Until the excess coins situation is resolved (and they've mentioned it bothers the designers, so we can expect a solution... eventually), chasing legendaries by opening packs is a losing proposition. When new content is released, open your packs until you get all the rares and epics, then hold off until the next release.
In the meanwhile, focus on maxing out 2-3 teams, based on the mercenaries that are available to you:
- Starter team: Cariel, Samuro, Xyrella
- Nature team: Malfurion (focus on Liferoot Staff), Guff, Brukhan
This looks like a pretty solid, balanced card. The relics don't seem powerful enough to break the game (other than Ring of Tides, which could lead to some shenanigans), which is a good thing. I expect this to pop up in a variety of classes.
Nice to see quick action. Was very boring seeing every game end with full golden amalgadon boards. Makes me wonder what the game would be like without tickatus buddy on FoaF and/or no dongs instead of no maexxna
I'm at Level 163. Same routine for me: I'm playing a lot of Mercenaries, only playing Standard to complete daily and weekly quests. I could've hit 165 but I failed to complete one weekly from last week.
I finally got through the Rend Blackhand bounty using the party that OldGuardian suggested: Cariel, Xyrella, Samuro, Rokara, Tavish, and Millhouse. I spent a couple of days farming coins for the mercs I needed and maxing out all of their equipment, so I was able to beat Rend easily. I'm now using the same team to blaze through Alterac Valley. I just finished the Lokholar bounty before taking a break from playing.
I still have 15 more levels to go before I can choose a Tier 2 hero skin. I'm still undecided on which one to pick between Priest, Mage, and DH. I'll cross that bridge when I get there, which should be in a couple of days!
Love the card. But we just received Kazakus with a similar effect. Would be lovely to honour such a major and powerful character with a relatively new card mechanic.
Giving Naga-cards in your deck a buff or a special gimmick.
I wonder if she have special interactions with N'zoth.
Looks powerful, very flexible and useful in a multitude of decks.
Ring is the one that'll most likely be the biggest payoff since it allows you to double up on a high value spell.
Xal'atath is good as extra burn damage. I couuld see this in Quest Hunter just for the extra lategame burn (although it might just be too slow in that deck)
Horn seems the weakest because it's too random and essentially you'd have to pay 4-mana for the Colossal which you probably can't do on the same turn meaning it's low tempo as well. Only good if you're just looking to throw stats at your opponent.
Tidestone looks like the generic good option if you have no specific plans. It's 1-mana draw 2 after all, and random spells are usually decent.

Am I the only person who's massively underwhelmed by this? It's very expensive, and lack the flexibility of Plague of Death that made that playable (plus how slow the meta was in Year of the Dragon). It's a poor replacement for Soul Mirror as well since it doesn't synergize with Seek Guidance and you can't draw it with Spirit Guide. This'll probably see play because Control Priest needs board clears, but it doesn't impress me much.
The card may seem uninteresting but it is actually quite scary. It's a cheap value option for all tribal decks, which often tend to be aggro, helping them not run out of steam. Harbor Scamp is run in Pirate Warrior, both Standard and Wild, and this card is very similar to that. Why wouldn't you run another 2 copies of it? With The Juggernaut active, you're always guaranteed another Pirate to activate the effect. A 3rd Defias Cannoneer or 2nd Mr. Smite can turn games around.
Quite a lot of health for a 3 mana murloc which is what you'd want seeing as this guy adds a Piranha Swarmer to hand each turn. Is that good though? Probably not as the Piranhas are certainly not as good as lackeys. Might see play in a murloc shaman deck, if it turns out to be playable.
The amount of people replying to this article really shows how high the popularity of Mercenaries.
That doesn't sound like a good way to messure basically anything. I'm not saying that it's the most popular mode ever, but I'm just annoyed when people try to claim that the mode is "dead". Especially for a mode that's aimed at casual mobile players who aren't represented in any forum or third party tool statistic.
Mercs still gets regular content updates and still has a average que time of 30-60sec (which sounds not that bad when you consider that pve is the main attraction) and that 5 months after launch. It has audience, it has dev support and it's here to stay, just like duels.
Wow that's a lot of stats just for having a weapon equipped. Might see play in control warrior? Tough to say, will have to wait and see what weapon options are available in the core set and we might get another one in this expansion.

You lose normal tasks if you abandon them; they are not replaced.
You can't abandon story tasks or timed event tasks. I assume the latter disappear once the event is over.

These Ancient Relics look strangely familiar.... oh wait, WoW legion expansion, they were pretty big objectives there...ah good times...

Solid midgame value card for a variety of decks, I wonder if she's strong enough to just build the entire deck around in some capacity.

Was scared that they'd ruin her. But, turned out pretty well I suppose.

Whirlpool is a New Priest Card Revealed by DawN for Voyage to the Sunken City
Hard to say, but it's situational for sure. Depending on the meta, you choose your AoE spells, which suits the most against what you are facing.
At least there's a way to destroy infinite copies of minions like Shudderwock.

Filk Skyshiv as an AOE Priest spell. Not bad. I doubt the standard meta will ever be slow enough for all the big cards Team 5 is pushing, however.
Slithering Deathscale is a New Card Revealed by Blisterguy for Voyage to the Sunken City
Felfire in the Hole! didn't see any play in a class that does want AOEs, so if this does see play it would be because of the Naga tag.

Thanks. It's so simple I really should remember it, but I always give up before I land on the right permutation.

What happens if you Abandon a normal task? Does it reroll or disappear forever?
Can you Abandon event tasks and move on to the next one? Or are these special and linear?

New Priest Spell - Switcheroo
The shenanigans that will happen in wild... best not to dwell on them, might give you nightmares.
As for standard, I don't see any minions really that would want their stats swapped, but I'm sure someone will figure out a broken combo
New Rogue Minion - Cutlass Courier
Not sold on this pirate, purely coz we don't have a pirate archetype for rogue, just imagine if this minion was printed for warrior 😓
New Shaman Spell - Scalding Geyser
Small ping damage with new mechanic keyword will definitely see play. Probably one of the better dredge cards
New Shaman Minion - Piranha Poacher
Quite a lot of health for a 3 mana murloc which is what you'd want seeing as this guy adds a Piranha Swarmer to hand each turn. Is that good though? Probably not as the Piranhas are certainly not as good as lackeys. Might see play in a murloc shaman deck, if it turns out to be playable.
