Ragnaros is a Protector Mercenary. They were added in the 21.4.0 Mercenaries 1st Public patch which was released on Sept. 16, 2021.

Ragnaros - Mercenary Equipment
This is the equipment you can wear on Ragnaros. Only one piece of equipment can be worn at a time. The first tier of each piece of equipment is obtained by completing achivements and tasks with additional tiers coming from Mercenary Packs or Ragnaros Coins.

Raven frost I mean Sulfuras could be nice in some PVE bounties, but if you use Ragnaros, generally you would want the +3 fire damage instead.
So he is obviously good with a fire comp, but there is more! Something I have mentioned at King Krush, repeated damage abilities could be the key to speedfarm PVE content. And Rag is the best when it comes to massacre lower-leveled opponents, or opponents who are weakened by AoE damage. "DIE, INSECTS!" can deal up to 25 damage and its slow speed (10) is actually good, because it will resolve after your other AoE abilities.
So I think that Rag will be the best when I want to farm, and I also see a lot of PVP potential in him, thanks to the strong fire ability users.
Little interrogation here: does Sulfura works from the bench? It would à game changing equipment, specially in antonidas/geddon/diablo starting team combo... giving the extra 20 hp would allow them to survive. And wipe out fighters and enemy of your choice.
Rags is the reason you build a fire comp. I can't wait. I will actually die if I have trouble finding a Ragnaros.
Ragnaros is a damage-focused Protector, when he really should just be a Caster. His only "utility" is protection from Freezing effects if he equips Sulfuras. I guess he makes up for this lack of protectiveness with sheer damage, as there is a lot here. Equip Blazing Rune for +1 Fire Damage to help out in a Fire team, with the likes of Antonidas and/or Diablo. And that's about it, really.
