It's a funny card for Casino Mage, I don't see it being much else. Maybe you could theoretically use this in an aggro deck to beef up your spells for the late game, but I don't see this card ever being used in a serious deck. Cards like this, Explore Un'Goro, and Renounce Darkness that basically say "your deck is random cards now" will never be good or competitive.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Hey so you play secret mage then you cast this, you transform your secrets into 6 drop spells that cost 3, then you draw 3 mana Skull of Gul'dan and then you have 6 drop spell that cost 0... Seems balanced

I don't know if this card will be really great, but I bet it is really great fun lol. Also, take that bomb warrior!
This is insane. The randomness makes it inconsistent, but this will surely be a fun card.
Renounce Darkness 2.0 here! I don't see much competitive viability in including this card in your deck, as you include spells in your deck to achieve a desired and controllable effect. Deck of Lunacy essentially throws away the consistency of your spells in an attempt to create possible future power spikes. However, the real issue here is that you now have less of an idea of what you're going to draw and can plan less around it. Solid meme card though!
For glory, honor, and gold!
Its just a fun card. Apparently mage is the only class that is mandatorily required to be designed like a slot machine, which only occasionally becomes cancerous to play against.
I honestly have fun against players that run those decks. Maybe because I also like playing that and I respect them.
Spell mage, aka no minion, will be playing this, it's very random, but I like it anyway
Full spell mage maybe? You lose the syngery cards like Apexis Blast, but effectively upgrading every card in your deck sounds spicy enough.
it trasforms to any spells not just mage ones , it is just a fun card .
What? Your BOMBS are evolving!
Congratulations, your BOMBS have evolved into POWER OF CREATION!
This ain't no place for a hero
Thanks, I just found the gameplay video, and it did create Paladin cards.
It's not just a "fun" card, though. Almost any high-cost card can be good when it costs 3 less.
It doesn't specify "Mage spells" though like other Mage cards that only generate Mage spells.
So I'm pretty sure you can get spells from other classes from this.
Random spells is worse than random mage spells.
That card is extremly random to be really competitive, but can see play on some hard spells decks, Who knows?
By The Holy Light!
Meme fodder, I can't see this being consistent enough to see much competitive play. But it sure does counter Bomb Warrior.
RNG with steroids ...

Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I wonder which mana slot has the best spell pool? I do think this could see competitive play, depending on how narrow the pools are and whether Bombs exist.
Better call Thrall!
Pretty strong but inconsistent card for casino mage.
Unfortunately for me, I hate that archetype.
This the second Deck of *** card we've had so far (Deck of Chaos) I wonder if we'll get anymore
Disclaimer: if the above is factually incorrect or complete rubbish it is definitely both intentional and comedy genius.
In an all spells deck, you can play Deck of Lunacy into Incanter's Flow. Baring in mind you have both cards in hand. I think playing Incanter's Flow first would have a negative effect as you technically be transforming the spells into ones that cost (2) more?
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Now mage has access to a spells-in-deck only Renounce Darkness, I guess? Effects like this have never been competitive, and I can't see why this one would change that.
I can't imagine any deck would want this, just by the fact that any spells that require synergy are useless, and you will probably have excessive amounts of removal with no threats.
This post is discussing the wild format.
This seems like a powerful card to me, it's a much better renounce darkness so it could see play.
Seems like we will get another "Deck of X" legendary in 4 hours, probably Deck of Furies or Deck of Storms as a Shaman legendary spell and probably for 4 mana.
I personally don´t like this card, as much as I didn´t like Renounce Darkness. That´s the main reason I think I´ll open it in my packs :D
On the other hand, could be used in fun meme decks, but not really competitive imho.

