Well now, this is an interesting tech card that may see some play in certain metas. Obviously the Snowfall Guardian counter has been discussed but it will also be good against the new Colossal minions and even something as simple as taunt minions.
Oh dear...the other kind of mana cheating has been added to this expansion... that alone will make this minion a scary threat and with Zola the Gorgon being added to the core set, there could be a crazy OTK combo that will be found
Ok, I have Battlecry-Quest ,I have Stormwindquests-Quest. So let's go wild, I haven't been there for a while. But why has EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOTHER an anti-battlecry card in the starting hand?
This is a very cool yet scary design, due to the mana cheating it'll generate. Not to mention that it is flexible and polyvalent - this should see play
Perfectly fine in Standard only. In Wild Scabbs is the backbone of one of the fastest OTKs in the game (Pillager Rogue tends to kill around turn 5-6 with a good hand).
This makes Naga Mage look like a legit contender. They have a healthy amount of low-cost Nagas, as well as a bunch of cheap spells that are useful in a tempo scenario. The main issue will be endgame. Is Azshara going to be enough on the top-end or will we need more
nah I think that's going too far. It's a 4-mana card that needs at least 1-more mana to activate (meaning it's a great play after School Teacher) which means the earliest you can go off is at 5-mana and it requires you to have a specific set-up in hand already and even then you're not doing anything crazy for the most part, just getting out a bunch of stuff and probably discovering a spell or two. There's no endgame to this yet outside of tempo and value which is good because MAge has been focussed on killing people from hand for too long.
I highly doubt they'll print a THIRD N'Zoth this expansion considering there was one in Standard this year. My guess is that they'll keep his presence within the expansion by printing The Fish of N'Zoth instead. If they really wanted to have him they could simply add the old version back to the coreset to mix things up.
Mana cheat for both spells AND nagas? Okay that sounds very powerful. Of course you would need a bunch of draw AND nagas to continue the mana cheating, so it's a bit harder to pull off. Which is a GOOD thing. But still, we all know that playing stuff for almost free is very strong. Also i'm pretty sure School Teacher is a very good card alongside Spitelash Siren because of the 1/1 naga tokens, allowing you to cheat some mana and cast spells with them. Also this is a Epic minion, which means you can add 2 of them into your deck AND you can play 2 of these for 8 mana and play 4 or less cost nagas/spells for basically free. Still setting up a 2x Spitelash Siren might be akward, considering it will be difficult to make them both discount the same thing at the same time, because the 2nd Spitelash Siren activates the 1st, which means you need to play another Naga so both will refresh mana after casting a spell.
Let's be on the look-out for any Spell damage Nagas, because then we might see some OTKs pop up... And let's be on the look-out for a 0 mana naga, cuz that will make the 2x Spitelash Siren stuff more reliable.
I think this card will see a LOT of play, especially if they actually keep supporting nagas in future expansions, like they did with elementals. Because the more nagas there are, the stronger this card becomes.
Does this sound kind of nuts to anyone else? As long as you have cheap enough nagas and spells you can basically just go infinite (not entirely obviously, but still).
I mean, just imagine playing this, then playing Amalgam of the deep on it, then a spell, then another Naga, etc....

Guaranteed pro Esport plays with this minion
New Warlock Spell - Abyssal Wave
I would assume there's other cards that generate curses as well, or this card is garbage and won't see play

No Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate is a bit of a disappointing. If anyone wants to play it you can try adding it to control decks.

I'm so perplexed at Quicksand's change. Ezreal now makes even more sense with Shurima.

This should make leveling some Shuriman champion like Nasus and Renekton easier. I like it.

to be fair I'm still waiting for some sort of turn 4 play that makes Scabbs bonkers.

First impression: "All hell could break loose if they print some draw for the deck."
Blizzard: Crushclaw Enforcer, Gifts of Azshara
Second thought: "Welp, there goes the neighborhood..."

Maybe, or maybe it ends up like Scabbs Cutterbutter who is an appropriate comparison: crazy on paper, perfectly fine in practice.

This could make Naga spell mage actually viable.
Play a 2 cost naga play a 2 cost spell repeat.
Then they have that legendary naga that gives them 3 spells back. This deck is coming along nicely.
