This will definitely see play. And I am not sure how I feel about it.
On one hand, this looks like good fun and a nice callback to the original Yogg. On the other hand, nobody wants the game to end out of nowhere due to an unfortunate Rod of Roasting.
I hope I open this guy so that I can try him out. It will definitely be interesting to build decks around this guy and see how it works.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
too random
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
This Yogg is technically more likely to clear the board than regular yogg, but it's still too random to be used in a serious deck.
One thing to note is that if you put this in an infinite shudderwock deck it is much less likely to break the shudderwock chain by discarding your hand or transforming your board.
If you really want to waste someone's time (as well as yours), Violet Illusionist in play, target it with Darkspeaker, then get rod of roasting against 2k armour druid.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Super fun card. 10 spells is a piece of cake for cyclone mage. Priest should be able to get there without too much trouble, too. Paladin might take longer but Libram with Liadrin certainly does the job.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Rated as 5 star b/c it is the only appropriate score for our lord and savior.
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
Okay from whatt i can tell, Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate is better when your losing as most of it's effects are better when your losing. Which is perfect flavor, because that's how you play Yogg-Saron, Hope's End as well! Also the 10 spells thing fits well because of other yogg cards like Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron. The flavor on this card is really good, and i love the effects. Also one of the effects is liturally the old yogg effect! Also the 5% chance to get [Hearthstone Card (Wand of Roasting) Not Found] is terrifying, but kinda fun.
It's as EVERYONE knows, Yogg is ALWAYS lethal! (For someone)
This card is certainly the first card i will craft if i didn't pull it yet. People will certainly complain about it, and yogg will either get banned from e-sports stuff like grandmasters AGAIN, or get nerfed so it's effects stop when Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate dies, a.k.a. Yogg-Saron, Hope's End after it got nerfed as well. (Thankfully he got un-nerfed back into glory in wild.)
This is certainly be my favorite card of the expansion! TIME TO SPIN THE WEEL! :)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
This is definitely the most meme-y card they've ever made in the entire game. This actually makes the original card seem pretty tame by comparison. Its condition is pretty easy for most decks to meet. Its Constructed viability is one to question because of how random it is, but it will absolutely see play on the basis that it's Yogg-Saron and a funny card.
Yogg is Life, and now, Yogg is also Death.

Everybody gangsta until Yogg pulls out the Rod of Roasting.
Also seeing as how most of Yogg's options are basically board clears with upside (47% if you count Curse of Flesh), this could actually see play not as a build around but as a control card in decks like Priest, Mage, Druid, Shaman.
Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.
This card without Rod of Roasting is a very cool, albeit random card. This card with Rod of Roasting is the most degenerate crap ever designed. That effect on a PvE setting can be fun, on PvP is incredibly frustrating to play against.
And yes, it's only a 1/20 chance AFTER playing the card, but think of it this way: a game show where, out of 40 coin tosses, you need to just get heads once to win 10000€/$/whatever currency is in your country or you'll have to pay the same amount. You flip the 40 coins. You get 40 tails. That's how it feels to see the opponent get Rod of Roasting on a game you have won otherwise.
Now, imagine this is the finals of the HCT.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
For anyone interested in what Yogg Saron can give you, and the percentages. Needless to say, pyro to win is 5% to cast.
Mind control 3 guys, and pyro for the win is definitely broken. Expect druid, priest, rogue and mage to main abusers. Maybe shaman can get in for some value. But bottom line is that this card basically decides games, and will definitely see competitive play.
I feel like this is a great card to play if you are behind on board, as a few options deal with your opponents board nicely.
The spell option can be hit or miss. Rid of roasting is just...yea
Hope this card get's banned in competitive play.
It's a fun card, but losing to this in a tournament should not be allowed to happen.
Blizzard:"we will print less rng cards in the future"
also Blizzard:
Wow... This is a creative and nice follow-up to OG Yogg. This is more likely to swing the game in your own favor, but I really don't like the inclusion of Rod of Roasting. Nope.
I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Plays like the original, but with more positive results available. Less likely to kill you outright.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Seems generically good most of the time, and dramatically better than the original Yogg Saron since many of the effects allow for some level of player control.
