As for why this over MtG: I don't follow the latter, so I can't really cover it. I will admit that I decided to write this article purely as a personal preference, also because it fit the whole Out of Carbs thing we had going.
So mono shurima is an archetype that I have experience with long before it was playable.
Here's a list of counter decks beyond the obvious, landmark removal lists.
1. Nasus slay, otk options are dangerous against mono shurima because of a lack of hard removal. So creating a champion that is 20/20 representing fast speed lethal is very dangerous back up by your own counter spell. Also quite agressive traditionally.
2. Swain represents strong removal options but also stun lock endgame with lethiathan, always a valid option he's never out of style.
3. Burn aggro, compared to the board reliant all in play styles of spiders that will struggle going into the buffed quicksand, sitting on the sidelines and slinging spells whether that's prankster ephemerals with monkeys or a more direct approach should be effective.
4. Dragons, strong challengers with cheap demacia removal will present a problem for mono shurima when they have none of their own. Then you can ramp into Asol and see what wins.
5. Rally/predict/sandman/scouts extra attack phases have always been extremely problematic for mono shurima to deal with. Just because they are a little faster now doesn't change that.
6. Deep/lasandra hard to win without a deck God emporer or no he's not immune to mill.
***the meta is changing time to change back with it, to high synergy decks with unique wincons and not just value vomit***
Here we have two decks to show you which is better against Shurima.
One is your standard value grind that is effective in the previous meta and the other is an even older school build that is fast and effective against high synergy brews should they get popular again.
Neither one is inherantly better then the other, they just serve different purposes and learning the difference will make you a better player, and you'll spend less time arguing on Twitter about buffs to weak high synergy decks.
It's niche, and only going to see play in Abyssal Curses decks. Since Abyssal curses will probably be a slow strategy that is at its best against other slow strategies, and since other slow strategies aren't likely to be doing a lot of damage to you until late in the game when that damage will stick, I can only say that the healing probably won't matter a whole lot. Abyssal curses Warlock sounds very off-meta to me. I'm sure there will be people who play it and have fun, but I'm going to guess it won't be a strong deck.
Flux did all of the work creating the functionality necessary to pull this off (the ingredients card images, recipes), so he definitely deserves most of the praise. I'm just an ideas man.
As noted in our article, they were added straight to your collection (cards) or inventory (packs). If you remember your pack count before and after, it's actually easy to tell (I had 0 Alterac Valley ones by the time of season end, so even easier). With cards, not so much if the "new cards" marker didn't catch it.
It's quite similar to what happens when your final Arena or Duels rewards screen bugs or you disconnect when accessing them - you won't get to open the individual packages and see what you got, but it all gets added correctly.
There's literally an aggro demon hunter deck out right now (prestor aggro dh) but okay
Kayn doesn't see play because there are no big taunt minions that see play. That's literally it. It's a 4 mana 3/4 that deals 3 in this meta which isn't good enough.
Just think about it. The only deck that has big taunts in this meta is libram paladin, which doesn't see play. So there's no reason for Kayn to be used.
Taunt Druid, Libram Paladin, Priest with the 6/6 heal 8,
I just said libram paladin doesn't exist, let alone priest with that elemental card, lol.
Against taunt druid demon hunter wants to win the board, not ignore it all and push 3 face damage.
It is still in Standard, but about to rotate out, because it's in Ashes of Outland... Unless they put it in Core Set 2022.
Yes, it is a decent card. It got worse over time, because of power creep in recent expansions.
My guess is that 4 mana to deal 3 damage isn't good enough anymore, the card is too slow. And there's not that many taunts, so the effect of ignoring Taunt isn't that useful.
Meanwhile, cards like:
1. Stormstrike - 3 dmg (to minions) + 3 dmg = 6 damage for 3 mana (can be more with Doomhammer...),
2. Overdraft - as a finisher, can deal for example 7 damage for 1 mana,
3. Park Panther - 4 dmg (to minions) + 3 dmg = 7 damage for 4 mana.
On HSReplays Aggro DH sits at around 50% winrate and has bad matchups against other aggro decks, so people choose something more viable in current meta.
And the decks you mentioned, are not popular enough (I think) to include "Ignore Taunt" effect.

I'd like a way to save drafts. I'm working on something that'll more time than I can dedicate to writing in one day.

Any new DCG coming?
Card game is dominated by HS and that's period. Is there anything new digital card game on a horizon? Can't find anything on Google tbh.

Do that and you'll be fine.

Neither one is inherantly better then the other, they just serve different purposes and learning the difference will make you a better player, and you'll spend less time arguing on Twitter about buffs to weak high synergy decks.
So here we have the buffed deck why is the faster high synergy burn list better then the control list.
Because they only have the following lines of play, play creatures to stall, burst speed interaction to stall, rite of the arcane, and counter spells.
None of that is great at dealing with low curve fast win cons with a burn finish.
Option 2 if you don't want to go under with high synergy, you go over with high synergy
Turbo ramp into an Asol, or obliterate their deck, or play an old fashioned war mothers is honestly to strong for them to deal with
