Turn one coin + Amalgam of the Deep, turn two Gift of N'Zoth to give it +10/+10? How it work with amalgams? Also warrior was corrupted with Y'Shaarj power and has menagerie support... a lot of flavor. Just saying.
I would totally disagree here. Yes, dredge is similar to other "predict" effect, but with the extra benefit of only effecting the bottom of your deck. This way you can not only manipulate your draw, but also get cards from your deck that you otherwise wouldn't draw in most of the games. All of the sunken cards also play perfectly with the flavor and have a unique play pattern (play a meh card, draw a really good card in the lategame or when you dredge) that wasn't in the game before.
Colossals are also much more than just "big minions". It's basically one minion that you can "weaken" by destroying parts of their bodies, which is super flavorfull. This is also supported by the fact that all of the body parts interact with the main body. Destroy the head and the rest is not big thread anymore.
I'd like to agree but Im really hoping team5 doesn't let this off simply because they sold that skin for an absurd price. The problem with nerfing around Drek'Thar is that its simply unsustainable. It really doesn't matter much what 3 drop it summons out, even a mere two spider tanks along with a 4/4 on 4 is just ridiculous.
The correct thing to do is to nerf him so he only summons one minion instead of two. This might end up killing the card, but this is just only of those situations where its close to impossible to merely lower his powerlevel. They can also opt to nerf him to 5 mana, and change the description to summon 2 minions that costs less than 4, but I doubt they'd consider it.
Or perhaps they'd just nerf him to summon only 2 spirit wolves, which will still be good, but nowhere near as good as it is now.
Highly doubt they'll nerf Drek'Thar coz then they'd need to refund players real money to whoever bought the diamond version of the card. And how on earth do you even nerf him? Changing the text to only summoning 1 minion ruins the flavor of the card coz there's 2 frost wolves and we can't change the mana cost either.
As for buffs, I'd imagine Team 5 will play it safe and buff core set cards so if they do turn out to be too good, they can nerf them again without any dust refunds.
Guys, are you ready for Mage machine gun meta from Friday, the only deck stopping mech mage is DH, so hold your horses, if the meta shark is not nerfed…
Naga mage
Quest hunter
Burn shaman
Control warrior
All counter mech mage, in addition to dh. Probably more decks but there isn't that much data at legend ranks because the deck is barely played. (And high numbers of dh are not the only reason.)
Dude Mech Mage destroys Control Warrior I have played 80 games with Mech Mage and i have around 70% win rate vs Control Warrior.
i agree quest hunter and burn shaman also beat mech mage but againts naga mage i would say its an even match (according to my data)
If you're nerfing cards to odd cost, an aggressive odd-only deck is not going to use those nerfed cards lol. Unless the card is super broken, which fel barrage is anything but.
A conditional 3 mana deal 4 damage to the enemy hero sounds terrible.

As a Wild player, I do feel that nerfs to DH for Standard will only butcher the class more. Drek'Thar does need a hit regardless of DH, but I do not advocate for nerfs to Multi-Strike nor Dreadprison Glaive. If anything, some stuff should be nerfed to Odd-Cost so that Odd Demon Hunter gets some new toys to possibly use - my best bet would be to nerf Fel Barrage to 3 Mana. Also MAYBE nerf Lady S'theno to 4 Mana or make her prioritise minions, as Odd DH doesn't really care about using multiple spells for S'Theno, and she can also do some terror in Standard.
I've beaten mech mage with many decks maybe not as consistently as DH but it's not an unbeatable deck. But i will agree it's the shark making the deck work. I could see it nerfed to 2 pings but probably not. From the depths is a much worse problem that I hope they fix.

I don't think Dredge was a bad keyword, I just don't think it was interesting enough to be an expansion's keyword. It just feels really boring compared to something like magnetic. Though, unlike magnetic, I do hope to see more Dredge.
I just think the colossal minions are boring compared to past big minions. You could replace colossal with battlecry and they would practically be the same. Without any support for the colossal keyword, they just feel like generic big minions to me. Maybe if there was a recruit effect for colossal cards? Because without the support, they feel like huge letdowns compared to building your deck around an Old God, a Loa, or even the faction leaders.
edit: Worth noting I do not think this is a bad expansion, just a boring one.
Dredge is literally the most successful keyword team5 have made, arguably since discover. Its not merely being able to drag a card from the bottom, its seeing what's at the bottom as well. As far as being unique goes, its unique for hearthstone, and that's good enough for me.
As for colossals. Well, its not mainly limited to being big. Nellie and leviathan are some of the most popular colossals, and their appeal is hardly because of stats alone.
This whole expansion felt uninspired IMO. I am not one to complain often about HS, but dredge is a incredibly un-unique idea for a set mechanic, and colossal minions are literally just big minions which have existed since the beginning of HS. Also, big minions have been a theme for expansions forever now. Look at WoTG for example. Colossal minions in particular are extra boring because they don't do anything but be big. In the past you would build around your big minions to get value from their effect.
The main reason why I think it's a bad card was because this one a legendary and one of it's only Colossal class card. Rather than having a Rush & Lifesteal only (and at random btw), I still confused as to why devs doesn't spin their head for sometime and create a better and unique Battlecry effects.
Every other classes got unique features. (except maybe Druid with Immune and armor).
7 mana 8/10 lifesteal with a 1/4, and pseudo rush with 8 healing.
That's not underpowered at 7. At 8 its weaker than every other colossal. I mean, nellie and leviathan are at 7 and for some reason this card is at 8 cost.
The main problem with behemoth has always been the absence of any reason to run it. In control/quest priest at very least its a good 7 drop that procts the quest if nothing else. And for all the shit I throw at this card its still a 8/10 lifesteal minion at the end.
I remember when Blackwater Behemoth was revealed and I called it a Ragnaros that kills itself, no one agreed with me LOL
Honestly, I think this meta is going to remain really monotonous until the mini set arrives because nothing can be buffed that would add depth to the gameplay.
I would think to actually change Blackwater Behemoth into something more logical like,
8 mana Battlecry: At the end of your turn, eat a random enemy minion, gain it's stats, and heal your hero. Personally, turning it to 7 mana still probably doesn't fix the bad aspect of that card.
I still think the main balance problem in Standard is the total cards available. Always happened in the first expansion of the year where some classes have superior cards than others, or some classes lacking spesific cards to be played. Not to mention, smaller pools of spells to discover, etc.
The only real solution was to rotate 1 expansion per 4 months, that way, the 3rd expansion of the year got more time to be played (around 8 more months),
OR releasing 2nd expansion faster, probably 2-3 weeks faster.

Also there are colossals that allow you to build a deck around. Hydralodon for big Hunter, Gaia, the Techtonic for mech mage and Nellie, the Great Thresher for pirate warrior.

Some predictions, if I may! (I'm bad at this)
Multi-Strike: Either to two mana or only granting one attack.
Drek-Thar: Maybe a burf to a three mana 2/2? Though it comes out earlier, the resulting swarm is much easier to deal with.
Dreadprison Glaive: Either to two mana or two durability.
