Nagakabouros looks flipping insane as a finisher. If he comes down and the opponent doesn't have a kill, silence, or stun immediately ready, it's just game over. And in this case, quicksand won't cut it. Opponent would have to have a minimum of 4 chump blockers to avoid dying, and all of those blockers would be toast after the attack.

I agree that Illaoi and Viego are very similar in their theme.

Both summon big bad tokens that try to overwhelm the opponent.

The huge difference however is that Viego's tokens do not really care about removal since they are repeatedly summoned ephemeral threats whereas tentacles are an all in strategy that's eaaaasy to shut down.

Most tentacle themed cards are aweful and the few that aren't would proably do best in SI builds that sacrifize the tentacles for value.

I'm not a fan of being negative but when I see that the big plan of Illaoi is supposed to be to spawn a 12 attack tentacle then... this sounds very goofy and bad of a gameplan

For my first wave of feedback.

    Wailor

Erudite of Duality is a pretty competent Common card. The Holy/Shadow flavor doesn't seem too apparent on the artwork itself, but I think the card itself works pretty well enough.

Your first version of Marine Biologist I'm going to have to rule out unfortunately. Your second and third versions however fit the prompt quite nicely and are both pretty solid cards.

Mur'gul Servants is a pretty nice flavor blend of the "watery" minion types, although Warlock doesn't have access to a lot of Nagas so it would probably be too difficult to build something really good out of it.

    Linkblade91
I like it. Pretty simple and sweet. Now that same people raise that it might be too strong, I feel like it might be, but I still like the card quite a bit.

    BasilAnguis

I guess The Class Trainer is okay? I'm not really too sure how to evaluate it. The classes that seem to be able to cast 3 different spell schools the easiest similarly don't get that much of a benefit from actually upgrading their Hero Power. Mage for instance can just Wildfire and cut out the middle-man entirely. I do also agree with what others have said about the name.

Class Trainer I don't really like because there's not much benefit for a second copy of a card that upgrades your Hero Power outside of refreshing it or just being more likely to draw the card.

True Collector will be disqualified, so I would avoid it. Even if it weren't though, I don't like the fact that it's a spell card that only has a conditional effect since spells aren't designed this way.

    AeroJulwin
I think the effect is pretty neat, but I feel the same way that others are about the flavor.

    Arkasaur

    Grim Incantations is pretty sweet.

Gift of N'Zoth is a cool effect, but I'm not sure how well it really works/fits in Priest since Priest is generally one of the least tribe-centric classes in the game. I do think it's a pretty solid idea and the art is really nice. Don't worry about R's comment because that's not how it would work. An Amalgam would just count as one tribe you haven't played yet (per my comment above).

    Neoguli
I assume the "switch to Nature" is also meant to switch the spells that trigger the draw to Arcane. If so, then that could probably be communicated on the card a bit better, but I think the card is solid.

    BloodMefist

Fin-Friendly Bronzescale is kinda hilarious. I do like the fact that the Battlecry plays into the Deathrattle, although I do worry that trying to fuse Murloc and Dragon gameplans together tends to not really work since both tribes tend to play in opposite ways. I think the name is also a bit weird.

Darkmoon Security is totally Berth, and I don't understand why they never made him into a Legendary card. I really like the effect, although I do think it's a bit weird to have both it and Barricade in the same set.

  • Illaoi Is Legends of Runeterra’s Latest Worldwalker Champion

She looks fun! Funny Viago is in the trailer cuz she has very similar vibes to him with her tentacle mechanic.

Will be interesting to see what champion and other package goes well with all this!

To be fair, you listed 2 cheap decks which is all I play in standard.

I finally managed to write some feedback:

    Demonxz95
I think I prefer Tisha Darkblight, but she seems a bit OP (especially the Holy effect). I'd probably move her to 4 or 5 Mana, adjusting the stats accordingly.

About Animal Caretaker, I think I'd move her to a class with more tribes in their core identity, like Shaman (which has Totems, Elementals and Murlocs). Finally, that name doesn't feel very appropriate for a Paladin card, but this isn't too important.

    linkblade91
I like how it makes you deckbuild very carefully, but I'd still think this is too strong: she can give you a ton of card advantage in the best case scenario, and since her effect says play and not draw, you will almost always reach it if you play her on curve without making much sacrifices. I'd probably go with a 4/4/4 statline or something similar to make her more nuanced and less OP if played on curve.

    BasilAnguis
I'd like to see weapon types added at some point, but I don't think True Collector would work until that point.

Class Trainer is fine, but I prefer the legendary version, because it's an effect you only need to trigger once. I'd make two changes to her, though:

    - Give her vanilla stats. The effect is very strong, but has a pretty hard requirement even for classes like Mage or Shaman.

    - Give her a name. I mean, instead of The Class Trainer, something like Class Trainer Mariah or Class Trainer Lana, for instance.

    AeroJulwin
A card that could very well exist in the game, but I the effect isn't very flashy and it isn't very flavorful, either.

    Arkasaur
Both are good, but I prefer Gift of N'zoth. I'm pretty sure it interacts with Amalgams like Demon said, so it's not an issue in that regard. As a minor coment, I'd definitely put it in the Darkmoon set.

    Neoguli
I really like the effect, one of my favorites so far.

As a minor comment, I think you should change the name, as I believe Council implies several people (with a member of the council being a councilman or councilwoman). So I'd go with something like Moonforest Warden (or whichever title you prefer instead of Warden).

    BloodMefist
I really like Darkmoon Security. If you're afraid of the stats, you could always make it a 2/3.

