What's on your Alterac Valley wishlist?
Now we've seen all the cards, what are you hoping for in your packs? What will be your day 1 crafts?
I've evolved backwards (?) to F2P again and am mainly playing Wild. Here's my wishlist:
Caria Felsoul - One day, Big Demon Hunter will be a thing and this card will probably be a part of it.
Ice Trap - This will be a staple in all Hunter decks that aren't aggro.
Mass Polymorph - I don't know in which deck I can play this yet, but it will be super fun to mess with Priests and Warlocks in Wild!
Lightforged Cariel - Handbuff Paladin was very strong and fun to play a few months ago. Maybe it can make a comeback?
Xyrella, the Devout - I'm a sucker for Deathrattles so this is a top priority card for me. I'll probably just put it into a Boar Priest deck and replace the boars with Leper Gnomes. Then again, Priest also has lots of other strong Deathrattles which can be combined with Awaken the Makers and resurrection shenanigans.
Shadowcrafter Scabbs - Bounce shenanigans are fun, Mana cheat OP.
Bru'kan of the Elements - Might find a home in Shudderwock lists.
Tamsin's Phylactery - Insert my reasoning for Xyrella here. Might be harder to make this work though.
Abominable Lieutenant - Soft Taunt due to the snowball potential. Might find a home in some big decks.
Those are the most interesting cards for me. Depending on my pack luck, I'd most of all try to toy around with Deathrattle Priest on day 1. What are your wishes and your plans?

I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Here's my wishlist:
Kurtrus, Demon-Render - Im absolutely convinced by token dhunter right now. Even so, this one can win games on its own.
Frostsaber Matriarch - I want to play midrange beast druid. Can't do that without this epic card.
Lightforged Cariel - Will be in EVERY paladin deck bar none. Don't want to miss out.
Forsaken Lieutenant - Cant play deathrattle rogue without this epic card.
Korrak the Bloodrager - Probably one of the most interesting legendaries to date. If it works as I think it might, its a card for deathrattle rogue, which Im keen to experiment.
Beaststalker Tavish - I always have a soft spot for secret hunters.
...which means Im likely not going to get any of the above. Much obliged rng gods.
I am most intrested in Kurtus, Demon Render and Ur'zhul Giant. I love decks with a clear win condition, and slamming the opponent with big minions or a big attack fits the bill.
Your face is already dead
Lightforged Cariel - Half damage to my face, all the time, and it can't be removed except through Ooze/Viper and/or my own stupidity? I'm in. Gonna have to drop Hammer of the Naaru in my N'Zoth deck...
Brasswing - Maybe it can fit in my Vanndar Stormpike + N'Zoth, God of the Deep deck.
Balinda Stonehearth - I've wanted to play Big Spell Mage ever since I (foolishly) crafted Dragoncaller Alanna. Could this expansion be what makes her...maybe not high-tier, but at least fun to play?
Xyrella, the Devout - Time to update my Awaken the Makers deck :D
Bru'kan of the Elements - RIP Kalimos, Primal Lord, one of my favorite cards.
Bearon Gla'shear - You have no idea how much I want Freeze Shaman to be fun. This is the person who put Freeze Shaman in all their custom expansions, and if the weekly card competition was Shaman-related I probably went that direction as well. Don't let it be a meme!
Tamsin's Phylactery - My Big Demonlock with N'Zoth, the Corruptor thanks you.
Rokara, the Valorous + all Frost Warrior cards - I'm so on board this hype train. I was positive Fire Warrior would be a thing before any-other school, but fuck it: Control Frost Warrior is cool (pun intended).
Xyrella, the Devout
Tamsin's Phylactery
Magister Dawngrasp
These are at the top of my list. However this set has a lot of real fun cards. All the hero cards look interesting.
I'm also excited for Freeze Shaman, I may have to save some dust to craft aMoorabi ;)
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Xyrella, the Devout because i really want to have fun with all kinds of deathrattle priest combos. This just seems really fun! she is basicly Shudderwock for deathrattles.
Tamsin's Phylactery Because Tamsin's Phylactery + Wicked Shipment into the Envoy Rustwix deathrattle sounds fun.
[insert any big spell mage stuff + Magister Dawngrasp] because i want to play that archetype, and i need it for a BIG spell CASINO mage deck in wild.
Cera'thine Fleetrunner and Contraband Stash because burgle rogue is one of my favorite archetypes in the game.
Lightforged Cariel because i want to play around with BIG paladin and N'Zoth, God of the Deep paladin.
Kurtrus, Demon-Render because it fits into nearly every DH deck ever, it's so flexible that you can't go wrong with him.
Of course i'm predicting that i will get Bearon Gla'shear, just because i pulled Moorabi at least twice. So obviously the next freeze shaman card will be one of the first legendaries i get, whether i like it or not. (I know "flawless" logic lol.)
I'm really looking forward to Alterac, so many control tools and late game strategies. I love it!
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Some strong and fun cards I might insta-craft no matter what:
Lightforged Cariel
Bru'kan of the Elements
Saidan the Scarlet
Some cards I hope to unpack for their archetype, or might craft if I open some synergetic cards:
Xyrella, the Devout
Balinda Stonehearth
Kurtrus, Demon-Render
Caria Felsoul
Other nice cards I'd love, might craft later but no priority:
Beaststalker Tavish
Shadowcrafter Scabbs
Korrak the Bloodrager
Dreadlich Tamsin
Legendaries only on this wishlist, the epics I want are those synergetic with those mentioned. I have enough dust to fill out decks with epics, but I'm more careful to craft legendaries not proven yet.
Looking at all the new cards and how I'm reacting to them, I'm realising I've been playing for too long for much of it to be interesting to me. For example, Big Pally or Big Spell Mage look cool, but they looked cool before and I still didn't play them enough for it to really matter that I owned the cards for them. Blizz can dress old decks up in different clothing, and that's great for the players who truly loved those decks before or for whom they are genuinely new, but I'm not going to get much out of it myself. Similarly there are some cards that are super cool but in a class that I know I never get on with, so I'd end up never really using them.
With that in mind, I have a very narrow wish list. I'd love all the rogue stuff, but I'll autocraft the legendaries golden anyway so that doesn't need putting on the list. All that really leaves is Freeze Shaman stuff (i.e. their whole set, although I don't care much for Bru'kan of the Elements) since that being functional would be a new experience, plus Korrak the Bloodrager so I can try it in deathrattle rogue.
That's pretty much it honestly. I'm happy to cobble together decks out of rares and commons otherwise, crafting a few things if needed. Hmm, I'm pretty sure this is a sign I should go back to F2P and only focus on rogue going forwards. Good thing I haven't pre-ordered yet then :)
I just want Big Spell Mage to work in some capacity although I doubt it (have you tried building that deck? Half of your deck doesn't become playable until turn 7).
I also want another round of buffs to some of the older archetypes that still won't work even with the new support (namely Big Demon DH. Just unnerf Priestess of Fury, you know you want to)
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
My only real wish is that whatever happens with this expansion, it's enough to kill off the popularity of these awful questlines that have just about sucked away my enjoyment of playing, especially the Mage and Warrior variants. I will definitely get Dreadlich Tamsin because I love most warlock shenanigans (outside of The Demon Seed), but really, all of the mercenary Hero cards seem like fun cards to have, and reasonably powerful. I also hope to find a Demon Hunter deck I really enjoy playing, which I've struggled with since the DH was introduced.
Can't wait to have my minions silenced, stolen, and polymorphed.
