The video makes a compelling argument. Basically the reason why traditional hearthstone is declining;

- Its a very old game at this point. I dont need stats to show that traditional hearthstone is losing traction and that its esport scene is close to being dead. Youtube views have also substantially declined, followed by the loss of interest of popular youtubers like disguisedtoast. Most games that aren't csgo don't really sustain its audiences through the test of time. I remember that rainbow six siege was at some point hailed as a milestone, and I simply couldn't see it go down. Same goes with pubg. And yet here we are.

- The controversies aren't a small thing. While I dont think current players can actually quit hearthstone for it, it makes it very difficult for new (young) players to want to start playing it. Given how most youngsters are given choice, and are usually more progressive than older players, why would they bother with a blizz game when there's thousands of others.

- Hearthstone is expensive to collect, to have fun in. That's a point. I don't need to reiterate what most people would be well acquainted at this point, but to put simply I've opened somewhere around 130 packs this expansion and I still only have around 1/3 of the legendaries in the set. The reason why LoR can only get better (its still trailing behind hearthstone in my opinion) is because its just easier to get into by comparison.

I kinda like bot mathematician's work to be honest. I feel that they measure their opinions well, and use whatever stats that is available to them to make a point. I don't necessarily think they are the apex in terms of statistical analysis, but they are one of very few, maybe none, that makes an attempt at a hearthstone viewpoint using stats. Besides, the presentation must take some work, and I can respect that. Youtubers like Kibler and zeddy may get more views, but its one thing to hold a camera and express your point, its quite another to make an somewhat animated show out of it.

There's another thing that in my mind speaks against this being Scarlet Monastery. We've seen our mercenaries level up, get mounts and ding 60 (hero cards), so taking on their first raid is a much better fit than going back and farming mid level dungeons. Scarlet Monastery would've been a great fit for United in Stormwind.

It’s simply a case where those cards are not on the banlist so there isn’t really a reason why they should be excluded.  No cards treat themselves as Pot of Greed, save for Pot of Greed itself.  There is no use for their effects currently, but that doesn’t mean there never could be.  While Pot of Greed is highly unlikely to be unbanned in the competitive format anytime soon (if ever), there is always the possibility that some events allow for some banned cards to be played

Yeah, that probably makes more sense story-wise. I cannot for the life of me understand why we got Saidan, though.

I wonder if we'll get another Onyxia, otherwise probably Kazakus in dragon form. While highly unlikely, it would be cool with either of them as a first neutral hero card. 

But we gotta get another Onyxia to rival Deathwing, three is a magic number! (Yes it is, it's a magic number).

Edit: Oh, there are four five Deathwings. Deathwing, Deathwing, Dragonlord Deathwing the Destroyer, Deathwing, Mad Aspect and Deathwing.

Without tough this unit is outright trash and even with tough it wouldn't be that good

You better don't play this unless you have a very specific deck needing desperately protection for it's units

The way these cards work I could see Soraka finding a way into this archetype. You also could just play this archetype with Poppy and be boring but that's for sure not what I will do

Some people suggested I try remaking Unchained Soultaker, so here are two new versions of that card, one more inline with the original version and the other a completely different effect idea.

Scrapping the weapon idea; cool as it is, I can't make it as good as I want it to be. That being said, I am extremely happy with my new version:

It has everything this prompt wants to see: digits, negative digits, and a written number. It's flavorful to Taran Zhu and the Shado-Pan being all sneaky, and I feel it's a cool play on a Devolving Missiles-type effect :)

I'm gonna put out some feedback via editing this comment; just give me a minute. Typing one-handed is a pain. Easier when you put the keyboard on your lap, and ignore the doctor's orders vis-a-vie using your right hand anyway...

Since MoP's rework of SM, Whitemane has been using Benediction, as her staff.

There's not a chance that it isn't Whitemane's staff. We also got Saidan the Scarlet in the last set, who is a Scarlet Crusade leader that has nothing to do with Alterac Valley. This is a Scarlet Monastery set. No doubt.

Realistically this most likely references Preastores staff, but it's worth noting that they ingame announcement mentioned new merc content, and that this also looks like the staff from High Inquisitor Whitemane, which was datamined when the mode launched. But there is no way they are going to introduce her to the story now...right?