Fin-friendly Bronzescale, on the other hand, doesn't speak to me, but I don't know why.

    Priest needs a French kiss

  • Balance Changes for Standard and Battlegrounds Coming on May 19 - Nerfs and Buffs on the Way!

When did they say they would refund real money if they nerfed him ?

They're not going to refund anyone for the diamond portrait, and rightfully so, because you can't craft it with dust. The reason why they refund dust after nerfs is because you may have crafted the card right before it got nerfed and that's a feel bad moment. But if you bought diamond Drek'Thar, it's not because you lacked Drek'Thar, it's purely because of the exclusive cosmetic, which has no value in dust, and therefore can't be refunded.

  • It seems like Ben Brode will announce their new game soon

That's nice to hear. It has after all been somewhere around 4 years. Let's hope he finds success, unlike the last major publisher with the marvel license.

  • Ensemble Cast - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Two initial ideas to support arhcetypes that never really panned out. Not 100% sold on the Bronzescale effect since it sort of anti-synergizes with Murloc battlecries, but its still a neat archetype that barely got explored. Darkmoon Menagerie Warrior saw some experimentation, but never really came to fruition. Stats on Security might be a bit too large atm considering you could reasonably play 2-3 different minion types by turn 4-5, so it might need to be tuned down.

  • Balance Changes for Standard and Battlegrounds Coming on May 19 - Nerfs and Buffs on the Way!

Too much damage over the top, ignoring the board state.

Naga Demon Hunter needs nerfing to oblivion, along with Quest Hunter, they're the main culprits for either ignoring the board or it's irrelevant to them.

Quest Warrior... Quest Warrior has always been a problem as an aggro deck with infinite value. Just remove it.

Mech mage shouldn't be able to discover more sharks from all the discover cards they play.

Paladin Hero card is now super OP and needs toning down along with mech paladin.

    Kazakusan needs retiring early.

If you don't agree you play one of these low IQ decks.

  • Illaoi Is Legends of Runeterra’s Latest Worldwalker Champion

Ilaoi looks great but I still don't know what to make of this archetype yet. It doesn't help that the Spawn card range from good to atrocious.

And by comparison, the final task was easy.

I just discovered a nice little "cheat" for everyone's Task 18: Deal 450 damage to heroic bosses. You can grind Bounty One super quick and easy, then face the boss with Trigore and Deathwing and any shooter in slot 3 (I'm currently using Balinda). Backlash on turn 1, maybe throw some damage at the healer doesn't matter. Turn 1, Backlash again, shoot the boss with whoever your third merc is, then attack with Deathwing. DW deals his attack damage plus his combo, then Trigore shoots him, then the boss hits all of your mercs in reaction to being attacked, and Trigore shoots him 2 more times. I dealt over 200 damage to the poor bastard who only had 60 to start with. With a little luck, you can clear the task in 2 fights.

I do it with Vanndar and a Merc whitch can damage your own stuff. Shoot at Vanndar to get him as low on health as possible. Then use Avatar on the Boss. It may not be 200 dmg, but I combine this with the "Complete x (heroic) Bounties" task for other Mercs. So it does not matter if it takes 2,3 or 4 runs.

More than 150 dmg is guaranteed turn 3, but you could delay it right to do more damage by using the first Avatar on the blue add.

Yeah, that would be good too! I just thought about Lokholar as well. Balinda can shoot an ally with Frost Dart so you can build up Snowball to an insane amount. It would take awhile, but probably still better than grinding the whole bounty 4 or more times.

    Let's see ...

5 mana draw 2 and summon a 2/2 ? Not quite on rate but decent.

Spoiling only 1 serious card today is a big rough for a spoiler season but it is what it is I guess :/

    Quote From DragonDraena

I'm stuck at Murlocs vs Popsicooler. A team that's half Murlocs and half Dragons just isn't good enough to take these things down. Didn't get anywhere with Fire or Nature either.

I try to reduce the health of the cart first, but the damage from the rest of the bosses wipes out my team.

Gonna try Orcs next, I guess. Am I missing something?

I've been ill the last few days and wanted to start this task with a clear mind. So I delayed it until today because I heard that a lot of people have trouble with this.

I did it first try with the following comp:

    Balinda@Water Elemental (4) Skills: 5-4-3
    Geddon@Mark of .. (4) Skills: 5-5-5 (not maxed)
    Ragnaros@Blazing Rune (4) Skills: 5-5-4
    Murky@Time to Krill (3) Skills: 3-2-2
    Old Murkeye@Bubble Wand - maxed
    Mutanus@Earthen Armor (4) Skills: 5-5-5 (not maxed)

I climbed with fire. Treasures = 2x Elemental Studies, Pyroblast on Rag, Murky 2 spead faster, the other Murlocs got nothing of importance (like full belly and the 2cooldown spell to get less dmg). I picked up a Boon Fighter though giving every Fighter +10 Atk. Credits for the Murloc and equipment selection go to YT user XxDarkMatterx1 (who commented on Old Guardian)

In the Boss fight I started with all green Murlucs placing Murky in the Middle to react on t2 according to the damage. I focused Popsi and ignored the Trolley. I made sure that at least two Murlocs are protected with Divine Shield in the turn where Popsi does dmg equal to Trolley Health. I guessed wrong and lost my Mutanus. Replaced it with Balinda to keep killing the Popsi. The Frost Elemental kept the highest threat in check and the rest killed popsi. I added Rag after Murky died to kill the green and from there it was a easy.
