I have a hard time seeing a world in which a 6/7 Taunt that deals 7 damage to a minion isn't a great card. It's basically Siamat but with an extra keyword.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Will be better in arena than constructed, but it's pretty mediocre
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
6/7 taunt with a "battlecry" to deal 7 dmg to a minion is mediocre? you have pretty high standards lol

Its a decent card on its own, but the problem is exactly that. Druid typically plays broken cards + ramp for the win, and I'm having difficulty imagining this being part of anything druid would want to do, now that Embiggen and highlander druid will be gone when this releases. There's a slim hope for this that something from the core set can save it (its still a decent rush-to-taunt card) but Im doubtful.
great card; fits on curve after overgrowth to help u regain the board. smash a 5/5 and develop a 6/7 taunt. (and i assume the taunt keeps beast synergy for n'zoth summons).
this card is going to be a workhorse for druid.
Great card. Druid needed some HARD removal, even though hard removal is something that supposed to be druids weakness. It's also a beast, so it can get ressurected by N'Zoth, God of the Deep. Druid of the Plains kinda reminds me of Siamat, it's great removal and pretty flexible. (For multiple druid decks.)
Standard: I think Druid of the Plains will see play in N'Zoth, God of the Deep druid deck, or Clown Druid.
Wild: Not sure if it will see any play. The most popular druid decks in wild are Token Druid and Malygos OTK Druid, and Malygos OTK Druid doesn't want Druid of the Plains because it messes up Juicy Psychmelon pulls? (Not familiar with the deck, so i'm not 100% sure about that.)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Looks pretty fantastic for ramp Druid. It's basically an easy way to catch up after ramping with Overgrowth on 4. You run this into whatever it can survive and you just removed a minion while putting a fat taunt in the way.
On the flipside opponents can play around it by building a high attack threat that it can't trade into and live
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Wow - strong card. Works as Hard Removal for Druid i guess.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Great card, removes one minion and transforms into 6/7.
What's the most powerful card in Hearthstone?
A credit card.
This is not hard removal like for example Naturalize was: if you're facing Deathwing, this is useless. This is soft removal, for very unsubtle values of "soft" ;)
Real nice card. Strong, with 2 bodies and a beast tag. Could definitely see play. Is it strong enough though? Druid has had lot of powerful things to ramp into. Definitely seems like a contender for N'zoth style decks but the front half is the one you want back. The taunt side isn't aweful but still clutters the rez pool a bit.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
This will be nerfed to 8 mana. Mark my words.
Beast druid looks good with that card.
Minion removal+good body with taunt for 7 mana is strong in a class with lack of removals.
By The Holy Light!
Nice. It can hit something for 7 damage, and as long as that something doesn't have 6 or more attack, it will transform into a taunt minion and get all its health back +1.
That's Coilfang Warlord with a condition, DH already has this OP card but plays aggro. Being a druid card make it more consistent, especially a beast who can be summoned by Guardian Animals or copied with Shan'do Wildclaw. I bet this year druid will receive a lot of beast synergy since they already announced Menagerie Warden would be in the classic set for the year of the griffin.
Murlocs <3
This can't be summoned by Guardian Animals, which only summons beasts that cost 5 or less.
What beast are you playing that you would rather see resurrected than a 6/7 taunt? Usually I'm already content to get Circus Amalgam back.
Oops ! But still I think druid will have a lot of beast synergy this year
Murlocs <3
Fleethoof Pearltusk
Marsh Hydra
Winged Guardian
I know the guardian is going out soon. Like I said a 6/7 taunt isn't bad but I tend to prefer rush for immediate action or reborn for sticking around if I can get it.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
This card's value will be entirely based on whether it survives its first trade. If not, it's just a 7 mana removal (possibly not even that). If it does, it's massively good.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Winged Guardian is a strictly better resurrection indeed. Whether taunt or rush is better depends on the situation: rush gives you more control, but versus a wide board you run the risk of removing one minion and then getting hit in the face by the rest. It also depends on what other minions you have in the rez pool: all-taunts is vulnerable to AoE, so you probably want a mix of rush, taunt and deathrattle.
Druid of the Plains is more defensive when first played than Marsh Hydra and easier to play early than a corrupted Pearltusk, which is important if there is any aggro in the meta. I think that advantage would outweigh the small differences in resurrect value, since it will come up more often: both because you can play Druid of the Plains as a 2-of and because you have to get through the early game before you get to play N'Zoth.
