  • Our Thoughts on the New Hearthstone Duels Balance Changes - Some Treasures Much Rarer to See

I don’t know how to feel about these changes. Battle Totem could certainly be problematic when combined with damage cards (looking at you Mordresh!) but was such a fun treasure otherwise. Totem of the Dead only happened because of Death Games and Deathstrider, just ban it for Slate and let me play deathrattle rogue or priest. Disks was strong before but only felt like a problem because of Vanndar, I don’t like this change. Nerf Vanndar instead.

As for other treasures, I personally hate playing against Flame Waves and even more so Unstable Magic. It’s really not fun to just build a awesome board only for the opponent to cast a bunch of spells and turn my board into a hoard of sheep.

A passive I would like to see buffed is Elixir of Vigor, I don’t understand why they changed it when it got moved to pool 2 it felt fine with 1 costs. It was already really slow, could we at least get a middle ground and make the copies cost 2?

  • Favorite expansion/expansions?

My two favorite expansions are Knights of the Frozen Throne (yes I know) and Kobolds and Catacombs. Reasons are purely subjective, for me it is the blend of really good single player content (to this day I think KaC has the best PvE content of any expansion), backstory and new mechanics and cards (some of them were rather broken but that is another topic). Overall I tend to rate the older expansions higher, but that could just be me being nostalgic.

  • Celebrate the Lunar Year in Hearthstone - 6 Free Packs Questline, Free Card Back, Repeat Brawl, & New Skins

Now that you mention it, yes I think it did. I thought that he meant that the 6 free packs (including the golden one) were the bare minimum for a free event, which made it look really entitled considering that those are the best free event rewards yet.

Anything for free is a bonus in this game. Didnt get anything special in the packs, but they will give some dust.

I got a golden Cera'thine. Not the one I want but hey, can't complain about a golden legendary

Why is this downvoted so harshly? Did people misinterpret it?

    Grats!

I nabbed a Golden Tavish in my gold pack!  I was thinking of crafting him so I'm pretty excited.

  • No Card Adjustments Going Into New Expansion

As meisterz39 pointed out, they explicitly said they are doing balance changes with the expac launch.

This is a completely normal patch cadence. Patches every two or three weeks, alternating between bug-fix patch and balance patch. Last time was a balance patch. This time it's a bug fix patch. Next time is a balance patch + expac.

  • Favorite expansion/expansions?

The goofy and detailed stories of Hearthstone is why I love this game. It breathes so much life into the Warcraft universe.

My favorite would probably be Mean Streets. It had probably the most backstory outside of cards. We got all the newspapper stuff and a whole facebook messenger game. And it took the most liberties with WoW story.

Rise of Evil is also very good. The idea of all the Hearthstone unique characters banding together and the way Dalaran, a very popular WoW destination was portraited in this goofy way. This is the peak of what's HS bending of the Warcraft story is all about. (too bad the rest of the year was so meh)

The same reason why I also love Scholomance, just the way this magic school has been portrayed as this goofy college movie.

Ashes of Outland had a very cool looking theme aswell, the new spin of the whole Mecha-Jaraxus making an army of scrap metal and demons from the survivors of Outlands was such an unique take on future of Burning Crusade. Not to mention that it also tied in with the Boomsday Project, storywise.

Also like to mention Kobolds and Catacombs, because that one is thematically and art-wise, my most favority expansion. Every card and every Dungeon Run boss just feels so natural in the Hearthstone catalogue.

    More feedback:

Pretty cool card. Out of the possible statlines, I'd say a 5 Mana 3/6 is my favorite. Dealing 2 damage and Freezing the target (plus Elemental and Invoke additional synergies) is a pretty strong Battlecry.

Also, I'd say the artwork should be more zoomed in, even if you need to cut a bit of the wings right now.

    Demonxz95
Out of your cards, this one is my favorite so far. I'd reword it as "Summon a 3/4 Dragon for each time you've Invoked this game", as it sounds more natural to me.

    SkeithDE
I think I'm a minority here, but I actually prefer the Forked Lightning version. I don't know, zapping two enemies seems more "stormy" than buffing your minions. But again, I'm probably a minority, so you should probably go with the Storm's Wrath version.

Any Rexxar skin where he is correctly dual weilding axes is a good Rexxar skin!

