The overhaul to sets seems welcome and overdue - the idea that only some regions get a meaningful number of cards in each release was bizarre and less fun than a traditional release structure.
Jhin, and the whole concept of Runeterra Champions, seems like a repeat of the Bandle City problem. The whole point of regions is to have a focused identity with strengths and weaknesses around which you can balance your game. Bandle City really broke that by giving you access to a lot of strengths from across all regions, thus crowding out a lot of regions. Jhin's problem might not be as bad (because Jhin is limited to skill cards), but the concept of Runeterra Champions that span all regions is a balance landmine.
If i may, for the "More Dots!" achievement, in a Wild Perspective, I'd add Augmented Elekk instead of drawing opponent mechanics. They work as extra Tamsin.
Think about a long time popular racing game title almost matching a spell in the previous expansion. It is a playful change of wording, sort of. I think there is a movie with the same name as that racing game.
Salty players would probably say that the answer is not far from the truth if you ask their opinion about Blizzard as a company.
It is incredibly fun. I only started playing it to progress quests and check out the story panels, but found myself playing it way more than ranked. It's also a really fun way to learn the included champions and various game mechanics.
I'm in fact looking forward to the reset just to see how much better I am now.
Hello everyone. Inspired by one of my favorite storyline and encounter of the Book of Hero, I have made a new Duel hero, Twisted Cornelius, a Paladin / Warlock dual class hero!
Hero Power:
Legion Recruit: A great Hero Power that benefit an aggressive playstyle. The Demon created by the Hero Power also benefit from Silver Hand Recruit synergy.
Twisted Arts: A flexible Hero Power that goes great with any deck, from control / combo deck to trade off their combo pieces / removal / board clear for more situationally suitable cards to aggressive deck to smooth out their curve. If the spell doesn't have a school, the Hero Power will draw a random spell with no school. The dual class nature of the Cornelius means that you will get access to Holy, Shadow and Fel spells
Twisted Memory: A Hero Power for the more control / combo / midrange oriented decks that allow you to tutor out your midrange threat or combo pieces while also contest the board with a 2/1 Rush minion.
Treasures:
Unholy Wrath: A Treasure that allow for great removal / burst and recovery for Aggressive deck using Silver Hand Recruit / Demon synergy. The name and effect is based on the Paladin card Holy Wrath
Blessing of Father: A Treasure that allow for great buff from the 2nd Hero Power while searchable by the 3rd Hero Power. Note that if it is discarded you do not have control over which friendly minion that will be buffed. The name and effect is based on the Paladin spell Blessing of Kings
Tamsin's Perfume: A great Treasure that allow for early / mid game tempo that will get better with more cards you collect during run. This card can be searched with the second and third Hero Power.
Zealous Inquisitor: A great tempo card that will swing the board in your favor and offer great Health recovery. The name, stats and effect is a combination of Lightforged Zealot and Felsoul Inquisitor.
Corrupted Ashbringer: A card that allow you to swing your tempo as well as discount the spells you hold in your hand that you drew due to your 2nd Hero Power.
Sister Rivalry: A spell that reward aggressive board flood playstyle using Silver Hand Recruit and Demons. The Disguised will get buffed twice, meaning that each of them will have +3/+2.
How the two classes synergize with each other:
Paladin has a difficult time with board clear and board swarming. Warlock card pool would substantially help with that
Warlock has a hard time with health recovery, something Paladin excel at. They also has a hard time buffing up their minions out of removal and board clear range, something Paladin will help them with.
Regarding "Run Away, Little Girl" Shaman Achievement, Kobold Taskmaster will be an invaluable help, as it can buff your opponent's single minion on the board.
I'm stuck on the Ahune one right now. FYI: the beasts need to be actual Mercs. I beat him with Blink Fox and 2 of Tavish's bears on the field, other beast Mercs had died. It did not count.
I haven't tested this, but from watching the video it seems that when a minion gets the Envoy Rustwix deathrattle via Tamsin's Phylactery, it will shuffle cards that can be generated by the minion instead of primes. So The Lich King will shuffle Death Knight cards, while the hero powers in card form probably originate from Sir Finley Mrrgglton.
