  • Annie Is a Noxus Champion for Legends of Runeterra’s Worldwalker Expansion

Blocking Annie with a big unit is always risky because Disintegrate exists.

  • Whelp, That'll Be The Theme - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

I'll go with these three, not really sold on any of them, thoughts? (And remember, no need to comment on all of them, just your favorite is enough for me).

And since I skipped feedback last week due to personal problems, I'll give an early feedback this time.

    Demonx95
That's a nice cute card, but if I got it right, it can Discover and cast any kind of spell right? If so, this is kinda broken as it is, since cards like Immortalized in Stone, The Garden's Grace and Party Up! exists. If that is not the case and it only Discovers targeteble spells, then you should clariffy it ( And also increase the cost a bit since the highroll potencial would still be extreme).

    Linkblade
It's a good card, but there's something about it that is bothering me and I can't really tell what it is. Maybe it's the name, or the art, the wording,or the effect seens more legendary worth. I don't know, I think I'll wait to see what other people think to give a proper feedback later. Balance wise, I think it's good as it is, cards that double effects like Brann Bronzebeard and Baron Rivendare usually have decent stats, specially the class exclusives ones like Bolner Hammerbeak.

    Wailor
Pretty good callback to Murazond, the Infinite. Not really a problem of the card, but I think you would gain extra points if the art actually portray an Infintity Whelp, I don't think there's any Infinity Whelp artwork out there, but a little editing would do the trick.

    AeroJulwin
I like the idea of transforming Whelps into Drakes more, but I could see the Paladin version using the transformation effect too if you rather go by the Bronze Dragon flavour. Also I think the art could be better, the current one is kinda off the Hearthstone standards.

  • Honestly, Annie seems pretty bad.

Maybe you're right for most decks, but I don't agree if you think burn aggro isn't going to run her. In my eyes she's a 1 mana 2/2 quick attack that can't block and gives a skill trigger which synergizes with her package. All this means is that she's going to be strong at least in her own deck but won't be elsewhere. Annie's level up is also much easier to trigger than Zoe and that is why it's weaker. Tibbers isn't a strong card by its own but it gets generated for free and it's a stun with a big body. Yes, it's 6 mana but if you're running burn aggro, you will most likely be running out of cards and if you get Tibbers off you most likely won't be able to play him before turn 6. Her champ spell is also pretty strong and for a lot of champions it matters a lot.

All in all, I think she's going to be like Irelia. Kinda meh in most decks but incredible annoying to deal with in Azirelia.

  • Honestly, Annie seems pretty bad.

As a 1 mana drop she's great, 2 mana drop she's good, 3 plus, she's damn near worthless. Unlike Zoe who worked, because she had elusive. Annie doesn't. She has 2 attack that can't be buffed. Annie also has a really bad level up unlike Zoe. She summons a 6 mana 5/5 in hand. Wow, great, thanks. So Annie levels and gets 1/1 and that's it. She does nothing. She gives you an under stated card that you probably won't play because its under stated. Why doesn't she just summon him on board? Then he would be good. In hand he can be worthless in some games. There are going to be games you just can't play him, because he costs to much and doesn't do enough.

  • Why Annie Is The Best 1 Drop Since Zoe

Yeah I don't see how she's making it out of burn aggro. She's a 2/2 quick attack that can't block. Slower decks don't really want that. Tibbers is also not strong enough on his own since he's only generated once and that's if Annie survives 2-3 rounds.

Her champ spell is pretty strong though. Cheap and situational but that's exactly what you want from a champ spell. Card itself is probably not that maindeckable but idk.

  • Annie Is a Noxus Champion for Legends of Runeterra’s Worldwalker Expansion

I think it's strong but probably an overreaction. I don't see her making it outside of aggro and for a 2/2 quick attack her value would drop quite quickly when facing certain decks. Comparing her to Zoe, I'd say Zoe is stronger simply because her resource generation is gamewinning and can be slotted in more decks than Annie.

  • Annie Is a Noxus Champion for Legends of Runeterra’s Worldwalker Expansion

For what it's worth a 1 drop with 2 health is pretty much the best you can get. Removals that deal 2 often costs more than that so you're going to be up in value quite often.

I'll say that she's weak to challengers because 0 power is just a prime target but I expect that Jhin Annie would run stuns. There's 3 skill based stuns on 2 mana, I'd be surprised if one didn't make it to a list.

In a way she's like Zoe, fairly easy to remove outside of blocking but if you can't deal with it, you might just auto lose.

  • Why Annie Is The Best 1 Drop Since Zoe

Yeah the fact that she slots so well into burn aggro, but also Swain, yes there is some cute stun stuff too, but even just like being better then Catlyn in a ezreal control deck.

Means yes much like how Zoe was an absolute terror before pokey stick, Anne will require hard tecking. Mystic shot, fleet feather tracker, "gifts for renekton," single combat, avalanche "the spell not the landmark,"

Like she is what kenin used to be aka hard tech against me or complain till we get a patch. That being said as a burn card she only represents 2 dmg as a 1 drop instead of 3 but she is unblockable, soooo yeah somewhere between amazing to plz God nerf now.

  • The Pepper Thread - Share Some Good Vibes!

A Hearthstone moment that never fails to warm my heart: when my opponent has a brand new hero and is looking for any excuse to try all their new emotes.