    LOL no prob, cool deck

  • Celebrate the Lunar Year in Hearthstone - 6 Free Packs Questline, Free Card Back, Repeat Brawl, & New Skins

All packs were the bare minimum, including the Golden one. And they weren't even fun Commons I could use in Gold; what a waste :(

  • Lunar Blessings!

You know what? I just played DH and got offered exactly Pig, Rat and Rabbit.

  • No Card Adjustments Going Into New Expansion

I guess it all depends on how you define "going into the expansion," but Riot has explicitly said they'll be doing balance adjustments when they launch the new cards. Here's the relevant excerpt:

"This patch, we’re focusing on bug fixes to prepare for our next expansion coming in patch 3.2.0 on February 16! In addition to the new cards coming in that patch, we’ll also be doing a few balance adjustments to existing cards based on performance data & feedback we’ve received since our last batch of adjustments in patch 3.0.0."

Today this happened to me as well. I played a 7win clasual run with Drek`Thar and didint count for the achievement...

  • Hearthstone’s Duels Recent Feedback Thread Summary and Opinions - How Do You Feel About the Big Duels Update?

These unlock requirements are brutal and should be eliminated. It's a grind that just sucks the fun right out of the shiny new toys. It's frustrating for all the reasons noted: the grind, the sporadic opportunity to even select the new heroes, the sub-optimal decks required.

I'm using casual to unlock and it feelsbadman to waste so much time. It's not fun for me (or my opponent, presumably) to immediately concede my first game with an old hero just so I have the option to retire the deck and re-roll for the new heroes. Then the games aren't much fun either, as I do my best to just spam the weak deck built solely to satisfy the random requirement. Blizz, please. Please stop with this locked HP & treasure combo. At least give us all the HP choices so unlocking the treasures doesn't feel so repetitive.

  • Favorite expansion/expansions?

My favorite expansion will always be Whispers of The Old Gods, simply because it was the current expansion when I joined.

Also, does anyone else only think the reason Knights of The Frozen Throne was the most successful because of the insane amount of advertisement it had??? There was constantly new media leading up to it (Team 5 got the Lich King to go to an ice cream shop??) and I was constantly bombarded with ads.

  • Our Thoughts on the New Hearthstone Duels Balance Changes - Some Treasures Much Rarer to See

I started and finished yesterday, saw All Together Now offered in the 2nd tier, so it should have been live.

  • Our Thoughts on the New Hearthstone Duels Balance Changes - Some Treasures Much Rarer to See

Did that run start before or after patch 22.2?

I know there are more than a couple reports of achievements still not working though.

  • No Card Adjustments Going Into New Expansion

So patch 3.1 would have been an interesting time to adjust some underplayed Champs going into the new expansion.

However we didn't get that which means things are set going into the expansion on the 16th and.beyond.

Future patches post expansion will likely focus on adjusted newly released cards.

So if you were desperately waiting on a Garen or Katarina buff, that isn't happening.

So I'll see you all in 16 days.

  • Our Thoughts on the New Hearthstone Duels Balance Changes - Some Treasures Much Rarer to See

Are the achievements not still broken? Finished a run yesterday with Vandar and still got no progress. Do we have to wait till an actual patch for that fix?

  • Our Thoughts on the New Hearthstone Duels Balance Changes - Some Treasures Much Rarer to See

All necessary changes to keep the format healthy, albeit stop-gap solutions until those treasures are re-designed or removed entirely.

  • Favorite expansion/expansions?

For story I'd also pick Rise of Shadows. The Year of the Dragon was the pinnacle of Hearthstone embracing its own identity, both mechanically and thematically, and RoS was the best of the 3 for me.

It also helps that over the pandemic I have been playing as Togwaggle in a D&D campaign, and we just rounded things off by rescuing - then stealing! - a flying city. We weren't even aiming to mimic the Dalaran Heist, it just ended up that way, and it's beautiful :D

For songs, I'm probably going to lose a few points for this, but I've never liked SoU's song. I appreciate why people would like it, but it's not my kind of thing. I like Witchwood's, though it took a while to grow on me. For my favourite, I'll go for WotOG, with TGT and RR being my honourable mentions. If we expand the search to all trailers, then K&C's "The Light Candle" trailer and the Dalaran Heist trailers need a shout out. (Basically anything with Togwaggle in it is an instant winner :P)
