snowballs in the Discover mechanic.
Holiday Fun
- Cards that swap Health and Attack can let you obtain gifts very early. See Crazed Alchemist.
- If you wipe the board out with a Doomsayer, you could end up with two Stolen Gifts!
- Buffing up your gift can make it an early threat. Priests have an easy time keeping gifts alive with their heals and can buff it easily with their kit.

Holiday Cheer!
Priest is absolutely busted in this brawl.
Everyone is playing warlock, which is quite good destroying gifts, but warlock can't offer something else besides that. But priest can OTK the opponent.
I'm running Mind Blast and Prophet Velen. So I just need to find Power Word: Replicate and/or Herald Volazj or another Velen in order to OTK the opponent. You can also find Holy Fire in gifts which is also excellent for OTK purposes.
And since warlock often deals damage to own face most of the time you need just 20 dmg, which is: Velen + Replicate/Volazj + Mind blast/Holy fire.
Everyone and their mother plays Warlock for this, so I went with Priest instead. Tried to use Clear Conscience on a big present, and it still got cleared by untargeted removal :/ Eventually got a win, but not as fun when they've got clears for days and you're just trying to get something large to stick.
I usually just use self sacrifice warlock and deny all the presents to my opponent... so much fun, Nemsy portrait is a must though
I dont get the card back is it normal?
I didn't have the card back and I got a pack as well...
A really aggressive deck is what I recommend. I was facing off against Open the Waygate Mage, and what often happened was that I killed his present, get a Firelands Portal, then used it to fire at my own present
I already have the card back, so it gave me a pack (popped up after winning)....except it's nowhere to be found :-(
I get a card back instead of a pack? I hate to be like Complainy McReddit, but damn. Wednesday is Free Pack Day, it's not much, but... I want my pack!