If your opponent already has a big minion in play by the time you draw Druid of the Plains, you do have the option to sacrifice the first half and then try to get the frenzy to trigger on the N'Zoth turn. I don't think this will come up often, but it might when two slower decks face each other.
If you summon it on turn 5 using Overgrowth or Lightning Bloom, it's quite likely to survive the trade. Later in the game it might not survive every trade, but then you probably have more freedom to pick the right moment for it.
Coilfang Warlord is an insane card that doesn't get spotlighted since it's in DH, a class that doesn't need to play a card above six mana thanks to Skull of Gul'dan. Druid of the Plains is basically a Warlord adjusted to be seven mana, but instead of needing the front half to die, you need the frost half to survive. Seeing how Druid is looking to have some serious beast synergy with the return of Menagerie Warden and they'll still have Overgrowth that curves into Druid of the Plains, I see some serious competitive potential for this card.
For glory, honor, and gold!
This is such a good card. It is as close to direct damage as you can get and leaving something sticky on the board to boot
Card seems strong in a class with ramp (not sure what ramp is available following rotation + core set).
All generalizations are false.
Beast Druida Inc.
Seems broken at first sight..
Always rank 20/Bronze.
I mean I doubt a 6/7 with taunt that deals 7 damage to a minion can be bad, even if its limited to minions with 5 attack or less.
Great looking card. It has an interesting effect.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
Reminds me of coilfang warlord
First thought that came to mind was Coilfang Warlord which is a strong card but didn't see play since Big DH isn't a thing. I think this card will find a better home in druid who is better at ramping. I find it hard to see any big druid deck not running this.
Maybe the best Frenzy card yet.
Think it is mostly playable - a good tempo beast for Druid - whom won't have trouble ramping it up and playing early on
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I like this card quite a bit. Potentially decent board single target removal, with a solid body left to taunt your enemies to boot? Feels good, man.
A lot of potential in this card. And with Menagerie Warden coming back into the set they seem like they want to go all in on Beast Druid finally after a few failed attempts over the years.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
This is a really good card, removal and then a transformation to taunt. This will make it into a deck.
For a 7 mana minions, it's both versatile and slow. But seeing how easy Druid ramping up mana, I guess 7 mana is nothing. Will see a lot of play.
Knowledge is Power
Seems very powerful, nice highend for some sort of midrange druid deck I would think.
Basically spell Deal 7 damage to a minion and summon a 6/7 taunt for 7 mana - Firelands Portal
-=alfi=-
removal plus taunt afterwards. this might actually do the job
I wonder, if there will be an aggro-deck, wich will rush the Druid before turn 7.
maybe some big druid shenanigans but i doubt it will see play in standart
very good
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Nice! I would prefer a 5-cost minion with this effect though
Good one
Appears very potent to me, especially in arena.
I think this card is amazing!
Not losing health with a rush/taunt minion is super viable. Don't know where it will see play but it will find its time.
Well this is going to be hit with the nerf hammer pretty soon after launch.
Disclaimer: if the above is factually incorrect or complete rubbish it is definitely both intentional and comedy genius.
The only thing that stands in this cards way is its cost. It's still great value, but not being able to be pulled by Guardian Animals is a big oof. Then again, on the other hand, this is just straight up good on its own.
I wonder if we'll see some "Big Beasts" stuff for Druid this year. Like, this, Menagerie Warden, and Marsh Hydra could be part of a solid foundation for that.

Flexible, not super strong, but reliable - could see play even in constructed
with druid not having removal in the core set ,i can see this card being played almost in every deck and you can ramp up really fast to get it early.
It it doesn't die from the damage, it fully heals itself and trades 1 attack for 1 health and taunt. Now this is what I call great design.
I feel this card could make beast druid a thing on its own
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Druid of the Plains is pretty great on its own, and should be a staple of any Midrange/Ramp Beast Druid.
Kinda slow dunno
Might turn out to be an important card for Druids in Standard now that pretty much all spell-based removal from Basic and Classic rotates. Stats and effect are very strong, the only thing that can prevent it from actually being good is the speed of the meta.
I think this is going to be used a lot, so much value for 7 mana.
Looks good, mostly for arena, not sure about constructed, maybe in some new Ramp version?
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
It gets transformed into 6/7 Taunt. So N'zoth will summon that, unless it dies without Frenzy getting triggered. 6/7 Taunt is nice to get with N'zoth, but it would be better to get the 7/6 Rush that transforms. You could make some trades on your N'zoth turn.
OBLIVION!
One of my favorite Barrens cards so far. This could go into just about any Druid deck that's not already crowded with other synergies or combo cards.