Demon hunter could be one of the classes that gets some really good use out of it with their cheap spells and blur
If I play a 10 mana card and someone doesnt die from it, I are dissapoint
If my avatar image doesn't say it, 5 stars.
Talking competitibely not sure if this is better or worse than old yogg, at least now you don't need a big amount of spells to make the card better.
So glad that I am able to be part of a yogg expansion, missed the first one but this one seems even better for the chaos that I want from yogg
I'm not sure what are your expectations for Yogg
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Randomly funny.
5/5, obviously.
By The Holy Light!
Even if I lose to a Yogg's Rod I will die happy.
Hope to try wil Yogg mage for puzzle box x2, whispers Yogg and this one.
Come one, come all to the Yogg's Casino
I can see Team 5 really love Yogg, considering they put all this effort into new art and a brand new, never-seen-before mechanic, it will wreck havoc on Standard, but hey, what's more RNG in an already RNG-infested game xD
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
I will totally play this card.... in casual games. RNG is super fun which is why it is a continual theme in Hearthstone. However, I don't see this being competitive.
It's so easy to abuse this, 10 spells is nothing in this "created by" meta. Mages and Priests can cast 10 spells by turn 7 sometimes lol. I have a feeling that 10-spell requirement will be nerfed sometime in the future, if the meta becomes way too reliant on RNG because this card is getting abused.
That said, this is something you'll probably only play when you're behind, kind of a Hail Mary play like the old Yogg. You're not gonna drop this when you're way ahead and risk losing to Rod of Roasting.
I can't wait to see some double Yogg decks in Wild, those games are gonna be crazy haha
Praise Yogg!!
I kinda like it.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Imagine making it to the HCT finals without fully understanding and acknowledging that this card exists. Any competitor who doesn't accept Hearthstone as it is (and always has been) doesn't really deserve to win the HCT.
I hate this new Yogg, because it is too much randomness...
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
Ok, now imagine aknowledging this card exists, make it to finals and lose, not because your opponent used generated resources better or because he was able to dictate the pace of the game but because RNG pointed at your face more times than your opponents face.
I don't mind RNG, I don't even high variance RNG. When done right, RNG can make games exciting and unpredictable. But, in my opinion, a 1/20 chance to simply toss a coin under the disguise of big balls of fire being thrown around is not good design, especially when considering said design is just recycling a gimmick that was made on a PvE scenario, where game balance isn't as important.

I don't care if he's viable, I don't care if he's toxic, I don't care if that wheel ruins his otherwise godly summon animation/music (ok I kinda care about that), Yogg has finally returned to us and he gets 5 stars. On a serious note, the build around for this doesn't seem too hard for a handful of archetypes. Mage and Rogue are obvious spell spammers, but Libram Pally could actually use this as a board clear/swing/win con in the late game.
Competitive Hearthstone players have been dealing with random effects from the very beginning, and Blizzard devs have never been particularly apologetic about it.
My point is, anyone who is a competitive player may want to choose a different game altogether if they find this kind of outcome overly bothersome. Hearthstone has never been the best fit for such players, and it is not incumbent upon Hearthstone's devs to make the game more friendly to players who can't roll with the punches, random though they may be.
If one player hates this card and decides not to compete in HCT because of it, there are thousands of others who are willing to step up.
The devs have said in an interview that each Old God will get an artifact spell that are throwbacks to the original Old Gods, so unless they already counted Puzzle Box towards those, there will be even more random incoming.
It's a fun hail Mary card with interesting effects, but I really sympathize with the competitive players that will have to put up with this shi* in tournaments. It would only be fair to the players if this was banned competitively, but blizzard wants the tournaments to be an exciting viewing experience so it's not likely to happen.
Yogg my boi welcome back
TOTAL CORRUPTION
TOTAL POWAAAAAAA
YOGGERS! coughs I like it letting yoggy boy take the wheel has never back fired before so I expect this to be played a fair bit even outside of meme decks since he can wipe the board or kill everyone
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
For the love of God, I hope it's not good enough for competitive play. Imagine that 5% effect might determine who is going to be world champion... sigh.
