It didn't work when I tried it either, and I was definitely in Ranked. Not that it mattered much since I had a lot of attempts to get there in a single battlecry while doing the Fires of Zin-azshari achievement.
Unfortunately, the Under Da Sea achievement can't be completed with Azsharan Vessel because the sunken card is Cast When Drawn. I'm having quite a hard time with this achivement because most of the sunken cards are not in the meta decks anymore.
Its not like druids are hurting for mana that they can't direct the amalgam to one of the whelps. And in matches where Kazakusan isn't important they can just get a few more nagas, like Dozing Kelpkeeper or another giant easily.
The only true factor here is that they probably have to remove some of their early game to do this. Probably on the chopping block; 1x Innervate, 1x Wrath, or remove the Smothering Starfish.
Their winrate will still probably tank, dont get me wrong, but I dont think the conditions will end up removing kazakusan from druids.
To be honest, 4 dragons really isn't much considering that the current ramp druid doesn't even play kazakusan until every single threat has been removed from their game. 2x Amalgam of the Deep basically does the job, and isn't really a slouch in doing other stuff whenever you dont need kazakusan to win (aggro games, etc.) Perhaps that's why they nerfed Miracle Growth along, but not touching Scale of Onyxia or simply reverting Nourish to 6 mana means we'll likely still be seeing ramp druid unless the nerf to pirate warrior introduces more decks that can beat druid.
My guess is that they will remove the Druid of the Reefs or perhaps one Wrath from the deck and put in double amalgams and pretend that everything is still solid. Team5 should've just made it 8 dragons to seal the deal completely, because that's presumably what they designed Kazakusan to be in the first place; be the cherry on top of a dragon cake. Not a card to be included into greed decks simply because they felt like it.
But team5 does have the data and I would presume that they did their playtesting before selecting the arbitrary number of 4 as the conditions for kazakusan.
Hello again. I just looked through the Naxx and Legacy sets to gauge how much is different from August 2014. The good news is Naxx is completely unchanged after Undertaker's nerf was reverted.
For the Legacy set, Druid got hit pretty hard, so you might struggle to replicate OG Naxx experiences with that class. It's not all nerfs, as there have been a couple of buffs and a couple of nerfs were reverted (Nourish and Ancient of Lore), but I feel like 3 mana Wild Growth, Innervate for 1 mana crystal, and a completely different Force of Nature will undermine any authenticity there.
The other classes are probably close enough to where they were back then, with only Fiery War Axe feeling like a massive hit when I went through it. They're mostly a mix of nerfs, buffs, and partially reverted nerfs that put the overall power pretty close to 2014. If anything it's weaker, so the changes won't have removed the challenge. Most importantly, the tools available still essentially the same, so the problem solving aspect is unchanged.
So I'd suggest just building decks out of Naxx and Legacy cards only, and seeing how it goes. If you kept track of which cards were Hall of Fame replacements (and hence not around in 2014) then exclude them, but they're all tame enough that it won't matter much.
I just hope that the pirate quest isnt reverted when it gets to wild. Before it was nerfed the first time it was nearly unbeatable in wild. Way to many cheap pirates in wild.
as someone who has played a ton of ignite mage (including post-nerf) i would argue it was a significantly more difficult deck to counter that took less skill (albeit more than most people give it credit for) to pilot than kael'thas. furthermore, at high legend full send kael'thas decks have been dropping in winrate as more people learn how to deal with it and tech against it, with a lot of kael players switching to a kazakusan variant.
For people who like more fun games and gamble on easy ways, you can actually finish the Sivara achievement in one go in Wild. There's a card in Wild called Simulacrum - it copies lowest cost minion in your hand. It can easily make your game infinite - all you have to do now is to build an Perfect Sivara. I guess, there are variants on this, but I used for it Frost Nova and Tidestone of Golganneth. That way my deck became infinite and I could control the opponent's board for cheap.
All you need is all those spells in hand and 2 copies of Simulacrum with "empty" Sivara. You play Nova, Tidestone and Simulacrum. You gain 2 Sivaras in hand, one of which is perfect and another has 2 spells and 1 empty slot. After that you play second simulacrum and 2nd Sivara until it copies the first one - the Perfect One. After that you get rid of second Sivara - the one with one extra space and continue endlessly simulacrum the perfect Sivara, because she gives you another copy of Simulacrum :)
I think Pirate Warrior has to go to tier 3. It was fun for 2 expansions, but with mr Smite/Gorehowl still in the game it is very unsatisifying to loose against. If my opponent gets one, it feels bad.
If he get Mr Smite and Gorehowl, I have to walk outside to scream.
Is this why they made over-powered cards just a common card now, so that we can't get too much dust return? or rather it's a good thing, because we sure to have plenty of commons every time?
I still think it's bad, because although I have 8 extra cards, I still can't craft any new legendary. (Kael'thas being uncraftable)
I wonder if Druid will actually adopt a dragon package because, realistically, they would not be able to win any control matchup (not even Warlock) with just two (maybe three) waves of Giants or Ivus. Kazakusan was essential in being able to even draw as hard as do. Maybe by including dragons they have to slow down on the ramp and play a more midrange style early on, which means they don't just trubo out a Scale or Miracle Growth.

Well found the Quillboar !
Can't do it with Rogue, it has to be with Priest - the Hench Clan Shadequill is the only Quillboar I could find in the collection.
Worked a treat though.

Euhm the card is banned from wild completely...

Hello !
Sorry but I seem to be unable to complete the "Amalgam" achievement
It says there are 10 types, but I count only 9, as Quillboar is not available in Wild ?
Or am I missing something ? I've double checked and re-did all the others, just to be sure. Where is that last type ?
Dragon - Murloc - Beast - Mech - Pirate - Naga - Demon - Elemental - Totem - what is the last one ???

I got Should Have Gone for the Head using Rogue with Ambassador Faelin and Queen Azshara, lots of draw and Shadowstep. All you have to do is get Hydralodon from one of the two sources, play it, kill the heads once and then Shadowstep it and repeat. This will summon a total of 12 heads.

2x Amalgam and Onyxia is still only 3 dragons.
Removing the Druids will hurt the consistency a lot.

Why don't let us fight in Naxx with classic decks?