Think this card will be worth playing for its effects!
Rogue DH
Good card, but don't really see it fitting into any existing druid decks. Of course these will change massively, so I do hold out hope for this card. I can really see it taking the Beast spot in some kind of N'Zoth, God of the Deep druid.
It's not as strong as Coilfang Warlord, although saying that a card isn't as strong as DH card isn't saying much. XD
It's also in a class that usually makes better usage of big cards. It does basically deal 7 damage before transforming into a 6/7. It's pretty strong in Druid, so I say it's pretty good.
About the flipside, if you are ramping it will be difficult to get into that situation for the opponent.
However in that situations you can just play other cards if you have them.
Most of the time you will be hitting a midrange minions, and that's really good.
Seems good but no place for now,
Great cards enable archetypes; they don't depend on them.
This is a great card.
Nice to clear a minion and gain a new taunt after. This will be great in Arena.
This seems like a great card. In a lot of situations, it will act like a 7 mana 6/7 with rush, taunt, divine shield, and battlecry: gain +1 attack this turn only, which would be a great card. Playing it into an empty board against a deck that you know is just going to clear it for 4 mana or less will feel bad, though.
The best Frenzy card revealed yet, even more with the amount of mana cheating druid has.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
I really like this card. It seems rather solid, if you imagine it as a removal tool (for something with less attack) then you get the taunt body on the field after. Obviously has its limitations with taunt etc, but generally a nice return to the 'shifter' feel druids have had in cards past.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
Great card removal, and if it survives you get a 6/7 w/ taunt!
As many others specified, looks good in a nzoth deck, could also be a good top end in a midrange beast, if more support to beasts is given to druid (At this point, its hard to tell)
Yes! This card is insane. This is such a good anti aggro card and I just love it so much
13/13 Rush Taunt, very strong in my opinion
Looks awesome. I like it!
Don't forget that Druid is keeping their best ramp tools, Overgrowth and Lightning Bloom. Playing this card on turn 4, for example, is huge.
Also, if you're playing this card as your beast in your N'Zoth, God of the Deep, you can actually kill it of without triggering the frenzy part to revive the rush part of the card with N'Zoth, God of the Deep.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
As long as the card doesn't die during his first attack, it essentially heals back up to full health while also getting its stats switched and gaining the taunt keyword. Too bad he's not a neutral XD
Ribbit
nice, kinda good, but won"t see play
if games would be longer it might be good other wise dust
basically a 6/7 taunt with deal 7 damage to a 5 or less attack minion. looks pretty good
Decent removal, but will it heal to 7 health when it transforms?
7 mana 6/7 taunt deals 7 seems great for any druid attempting to control the board
OP
This card is gonna be super nuts in arena and duels too
The stat spread on this card make it useful in both constructed and arena play. The one thing I find interesting, not that it'll affect Druids all that much, is that Kodo's historically haven't been Beasts. So, if there are more serious Beast synergies incoming then any buffs would be lost the moment this card is damaged.
Again, I doubt this will be an issue. If you can get a second one on board from Menagerie Warden then you're golden.
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
it could be good if dont lose the hp from the attack
Saving 7 health after attacking is crazy
2 cards for the price of 1. Great removal card
I'm not online it's just your imagination
I like the card, I think it will be played at least the first expac of the year, then it will fall of. People don't remember that at the start of the year we are starved for strong cards, and this is very strong, even if not super synergistic.
Amazing card unless you face a no minion mage or you've already cleared your opponent's board.
this is really good minion for druid and for sure will see play. great removal and tempo while protecting face. 4 star!
Pretty slow, but good control at Turn 7. Can kill any 5-damage minion at least.
I'm kind of surprised that it isn't an usual druid-druid : You know, a card without tribe and a choose one option for two beastforms. But this one is way better, with about the same flexiblity.
This is a busted op blizzard why card in arena. In standard Its definitly good, but i think its being overated for druid. It will probably slot into a deck during barrens but i have a feeling it wont be seeing play by the end of the year.
Very, very strong stabilisation tool. I dare to say, Bonemare-level strong. 7 mana is also an important slot to fill. I would play this in every Druid deck.
Wow, this is quite strong multi-situational card!
Strong card.we will see if it will be played, druid has many strong minions and sometimes they are not played.
Feels extramelly good
Smug Senior's worst nightmare
Eurgh. This already feels too strong.
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
Looks good. Will see play.
CardID or NameBADCARDNAME
I think this card would be better if it had windfury instead of the frenzy effect
It's nice to attack and then have a big defence!
For The HORDE!
