  • Wild is in a terrible state

Running Savory Deviate Delight is a genius idea. I can't take advantage of it, but I will definitely pass that information along to my friends. Thank you.

  • The Secrets of Volcania - Custom Hearthstone Expansion (Finished!)

    Very cool expansion :)

  • Legends of Runeterra’s Foundations Set Fully Unlocked for Game Pass Subscribers

That is a pretty amazing deal. How does it work logistically? As long as you have the cards, your duplicates automatically turn to shards worth a fraction of the value. If you buy any bundles, the cards you own are prorated and removed. If you cancel the pass and your cards disappear, you might feel cheated because you couldn’t get those cards before…

    (Edited for spelling.)

  • Solve Our "Miraculous Murlocs of The Sunken City" Word Search Puzzle

it is very fitting to see the word rockbottom at the rock bottom of the puzzle :D

  • LarryMoments' "The Dawning Cataclysms" Custom Set - Hearthstone Fan Community Spotlight

I said this in DMs but thank you so much for this opportunity! It's the first time i've done an interview (or an FCS for that matter), and it felt great!

I'll plug in to reccomend Project Moon (and its games), seriously reccomend you guys to try them. Both of their games were on discount a while ago, but catch both of em when you see it!

  • The Dawning Cataclysms - A Custom Hearthstone Expansion (FINISHED)

So thanks to the incredible work of Demonxz, this expansion now got its own FCS!
    https://outof.cards/hearthstone/4879-larrymoments-the-dawning-cataclysms-custom-set-hearthstone-fan-community-spotlight

And with that also comes the announcement of the mini-set, Conspiracy Under the Cracks!

For more information (because I just woke up) you can check the FCS for what it's going to be about! I had a lot of fun doing the flavor for this one.

  • I'm in the Open Beta - AMA

    Quote From Nirast
    Quote From rocketfodder

What does having lived in the Philippines have to do with getting into the beta?

They just released the beta in the Philippines a few days ago

Indeed, I said Open Beta on purpose. The game is released in the Philippines region only, in Open Beta. Anyone in the Philippines who has a Google Play account set to the Philippines as their country (or presumably the same for iOS) can download and play the game. So, therefore, I've downloaded and am playing the game.

  • Weekend of Wild Hearthstone Decks - Weapon Warrior, Deathrattle Hunter, Myrmidon Libram Paladin, & More

    Pro

Thanks for the inclusion! If anyone's looking for a guide for Deathrattle Hunter, Swizard has posted an article with a nearly identical list and a detailed description of how to play the deck last week.

  • *Solved* Y'Shaarj event task #9 can't be completed (BUG)

I guess they were unable to test it because the testing team was constantly destroyed by Doppelgangsters.

  • How to Complete Y'Shaarj Mercenaries Event Task 6 "Root of the Problem" - Tips & Parties Inside

Alternative to Balinda, the root from Malfurion or the freeze from Valen might be helpful. Anything that stops actions will essentially beat her in speed because of the huge slow from Staggering Slam.

  • Co-signed. Straight to heck!

First party wipe in Normal mode. Ugh.

  • Somehow lucked out on Heroic with Holy. Second turn, usual Velen + Anduin double Nova combo.
Cornelius had the treasure to deal damage when attacked, and I used his protection ability on Anduin.
They just decided to shoot Cornelius instead, so I made it through.
I've heard Pirates make good work of them, but not many are using Pirates to climb bounties unless they have to.

They either need to nerf the speed of the ability to ~5, or it only produces one clone.

  • The Secrets of Volcania - Custom Hearthstone Expansion (Finished!)

Little update to the DH/Warrior Quest. I ended up noticing a pretty significant problem with the old design: Bulwark of Azzinoth (and thank you to BasilAnguis for first pointing this out). So the weapon has been changed to have 5 Durability, and returns to your hand upon death keeping the "indestructible" nature of the effect.

This is still quite strong with Bulwark, but it's no longer unbeatable. It can also now be soft-countered with weapon removal, but it won't get rid of the weapon permanently. One interesting interaction with this new version is that it now allows you to use Deathrattle effects from your other weapons too, which you couldn't use with the first version.

  • Wild is in a terrible state

I have decided I will try and finish around rank 300 this month, and the number of times I have lost on turn one with zero possible counterplay is absurd. Every other game is a Shaman ramping into Ancestral Call and putting out King Neptulon or Y'shaarj. Is there any counter to this?? I know I am going against one because no one is playing Freeze Shaman anymore.

I have been considering running Sap because I am playing Mine Rogue but that feels just as high rolly and I would have to give up Cloak of Shadows for it.

  • Returning Decks Signaling A Healthy Meta

    Quote From Nifty129

Just going to list a number of dead archetypes that could return and signal a possitive direction for the game

    1. Fiora Shen - Archetypal midrange pkg that plays for value and challenges and board interaction that no longer has a place in the game.

    2. Swain TF - A healthy and balanced control deck that only goes off on turn 8 and no longer has a place in the meta.

    3. YOI - Love it or hate it Tristana is a card that needs to exist in some form and be playable.

    4. Viktor Riven - The buffs to Viktor were an amazing possitive development that got killed this expansion

    5. Darkness - One for one spell and creature trading control that no longer has a place in this meta (very saj)

    6. Vlad Braum - Landmark creep is a thing and a 3 mana landmark granting your units tough and a minor stat buff just ain't it anymore

    7. Tahm Kench Soraka - these Champs are so dead they are zombified but it was a unique deck while it lasted.

    8. Banerman/Elites - Mono anything just isn't doing well right now unfortunately, and I do crave the simpler times when allegiance was a valid archetype.