Sadly this card can be easily randomly generated.. To ruin your deck or have a useless card in hand for the rest of the game...
I would rather discount my entire deck by one mana with Incanter's Flow (which sadly didn't actually work..)
rather than playing this card that randomizes (from any class... this is stupid) them and then reduces by 3
1/5 in balance and 1/5 in design, the design of the mage cards this expansion is atrociously bad, totally out of flavor, buff an obnoxious wild deck (secret mage) or just terrible rng like this card..
Hmm, hard to judge this card. On one side it seems really powerfull and broken in spell mage, because you can turn your Rolling Fireballs and Apexis Blast into Deep Freeze, Power of Creation and if it can give you spells from ANY class, Inner Demon, Twisting Nether, and in wild Call of the Wild and Free From Amber... on turn 5... And this hardcounters bomb warrior, and gives you those good 8 mana spells... Also you can turn your Ray of Frosts and other 1 cost spells into 1 mana Fireball, but the 4 mana slot will be way worse if it does give you spells from any class, because of cards like Dire Frenzy, Dr. Boom's Scheme and in wild Cataclysm.
Standard: This will probably see play in some kind of memey spell mage list. Probably with Raid the Sky Temple and The Amazing Reno for maximum memes/RNG. But as we all know, these days "random" can be competitively viable, so we better keep a watchful eye on Deck of Lunacy... Also if it only gives mage spells, Deck of Lunacy will be really strong because you can semi-tutor cards like Fireball...
Wild: This will 99% see play in some kind of casino mage. Why wouldn't it see play. Okay sure it get's rid of a lot of other "random" cards, like Deck of Wonders, Effigy, Evocation, Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron and Unstable Portal. But it does give you the ultimate RNG clown fiesta in return. (mostly if it does give spells from ANY class. But if it doesn't then it might see les play in Casino mage because it's not random enough.)
So essentially potentially Fun meme card like Renounce Darkness, if it gives spells from ANY class. And a strong aggressive tool if it only gives mage spells.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Looks like a fun card - mostly for Meme and Fun Decks.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
One thing you need to keep in mind: if you play this, every single spell discounts Mana Giant. Every single spell still synergises with spell lovers like Mana Cyclone and Sorcerer's Apprentice. Yes, this is extreme RNG, but the current spell mage can use the random spells for their advantage. I just believe that instead of running spells like Conjurer's Calling, a deck with Deck of Lunacy might run other cheap spell loving minions like Dune Sculptor.
PS: Do Deck of Chaos and Deck of Lunacy represent the Old Gods? And if yes, can we expect two more Deck of *Old God Reference* cards?

Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Dude, great point! This counters Bomb Warrior so hard!

My curiosity lies in will they be class specific spells, or any class spells? If it is class specific, then it limits the types of spells transformed and leaves the potential to have tons of Blizzards in a deck. On the other hand, getting DH or Warlock cards in your mage deck can be really really scary
I just worry about card draw in a deck like that. Your Mage draw spells are going to get transformed along with everything else. Do you hold this until you have those in hand, or just cross your fingers and hope you get some draw in your "upgraded" spells? Or maybe rely on minion-based draw?
How do you see these pairing up with Old Gods? Lunacy = C'Thun, Chaos = Yogg, perhaps? I can imaging a N'Zoth version (Priest?) that transforms your minions into random Deathrattle minions of higher cost (that don't actually cost more). As for Y'Sharrj ... maybe Druid or Warrior? Does a similar thing, but gives you Rush minions?
Well, as far as the no draw scenario, I agree entirely, which is why the first spell loving minion that came to my head was Dune Sculptor, which can allow you to get enough value to keep you in the game and to somewhat compensate the loss of draw. As a side note, I decided to quickly check the number of spells in standard that cost between 4 and 6 mana, seeing as how most mage spells played tend to be between 1 and 3 mana (didn't count spells from the new expansion) and there are 12 spells in around 80 cards that draw cards, so around 15% are drawing spells (not too many, but I actually expected a smaller number, though the big draw bombs sit mostly at 6 mana).
As far as the Old Gods pairing, I honestly don't know, I never played WoW. But, I did go to WoWpedia yesterday and according to them, C'thun is the god of chaos, Yogg is the god of death, N'Zoth is the god of corruption and Y'Shaarj is the god of rage (so no lunacy, but lunacy can be seen as a result of corruption). So, as far as pairing possible remaining cards with the Old Gods, I can guess Deck of Rage (or some synonym), if placed on Warrior, it can be something similar to your idea, though I believe it could be something along the lines of "Minions in your deck have rush. If they already had Rush, reduce their cost by X". No idea how to connect a possible Deck of Death, but your deathrattle minion idea is possible (maybe a deck of Undeath, that gives minions in deck a deathrattle that summons lower cost minions like the Tavern Brawl that sometimes shows up).
EDIT: Just realized that Deck of Rage idea can't go to Warrior, they already have both legendaries revealed. The only classes with unrevealed legendaries are Priest and Shaman right now. Priest fits the Deathrattle theme, Shaman is not a primary target for Rush mechanics, though they do have a couple of Rush minions.

MEMES! For one of my favorite/most hated archetypes, I think this might see a bit of play in meme decks but I can't see this being run unironically
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
Insane value card, best Mage card of this expansion probably.
Very random and not very good. This can transform bombs if Bomb Warrior takes off again, but don't think this see much play elsewhere.
I don't care if it's not good, I want to play it in every deck anyways. Also, love that the spells are from any class. Makes it a lot more random.

Fun card, i dont even care if it's broken or not i want to try it out
All hail the banshee queen.
Casino mage had enough already. Can we please stop with this and start giving mage something better?
Interesting choice both as a high roll for casino mage and a tech against bombs or bloods (in wild). The fact that it can get any class spell seems to me that it won't be a very consistent game plan.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Pretty consistent unconsistency. You can "cheat" your deck in order to have a high chance of getting a cheaper Mind Control.
Anyway playing against it, seems the final ingredient to be finally tired of RNG plays.

