1 mana 2/2s have been viable in hyper-aggressive decks like Pirates. Unlike Jagged Butcher, Petricite Hound doesn't have additional upside, loses power if it takes damage, and doesn't belong to a region that supports this type of hyper-aggressive playstyle. Verdict: 1/5
As the last new cards of the Year of the Gryphon, these have the shortest Standard life span, so I'm sure Team 5 will feel comfortable pushing the power level a bit.
As long as they spread the love and don't concentrate too much madness in one class or one card, it might be fun. However, their recent attitude seems to be "release broken stuff and hurry to fix the worst offenders." As long as they are serious about the "hurry" part, I guess we can't complain too much.
I hope we get some kind of "thaw" effect that can unfreeze a frozen minion (or entire board).
Both fine points (Scholo has been too overpowered for my taste as well). The meta has been okay, though not to everybody's taste, and that's alright. Sooner or later that always changes; in a major fashion once rotation hits.
On the larger topic: it's indeed difficult to get back into Hearthstone after a longer break, and keeping up with dailies and weeklies can sometimes be asking a lot. Another improvement in the vein of duplicate protection and core set would come a long way. As for fixing things (and communicating on them), I actually feel like it takes them much faster. They've become much better at it compared to olden days. Although the client itself is a sloggy mess.
It's always been more dark red/scarlet bordering on purple, to my eye. Whitemane's staff also tends to look slightly different below the gems part. The models in World of Warcraft had some updates throughout the years.
I think I'm in the minority here, but I've really enjoyed this meta. There's a healthy mix of decks now that Rogue has been exorcised and Pirate Warrior isn't infesting everything.
Although, lord knows Scholomance Academy cannot rotate fast enough. I think I hate every single card added in that set.
More likely, we are the quieter majority. I have also found the meta pretty diverse and fun, but people who do not are much louder on the internet.
The first two of those look like fan art. (This is why Wikipedia makes such a big deal about reliable sources.)
In the screenshot from the actual game, you can see the dangly bits, which are a dead giveaway, and you can't really see the top of the staff, which is a lot different from Prestor's.

The reason they cut it from DH is that it was too restrictive for an evergreen class mechanic. They'd basically have to design every future card around the special resource forever, or at least give it constant support. I could however see it as a mechanic for an expansion cycle.
The game has become pretty stale for me. I've been engaging much more with Master Duel and I had zero previous interest or experience with Yugioh (and am terrible). Next expansion and rotation can't come soon enough!
They tried to make a new ressource (Wrath) when they prototyped various ideas for a DH class, but again came to the conclusion that it's just not worth it. So I don't think that Idea will come up again anytime soon.

I know nothing about lore, but looking up images, Lady Prestor's staff seems to have a blueish gem on it's center. Does the game change?
Also, most Whitemane images show her stuff having some air between the parts of the staff, so IDK