This is it, the one card I truly long for in this expansion.
Gotta love the "RNG bad" crowd, though.
Mulligan decides who wins - okey dokey
Top-deck decides who wins - fine by me
Drawing a tech card at the right time with the right match-up and winning thanks to it - great design
Match-up deciding who wins - A+ stuff
Discolock winning or losing based on what cards get discarded - no complaints here
Soul shards/Bombs/Albatrosses being drawn - lol pretty epic
Phase Stalker/Mad Scientist pulling the right secret needed to dominate early game - nice
Aggro match where each player only draws 5 random cards out of their 25 - nothing wrong with it
10-mana card that does unpredictable, possibly backfiring stuff after being built around - OMFG blizzard why u release rengo cards? rip skill in hearthstone
Honestly, to me it feels like the real issue is that it makes the randomness too obvious and people realize how little control they actually have over their games, but who knows. I just hope that, if people really get angry over Yogg existing in the game and ruining their skill (again), Blizzard just rotates him to Wild early. If Yogg gets nerfed while Baku and Genn taint Wild unchanged, I'll be quite pissed lol.
Psst! Hey, you want to play a couple of fun (albeit pointless) gamebooks? Become a king here, and a babysitter here.
Yoggers. Cant wait to get pyroblasted. I will be putting this in every deck just for the chance of maybe willing off of pyroblast, because I think that would be funny as hell.
"Some inspirational quote from some famous person" - Some famous person
1 card OTK. Will be thrown into some mage decks for fun memes.
Sounds like an amazing fun card, it might be incredibly broken but damn it is fun
All hail the banshee queen.
This is a straight upgrade on old Yogg.
True Yoggsanity. Two options that seem good for consistent board control, one option that hearkens back to the original card, two options that leave your hand or the board full of randomness, and one option that will absolutely end the game that turn. What's not to love?
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
I love the fun randomness of the wheel options.
I got this as my level 1 legendary. Going to have to try it, I suppose, if I have to.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
Just seems like a strong and fun card with minor deck-building restrictions.
This ain't no place for a hero
PRAISE BE ONTO YOGG SARON, GOD OF DEATH!!!
*Gets Rod of Roasting*
*Only hits own board and face*
PRAISE BE ONTO YOGG, HIS WAYS MYSTERIOUS AND BEYOND MORTAL UNDERSTANDING!!!
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Bow down before the God of Random. Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate is a proven card with Mysterybox plus the mostly consistent other outcomes. If anything holds Yogg back, it's that he's a catchup card rather than a win condition, but that isn't going to stop Druid and Mage from running Yogg.
For glory, honor, and gold!
A very good comeback mechanic, but very rarely game-winning on its own. It feels a bit like a plug-and-play legendary for the vast majority of control decks just because of its ability to get you out of an otherwise unwinnable situation for very little investment beyond what you were already doing.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Will craft him golden today PRAISE YOGG!
The God of RNG returns! Praise Yogg!
Hahahhahahaha.... I love it. Literally Yogg take the wheel. I don't even care if they end up having to tweak the numbers on its abilities, I just love the idea of Yogg and I'm so happy to see him back in Standard.
Welcome to the site!
I have had Yogg played against me twice, and both times I was briefly disconnected, just long enough to miss what he did. Has this happened to anyone else?
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Yep, both times played against me, i crashed.
Had the card once in duels. After having cast enough spells (it said 'ready'), i used the card and it was a normal 10 mana 7/5 that did nothing.
Seems like it's Yogg Saron, Master of Bugs....
I've played him 3 times without any issues. I only got the disconnect when my opponent played him.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Has anyone else played a Yogg that says "Ready" and had him just do nothing? Happened to me yesterday.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
It happens if a spell gets Countered or gooed by Oh My Yogg. It advances the card text but not the actual effect. It's an annoying bug.
You can at least tell if it happened - the border won't be yellow if it isn't active, even if it says "Ready".
A man is lying on the street, some punks chopped off his head
I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead.
Hmm. Turns out he's dead.
Thanks, good to know. Didn't think to check the border. Damn, that is annoying, though. Cost me the game (well, cost me a really good chance at saving the game, I should say).
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