Just happened yesterday with Paladin Finley.

  • Annie Is a Noxus Champion for Legends of Runeterra’s Worldwalker Expansion

isnt she kinda weak to removal trough? she has only 2 health and need to survive a lot of rounds to level up.

  • Why Annie Is The Best 1 Drop Since Zoe

Annie is strong, in fact very strong on her own. She also comes with the best championspell in the game handsdown.

She and her support package not only support burn but also stun archetypes so yes Annie is strong in burn but not only there. (Thinking of Annie Yasuo for example)

  • Annie Is a Noxus Champion for Legends of Runeterra’s Worldwalker Expansion

Can we just for Annie integrate a feature to rate cards with a 6th star? Like Annie and her championspell both are nuts and as most streamers pointed out: she most likely will be an improvent for countless archetypes... even non aggro ones

  • Whelp, That'll Be The Theme - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

    Alternative version

Wanted to include this for the sake of it. I liked the idea of making something like Treespeaker. I changed the effect because the transformation could be considered a sidegrade in some cases. And although Paladin has less support for it, the art shows a Bronze dragon, which I feel belong to Paladin.

  • Annie Is a Noxus Champion for Legends of Runeterra’s Worldwalker Expansion

Disintegrate is such a powerful removal spell (arguably better than vengance) and it comes also as a championspell for the proably best 1 mana champion in the game after release?!

Riot really wanted to make sure that the Jhin archetype will be tier 1 (maybe even tier 0)

The lame part is that this way there won't be much experimentation  around Jhin since Annie Jhin will be most likely the go to build.

  • Whelp, That'll Be The Theme - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

We used the same art, linkblade 😅

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

When you're playing control and finally pushed the perfect amount of board pressure to win next turn but your opponent's The Juggernaut pulled the Gorehowl Mr. Smite combo for your opponent to burst you down.

  • Why Annie Is The Best 1 Drop Since Zoe

You believe that Annie is gonna played in control? C'mon buddy we both know that she is gonna be abused in burn aggro.

  • Whelp, That'll Be The Theme - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Can't think of a better way to phrase it right now, so here goes. This is obviously supposed to be paired with Nethrandamus, but it also works for Wrathscale Naga, Blood Herald, Flanking Maneuver, etc. The idea is that it would double the procs of whatever you're running that needs something to die:

    • Neth and Blood Herald upgrade twice as fast
    • Ur'zul Giant's Cost would decrease at twice the rate
    • Feast of Souls would draw twice the number of cards
    • Flag Runner gains +2 Attack per fallen ally
    • Wrathscale Naga shoots twice
    • Flanking Maneuver produces two 4/2 Demons on the back-end

I wonder if it should cost 3, but the Whelp relies on other cards to maximize its output (and some of those cards have to die, too), so it might be fine.

Don't worry, Onyxia, we're getting right on it! Please, you have to help me, I don't know where to find any more Whelps!

Loknax is looking to please Onyxia and summon forth a whole new brood of Whelps! Let's give these little Dragons one last ride!

As always, I can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

  • Our Thoughts on the 17 Standard Card Buffs of Hearthstone's Recent Sunken City Balance Patch

Im not too worried about it being dominant. Having played it myself, there are ways to play around its gameplan, so its not completely uninteractive. The main problem is that its gameplan, when played right, encourages a certain playstyle that's simply ridiculous. The best counter to this deck is camping - Play but one or no cards per turn, and eventually warlock just can't dump their cards fast enough or their curse cards' effectiveness gets curtailed heavily. Just imagine for a second what the mirror looks like, and how stupid it looks in a tournament setting with commentators forced to dramatize turn ends because there's literally nothing else being done.

Of course, team5 can correct this by having the curse cards not affect the opponent's hand so both camping and milling are no longer possible. But doing so may make it just way too strong, and too easy to force a turn skip from the opponent. Its just one of those archetypes where the less said about it the better it is for the rest of us.

    Quote From sebomatikus

New try, no luck. Picked up assassinate (the "good" one from an elite fight) and guess which unit it hits? You guessed right, the trolley.

So, Popsicooler gains 50 attack and together with its adds, it kills Mutanus turn one. Turn two, Murky acts at Speed 8 with the divine shield, so too late to prevent the big swing from Popsi. But Murky (10 health) and Murk-Eye still live. Next turn, I actually kill Popsi but Murky and Murk-Eye go down. So Alex, Brightwing and Cookie take on the remaining adds. I manage to kill the green one but then it's only Alex against the blue one. Which of course means no chance to win anymore.

I'm not giving up but my gosh, this is a frustrating task.

Keep going, you'll get it eventually! Took me at least 10 tries (I didn't actually count).

  • Our Thoughts on the 17 Standard Card Buffs of Hearthstone's Recent Sunken City Balance Patch

With the demon hunter nerf slowing down the meta I can see your concern of a passive Warlock curse deck taking over. I still think Abyssal Wave (?) Is too weak and should of been the buff target.

Maybe making them 1 mana to discard would be wise. I've been in a spot in a few games not even having enough mana to discard them all because of Brann + battle cries and Zola.

Or moving them to trigger at end of turn. That could just kill them out right though.

It is a fine line between viable and dominant. Especially with a passive damage output like Curses it could cause problems. Blizzard definitely has their work cut out for them here.
