Probably not consistent enough but damn, this can provide massive swing turns.

Sounds good on first thought. On second thought though, it seems to slow. Do you really have that much high cost spells in your hand in the late game?

The effect can be great.  The cost means that it won't see much play except in control decks.  Perhaps he will find his way in some Priest decks.  Folks tried to make Chef Nomi a thing; so why not a king?

I think this suits Big Spell Mage in wild quite nicely and it might replace Dragoncaller Alanna due to the fact, that you have to power up her battlecry first, while in King Phaoris's case you can simply play him on turn 10. Since the spells there cost 5+, you would get bigger bodies than 5/5s (although I have to admit, that those wouldn't be always guaranteed). Sadly, this archtype doesn't exist in the wild format and this would be even more obvious, when Burn Mage becomes more popular there thanks to its new tools.

In standard I think this card is more likely to appear in Casino Summon Mage than anything else - it would run Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron and Power of Creation, as well as the well known big spell AoE package (Flamestrike, Blizzard). It might not be a competitive deck, if it can't anwer giants on turn 5 or 6, but it would be fun to play.

My first thought was this could be included in Cyclone Mage, though you can't really control the mana cost of spells produced by Mana Cyclone. A strictly Big Spell Mage would be better.

Still, really cool design. I'm glad it's neutral, maybe Priest can take advantage of this as well with its high-cost board clears and resurrect cards.

Would fit control Shaman. With Hagatha's Scheme, Rain of Toads and Earthquake you should be able to summon some big minions. Big Shaman will probably not want this card, because it is a bad target for Eureka! and Muckmorpher

Yeah I think its probably decent in control shaman as you can double up on the battlecry with shudder later. Also Hagatha generating spells gives more uumpf for this card.

    Meteor and Blizzard into:

:D But to be honest, i guess you are right. This cards looks very powerful for a 10 drop and finally a nerf for Conjurer-Mage -> Sea Giant into this, need more weak Battlecry targets, but also for 12-Mana.

There is one thing this card is missing to become actually really competitive; a Taunt. Make this minion 5/5 with Taunt and that effect, and it could be worth it to build a deck around

Basically a N'Zoth-Effekt in a spell-oriented deck should have also taunt to be competetive? Nonsense. This card will see play, if there are good decks with a lot of spells, maybe even Conjurer-Mage could possible play this, because it has a lot of spells thanks to their Cyclone.

    It's....okay.

A 10-mana pile of stats has historically never been great.  If you make it to 10-mana while not having used a bunch of expensive spells in your hand, what are the chances that you absolutely need a card like this to swing the game in your favor?

You'd be summoning a board full of one-drops tho.

Very cool card. I'm interested in playing this even if it isn't the strongest thing in the meta just for style points.

What I mean: after you play Prismatic Lens you have in your hand a one mana Phaoris and a 10 mana spell, since the swapped costs. Then you can play Phaoris for one mana, and since you have a 10 mana spell in your hand now, you get a 10 mana minion on the board, and all this for a lousy 5 mana in total.

Erh no you swapped the cost first. So your spell in your hand has now 10 mana cost, and this card costs you 1 mana, and when you play it, for 1 mana you get a 10 mana minion. So after you play Prismatic Lens you have in your hand a one mana Phaoris and a 10 mana spell. Then you can play Phaoris for one mana, and since you have a 10 mana spell in your hand now, you get a 10 mana minion on the board.

Well sure, that one secret will cost ten, but the rest of your hand will be (fairly useless) one cost spells in order to make the combo work, which means overall you're getting a lot less out of it compared to a deck that just runs big spells.

A secret pally does not consider his one mana secrets useless. If you run a lot of cheap spells this minion combo's nicely with Prismatic Lens. Sure if you manage to get a hand full of big spells and still survive and then can play this at turn 10...these are a lot of if's, and will have to put a lot of late game spells in your deck and draw them as well, which is not nice since you would rather have a playable card in your hand.

I guess in that exact scenario King Phaoris would be pretty amazing. But how consistently can you get there? You need a bunch of 1mana secrets, so that prismatic lense reliably hits one, and you need few other minions so that prismatic lense reliably hits the King. And then you get a 5/5 and a 10 drop plus some 1 mana minions for 5 mana, but is that enough to swing a game? I personally doubt it, but I would not mind to be proven wrong.

It's not a N'Zoth effect at all; N'Zoth's battlecry entirely revolves around your deck, you know what cards you'll be getting back, and they're all good - some even have taunt.

Unfortunately, our new Pharaoh here doesn't have any of that. He will pull whatever he wants, and as a 10-mana bomb, he may just as well be 10 mana do nothing if he doesn't rng you through the turn. And that's not good.

So no, they're entirely different things. Also, N'Zoth not only has a better battlecry, but also - even though it's irrelevant - better stats.

Could be an addition to Big Spell Mage in Wild.  But given that you probably need to use some of those spells prior to turn 10 to stay alive, you may not get much out of it in most games.  Especially if you draw him late.

Quick!  Someone give me something clever to write here.

I think this card could realistically slot into Mage and Shaman, but I'm not sure either of those decks need this. Druid, however, I could see trying to use this.

Definitely will see play...at least in my deck :P Say you just finished the new mage quest, hero powered a couple of turns so now your hand is full of spells, and then you play this card to make use of all the high mana spells you got. Or you could remove / refill your hand the turn before with a big cyclone turn on 9. Imagine the possible swings...a new archetype: swing mage.