I still think it's scary when Mage has plenty of 1-cost spells to stuff their decks, turning them into discounted 4 mana spells.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Good meme, bad card.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Oh, I love it. I know it'll be bad (I hope it'll be bad) but I love cards like this and I can't wait to lose spectacularly after pulling random nonsense from my all-spell deck.
Welcome to the site!
The fact that the spells keep the original cost makes this pretty crazy. It'll make for some Trollden moments for sure
This card is getting out of hand very quickly. It used to be a total crapshoot, but now with the newly cultivated Core set, most of the "bad" spells have been removed so you are much more likely to get high-value stuff. I've been on the giving and receiving end of some seriously unfair swings. For one example, Turn 7 Nagrand Slam to clear my board, leaving all 4 Kodos alive, followed by Turn 8 Survival of the Fittest. I've had several opponents have the Deck in their opening hand, followed by Refreshing Spring Water (not that it matters, but why isn't that a Nature spell?) for some crazy early game nonsense.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
This card was not problem with old sets.
Now like mentioned above there is small number of spells that means all 7 Mana spells (and Mage have couple of those) will turn into Nagrand Slam or Survival of the Fittest
Cheating high mana Mage and Druid spells is problem.
This card can turn to bad again (or at least worse) when we receive new spells.
I love when people call a card trash then complain when it becomes broken later on. The card was broken since it came out.
HOT TAKE: The best nerf to the card is nerfing its Cost, NOT the Cost of generated spells. Yes, nerfing the Cost of generated spells to (2) may get rid of Nagrand Slam and Survival of the Fittest from your Flamestrike, but that would turn them into Libram of Hope, which removes the intended weakness of Mage - survivability. Discounted Librams of Hope are already so nasty, now imagine them in a class that is not designed around having no way to prevent face damage from sticking. And the 10-Cost spells would still be there, just by adding different cards like Deep Freeze.
Also a small side note that with the current Cost of generated spells From Deck of Lunacy, currently only Apexis Blast can generate some great defensive cards like Cenarion Ward, Tidal Wave or even Deep Freeze still, where the change to the Cost of the generated cards would make sense, as currently no Mage spell costs (6) in Standard, but again, because of Librams, it's out of the question. One thing is that the change would also make the amount of not added Mask of C'Thun evaporated, and the card draw reduced a little bit due to 3-Cost spells not turning into 6-Cost card draw cards. Still, just giving too much potential survivability to Mage with Deck of Lunacy because of that nerf to the Cost of generated spells to (2) seems too much for me to outweigh the positives.
TL;DR It's best to nerf the initial cost of Deck of Lunacy to prevent Mage from getting too many survival tools out of the randomly generated spells. The current pool that Deck of Lunacy transforms spells into is already very light on healing, with only Siphon Soul and maybe Tidal Surge doing the trick.

Yep it has a ton of burn + draw + high roll with lunacy + mana cheat
It's basically demon hunter.
Yeah, the reason it's busted now is not just the increased consistency and power level of Deck of Lunacy, but also Refreshing Spring Water. That card is 0 mana draw 2 at worst, and usually 0 mana draw 2 refresh 1 or 2 mana crystals. Incanter's Flow was already insanely strong in that deck, but combining it with Refreshing Spring Water made it the T1 behemoth it is now. Both Deck of Lunacy and Refreshing Spring Water should probably have their cost increased by 2.
I hope they nerf this card to unplayability.
I want to play spell mage without this card.
Actually, EU GM caster Sottle mentioned that he went 20-6 with a No Minion Mage deck that did not include Deck of Lunacy, and then he was later convinced to add the card, and he realized how busted it was.
So @JackJimson, you can comfortably play No Minion Mage without the card.

@Neoguli, yeah, but I don't want to play it in a meta when everyone else is playing lunacy mage. It feels like I'm purposely handicapping myself.
Also everyone in the meta is actively hard countering mage, and without lunacy, no minion mage loses the high roll potential to win an unfavored matchup (like vs poison rogue).
So this is why I prefer that the card gets deleted (hopefully, 4 mana is enough but I'm doubtful).
Still too early to tell. I agree that it might still be a strong deck even after the Deck of Lunacy nerf, but the other nerfs could allow faster decks to see play again. The nerfs to Sword of the Fallen and Pen Flinger could hurt the dominant Paladin archetypes, while the weakened watchposts (particularly Mor'shan Watch Post) could encourage players to play aggro decks again. The latter is something that Spell Mage doesn't want to see, given how it struggles against aggro decks or even those that go wide.
I'm guessing Spell Mage will be mid-to-lower tier 2 after the nerfs go live, since I'm expecting minion-focused decks to be the norm again. I'm guessing a Tempo Warrior or some form of Aggro DH and Hunter will crop up. The current meta is just one of the weirdest and most frustrating ever.