Looks strong! My druid will like this.
Seems pretty fkin good to me, especially if they keep pushing Beast synergy for Druid this year.
I like this one. I think druid can make good use of this is several situations and seems like a solid beast.
Good card, AND potential for beast synergy. I will try it in Druid decks for sure.
Interesting. might be too slow, but maybe decent.
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
It's a high cost card, codicious card for big or beasts druid
An all-around strong card, especially if Druid can cheat it out a few turns earlier.
It's a cool card, I really like it. It's a lot of value and seems useful against both Aggro/Control
great 2 for 1 card
Gonna hate playing against this...
Banned for spamming.
Looks like a good one, 7 damage removal minimum that will usually leave a 6/7 taunt behind on a class that can ramp up to it? Sure! Similar in a way to Crowd Roaster, stickier, but the damage can be thwarted by a taunt. I think it'll see a lot of use, not as a meta-busting card, but an always useful utility piece.
Solid design. Can't wait to see the other druid cards
Really strong Druid card. Will see a lot of play.
This will be nerfed
Strong card in standard, I totally expect to see it being played as it allows for both clear and protection. Furthermore, it's probably broken in arena (but who cares?)
Decent card in Arena!
Good card and in my opinion is an easy auto-include in any Ramp Druid. Whenever u will trade and this card survive, u will gain an huge advantage in the early stage of the game
Pretty meh in my opinion
This is crazy strong. It's a 2 more cost Flame Lance, that also gives a 6/7 Taunt.
Mixing keywords is all kinds of fun. This will be a nice survival tool that will be satisfying to play and frustrating to see come out. I'm still not sure how Frenzy will play out but I think this will be a fun use of it.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Looks very good
gg
Solid shapeshift card. Druid fantasy check!
Crazy good in Arena
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
Broken!
Iteresting take on druid of the... cards because usually they are choose one cards.
It's different take makes me like it alot.
Even without any support it's really good. Based on Living Seed (Rank 1), we'll definitely get more big beast support, so those of you who think it doesn't fit in any deck, well, we thought the same about about Guardian Animals before they revealed Lake Thresher, Teacher's Pet and Twilight Runner.
Insanely P.
Nice card, but probably too slow to be competitive in Constructed. Good card in Arena though.
You will be the happiest little player if you randomly generate this. This card is amazingly good for control druid
strong druid card. i think will find a spot in a few decks
5 star card, no brainer.
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
Whether it is in Beast Druid, Taunt Druid, or Big/Ramp Druid, this card is going to see play somewhere. You just get so much bang for your buck with this card that it's near impossible to be left stranded.
Arena > Wild > Standard
Arena card
So this card at a base level is better than Coilfang Warlord and Marsh Hydra, in a class than has access to Overgrowth and Living Seed (Rank 1).
This card is so simple yet so strong, if it doesn't see play I don't know anything about hearthstone. It's a simple 6/7 taunt that removes a minion, but druid is always desperate for removal.
I don't think this enables beast druid in any way though, it's just going to be a strong tempo/control tool. In fact, I don't think Plaguemaw the Rotting or Menagerie Warden enable beast druid either it's just another Freeze Shaman to me, and living seed will just be played for mana cheating card draw in Guardian Animals deck. Hmm I guess you can call that beast druid, it's full of beasts after all.
Well in arena it's gonna be op
Pretty reliable,, can trade into that 5/7 demon that summons a 5/5 really well
4 Mana 7/7
For frenzy to proc it needs to survive so the card is basicaly remove 5 or less attack minion and summon a 6/7 taunt. Kinda OP in my book. Insta pick for arena.
Reaaaaly good beast, one of the better ones of this game to date
Seems like an easy add to a ramp druid deck.
This is a very good minion that can eat one enemy minion then turn into a big Taunt to fluster the rest of the enemy minions and protect your minions. I like it a lot, and especially in Menagerie Warden decks.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
decent in arena. not sure about ladder
Can trade into a 5 attack minion and then become a beefy Taunt. Looks quite strong, specially if pulled directly from the hand or deck
Great card with effect beter than deathrattle
Probably the best Frenzy non-legendary!
Love it
Watched dog play this in a Guardians deck with survival and celestial.
A very good card in general, and especially for the Taunt Druid deck. Deal 7, become a healed Taunt that sticks around for synergy? Sounds like a dream.
~ An expertly disguised dinosaur
You're always going to feel gutted when this dies without triggering the Frenzy, but as is it seems like a great card. Even if you just remove a small minion and get a 6/7 Taunt that's already done a great job.