God I hope so. And I hope it's not replaced by anything either. If you aren't already you can load blizzard games without using the launcher and it's faster and easier.(except when they need to be updated ofc)
R5 Diamond is ~50% Druid for me right now. All the aggro is way more fun since there's a decent chance to beat it. T5 2x Cenarion Ward shenanigans is even worse (and more consistently reliable) than T5 Kazakusan bullshit. Once again ramp druid proves there's nothing less fun than mana cheating.
Love the list! Thoughts on -1 Aldor +1 equality? I see aldor as "soft" signle target removal, why not have a more consistent combo with City Tax/Conc/Roame/Brasswing? Or is the 3/3 body THAT relevant?
Trying Garrote out again this time. Struggling to get a win against some interesting choices. Eventually got handed a win! Guessing the opponent just saw Rogue and auto-conceded expecting to see robo bunnies from me
I think it’s some combination of: I love Wild and play the mode 95% of my time in constructed, I am nostalgic for Altruis the Outcast despite him probably not being optimal for this deck, and I have gotten a lot of mileage out of Consume Magic. Plus, Demon Hunter is so weak and underrepresented in Wild that I want to do my part and get those numbers a little bit higher.
In addition, I typically do not care very much about ladder/rank so I don’t worry too much about power levels and matchups because I’m playing for fun rather than grinding up. I have a list I run in Standard when I decide to make the jump but I am first and foremost a Wild player. It’s where my heart is.
Edit: Plus plus, this is going to be much more Wild of a deck after the upcoming rotation, so I’m just getting ahead of the times and learning the deck early!
Hey there! Very cool list. I'm playing around with something similar, and I have a few thoughts/questions on your list. The main difference being that I'm running x2 of Devouring Plague and Gift of the Naaru, which you have already mentioned you don't have. So I'll skip that and stick to the questions!
1. I'm currently running 1 Raise Dead, but I can definitively see the benefit of running two. Playing an early Bloodweaver as a must kill threat (while also corrupting our Insights) is a much safer play with x2 copies. What I am curious about is running Raise Dead with x2 Draconic Stuides. IMO this card clogs your hand with unnecessary dragons (which while you're trying to go off with with Bloodweavers, they can steal essential discounts from your other spells). If you're just looking for discounts on Kazamacus + Malygoose I think replacing Draconic Studies with literally ANY other cheap spell while you're comboing off with Bloodweavers is better.
2. Malygoose + Fortitude combo: I feel this package is lacking, especially as Maly really clogs our draw off Insight. Having Bloodweaver cost only 1 mana is ESSENTIAL to pulling off an early combo kill. Personally I'm running Auctioneer instead to repeatedly draw more cards rather than refilling my hand 1 time. I understand that Fortitude can reduce it's cost significantly, but why not play another card with a low cost WITHOUT having a conditional cost reductiion? Again, I am aware you can't run Gift of Naaru.
3. Psychic Split: Do you find this fires enough times? I personally haven't tried it, and I would love to hear your thoughts on it's inclusion. There's been times where casting a non-discounted 3 mana Gift of Luminosity is back breaking, I could only imagine a 5 cost Split. On the other hand, I have accidentally killed my 1/1s with Devouring Plague in the early learning stages of the deck, perhaps the extra stats are worth while!
Updated: Special Limited-Time Chi-Ji Event for Hearthstone Mercenaries Begins - Experienced Players, Get Ready for a Challenge
Here's a tip on the Chi-Ji healing task in case anyone is stuck on it:
1) Take Chi-Ji, Cookie and Brightwing on any easy bounty.
2) Have Cookie summon a fish, then kill the enemies.
3) The match won't end until you kill the fish (which won't attack or do anything).
4) Have your mercs punch each other in the face until they have all taken at least 34 damage and Chi-Ji's healing is boosted enough to do it
Snowpocalypse 2
Not much clue/hints discussion happening yet like we had in the past. So I will try again to fish for some hints.
Can anyone help me out with: One head is telling you that you're getting really heated up. The other is telling you to just chill out.
I will gladly return the favor.
EDIT: Yes! I finally found all of the answers. Now I will enter hibernation mode until Snowpocalypse 3.