    9. Kenin - What an awesome card but unfortunately Ionia is massively under represented right now along with bandle city

    10. Zigs Landmark - what a fun card with a fun play pattern, and a fun level up, and fun unique deck building

    11. Nami Fizz - Another example of a very high synergy and interesting play pattern deck just dead in the water.

    12. Shivana Fury - pretty interesting short lived archetype where you just make her as big as possible with double Fury triggers till she takes off to the sky

    13. Day break - Another high synergy midrange deck that just doesn't cut it anymore because it's too "fair" and "balanced"

    14. Kindred control - The idea of running a champ that has conditional removal as opposed to disintegrates guaranteed removal is a joke and thats the problem

    15. Renekton Overwhelm - the sands will be stained with their blood, need I say more?

    16. Gangplank Sejunai - yeah midrange plunder overstayed it's welcome but it was a unique deck that prioritized leveled Champs and it gets the win in my book

17 . Discard aggro - I don't care if it's Jinx, Draven, or Sion or Rumble it's a sad day when the 30 discard cards that exist can't be played

    18. Nasus Slay - can you imagine going for atrocity lethals in a world where vaporize exists? Yeah me neither.

    19. Asol Ramp - ramp decks that don't aim to put 20 stats in board with feel the rush are essentially useless, so why would you ever try to level Asol?

    20. TF Cassino - there is an entire collection of cards dedicated to leveling TF and playing slot bot or riptide junior that can not be played in this meta.

There we go 20 decks that are awesome, high synergy, and interesting in LOR

That will never see play again because they are too fair and balanced.

So when I say that the current meta is not great, I'm referring to the fact that the card pool for brewing is limited to about 5% right now and that's the lowest it's ever been.

    - Most of these fall out of the meta due to nerfs, some of them were never meta to begin with ( Kindred control, TF casino, Daybreak ).

    - I don't know how many card game you played before but this is a normal cycle, deck become dominant then they fall out of the meta either to nerfs or power creep and that a good thing, seeing the same decks over and over just make the game feel stale and boring, those decks had their time in spotlight, time to move on.

    - Just because some decks share a champion does not mean there is no deck diversity Lissandra/Taliyah and Taliyah/Ziggs both share a champion and are centered around landmarks, yet they play is completely different from one another, the former looks to stall until they unleash a board full of 8/8 overlwhelm and later is midrange burn hybrid.

    - Lastly you seem to confuse a deck being playable and a deck being meta, those are two different things, most of the deck on that list are perfectly playable and you can even use them in ranked to climb up till diamond, once you get there you will have to switch into a more meta deck if you want to climb further but that only a concerns for ranked played.

  • Dumb question

Ah ok, I just have to do that thing then and I'm good? Thanks!

  • Returning Decks Signaling A Healthy Meta

Typically when I see a single champ occupying 3 different decks diversity comes into question.

    Viego is over represented

    Bard is over represented

    Annie is over represented

    Illoi is over represented

What I'm not seeing is every other champ actually leveling on play in decks designed to do so.

Because leveling doesn't matter in a meta with such over performing control staples, and just the ability to put insane numbers on board.

Why would you ever want to invest 30 cards into leveling 1 card ever again.

Too bad that's kind of the only reason to play this game over any other ccg.

  • [Custom Expansion] Battle of Time Valley (Mini-Set Added)

A smaller update, the next one will be much bigger.

    New Cards

As for the names I somewhat agree, but yeah am not sure what should I do because am not good with naming things in general and if I was it's probably to late to change them all now.

  • Dumb question

Yepp I experienced the same and it seems like Riot actually forces everyone to play the first chapter.

To be fair it's mostly a tutorial 2.0 but pretty annoying

  • Dumb question

Hello there, I'm having this strange problem, and I'm probably just missing something obvious - when I log into LoR now, I'm always in that PvE content, Pathway of Champions or something, and I can't seem to figure out how to get back to the regular version of the game. What am I missing? :P

  • How to Complete Y'Shaarj Mercenaries Event Task 4 "Fight Fire with Fire" - Tips & Parties Inside

Thanks for the encouragement. I took a break, tried again (twice!) and after losing two key heroes, I got dumb lucky with the boss battle, completing the quest. Chi-Ji was MVP!

    Thanks for the guides!

  • Returning Decks Signaling A Healthy Meta

Many of the archetypes you listed weren't a thing since many expansions (Asol Ramp) or a thing ever ( tf cassino/Kindred Control) at least not in the tier deck sense.

What is interesting and what is not is very debatable (especially when I see dragons/demacia allegiance as mentions) so I can't really agree on that we would miss these decks.

That the %rate of viable archetypes HAS TO decline as there every day new archetypes form and metas simply change so that's not an Argument for diversity going down.

If you want to actually prove that diversity went downhill you have to show that the total number of viable champions/archetypes reduced and that we have in TOTAL less viable decks that before expansion.

There are without a doubt overperforming cards in the expansion and there will be nerfs for sure but to argue that deck diversity out of the sudden is gone is just hilerious to me :)
