Questilion for ipad pro users

Hello guys, im planning to buy an ipad pro 2018 for my work and of course i want to be able to play hearthstone there...

So i wanted to ask you how is the performance of hearthstone on ipad pro and if you find it satisfying!

Also one more question..., currently im an android user so i cant multitask to play hearthstone on split screen and if i want to open another app and then go back to hearthstone, it has to reaload from the beginning which is veeeery annoying...

So, is multitasking in split screen available on ipad pro ( for ex. Twitch and hearthstone)? And if no, then if i open another app and then go back to heartstone,  will it reload from the beginning or will continue from where i was?

      I'm not sure about much newer pro, I have somewhat aged iPad 4. While playing hearthstone on it started great, performance of latest expansions has declined. After a 3-5 battles (or maybe respective number of effects played) it slows down to a slideshow (literally 2-3 fps) until you restart.

      Again, not sure about pro with newer ios. When switching apps, it usually keeps it alive for a small time, after which it'll have to load again after switching back.

  • It’s a bit off topic but I would be grateful for any useful information about tablets for hearthstone. I prefer apple, too but would consider other devices nevertheless. 

  • I have the 12.9” iPad Pro from 2018, and of course the performance is flawless.  Blizzard still hasn’t updated the app to fit completely into the corners of the screen yet, though.  Mystifyingly, they actually did about two months after the new Pro was released, but subsequent updates have rolled back the change.  It’s not too big of a deal, though.  There is just a tiny black border around the edge of the app.

    It’s important to note that Blizzard has not made Hearthstone to be adaptive with its layout, so Hearthstone will not split screen with anything else.  This is understandable, of course, but it will still prevent you from doing any split screen with Hearthstone.  You can, however, have a twitch stream turned into a picture-in-picture window, which you can freely position anywhere you want around the screen while you play Hearthstone.

    As far as the app reloading to the beginning which briefly switching to another app, I will say that Hearthstone USED to not do this (unless you you were gone for a while).  But with the latest update, I have received text messages (which pop up in the top of the screen) that I have pulled down on to instantly reply to (it doesn’t switch apps, is just lets you reply right there in the notification window and move on), and it has dumped me back to the Hearthstone main menu.  It didn’t restart the app, it just dropped me out of my game, and as soon as I tried to push any of the buttons on the main menu, it reconnected me to my game.  This was very weird behavior, and is an artifact of this new update.  I have a feeling they will be stabilizing this update very soon, as I have seen all kinds of people complaining about the mobile versions.  But prior to this update, I was able to leave the app, jump over and start a Skype session, and then jump back into the app with no problem.  And if I open an app in flyover mode (floating above the current app in a quarter-screen-width window) it never messes with Hearthstone.  That’s usually how I add my decks to Hearthpwn or Outof.cards.

  • Man really thank you for you derailed analysis!! I think it will cover my needs and that the new IpadOS will make more and more apps adjust better!

  • Would an Android tablet be any good for your needs? The reason I ask is deck tracker works with Android and I don't think there is a version for iOS.

      I know that is a problem (that i actually think that its a matter of time for them to fix it), but i cant judge based on hearthstone. For my work is excellent, so hearthstone is a "+1" if can be played good

    • I also have an HP Omen for gaming and stuff as a primary machine i work on, but the experience on tablet is also very excting for me as far as Hearthstone stuff

  • HearthStone is not optimized for the new iPad Pro resolutions. You will see black borders on a screen.

  • I've been playing on a first gen 12.9" Pro for a long time. I think it runs great except for right around patches when Blizz always seems to screw something up for iPad versions that gets fixed usually quickly. The game runs super smoothly, and I love the large-screen touch play. It's definitely my preferred mode of play between iphone and macbook. (Yes, apple fanboy). 

    Like I said, it occasionally gets quirks that don't exist on the PC version. For weeks there was in issue with the app quitting while trying to make a deck. It was widely reported, and just took Blizz forever to fix it. Others, like not being able to login for like an entire day after the last patch, usually get resolved quickly,

      Whenever there is a bug that affects some iOS users and not others, and it is affecting you, just close all your apps and do a full power down and reboot of the device.  It fixes the issue pretty much every single time.  For instance, I didn’t have either of the problems that you mentioned, and I’ve played Hearthstone on some iOS device or another every single day since it launched

  • I have read some tests and since I can't afford an iPad I came up with the idea of getting a Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite 10. Good rating in all categories, the price is okay-ish (180-200 Euro for the Wifi version). 

    I know about the google ban but there is a dedicated website from Huawei which guarantees further use of android software, apps and updates.

    So my questions are:

    1) Does any of you know of a better tablet for Hearthstone and Skype for 200 Euro max?

    2) Does any of you know more about the risks of buying Huawei stuff regarding the google ban?
