  • Alterac Duels Meta Update #3 - Best 12-Win Hearthstone Duels Decks for January Week 4

Tried some Battle Tactics games yesterday. It's definitely not unbeatable, bucket choices significantly dilute your good minions since you get offered absolute garbage buckets. And If you draw those garbage drops to fill your hand you end up losing in the early game and If the opponent have the board advantage you can't win back the board since there are almost no spells in the deck :D

On one of my matches I lived through 3 Mordresh with Battle Totem with thanks to Cheap rushing Moarg Artificiers and Alextrazsa's. Sadly It ended with 9 wins.

My experience with Ring of Phaseshifting was awful with Battle Tactics btw. It fills your hand with non-discountable expensive minions which you can't get rid of and end up losing.

Do we have to include the specific mercenary in the party to beat the heroic boss for unlocking their equipment? I certainly hope not, because this makes it even more difficult.

I beat heroic Ravak and the related equipment did not unlock for my Sinestra, which might be a bug? Can anyone confirm?

EDIT: Hm, I just read that it is part of the requirement to have the specific mercenary included in the party to unlock the related equipment. This sucks!

They did at least make most of them have some form of weakness to the appropriate merc. That's not really the case for Sinestra or Lokholar (heck, I got Lok'holar's elite treasure to freeze all enemies for the first turn, which was great until I realised the final boss can't be frozen...), but Wrathion's final boss has a human weakness, you fight fire with fire (or rather bleed with bleed) with Galvangar, and Drek'thar kindly provides both fire and frost damage buffs for whatever you plan to do with Balinda.

So while it made it more difficult, it wasn't poorly designed.

I hate the fact that this game makes me like playing combo decks. Adamancipators are some real menacing shit

This is why I keep refreshing.  No less than 4 new decks to give a whrill.

    Cheers!

I did it with my fire team, and focused on bursting down the cart (or whatever it's name is) first

Sorry, I know this isn't the place to ask, but where do you guys find team comps? Wanna get back into Mercs PVP again.

Edit: Thank you, you two! Did not even notice there was that feature on this site.

  • Is Roguestone No More? Top Legend Decks for All Classes in Hearthstone’s Standard Post Patch 22.2 Meta of Alterac Valley

All we know is that we wouldn't expect this seemingly innocent Wildheart Guff to be a devoted follower of the Old Gods, but evidently appearances can be greatly deceiving.

🤣This cracked me up, definitely the most apt description of Ramp druid.

The article thumbnail is pretty accurate too

  • Beat That Bounty Boss!

I think I did the normal bounties with orcs or something like that, mostly because they have a strong fighter lineup. I would also recommend to not destroy the side-switching taunt, because then the boss will only spam his "gain +50 attack and attack a random enemy" ability.

Good stuff. Meta seems pretty diverse for now, let's hope it stays that way this time.

People have been playing owl warlock again since the nerfs, that's the one deck I'm kind of missing here.

Oh and where did you get the shadow priest list from? I'd been looking for one since the nerfs but couldn't find anything.

Memnarch got legend with seedlock that included Genn and Baku.

Whitedelight reaches 'high' legend with jank like big shaman all the time.

    What's your point, exactly?

  • The Best Wild Hearthstone Decks to Finish Your Late January Ladder Climb

Oh, diamond-legend might explain it. Is there any data for top legend already?

  • Beat That Bounty Boss!

Popsicooler is a ton of stats on board, and I barely squeaked out a win with my holy damage (with lots of healing) crew. There's probably a better way to do it. Maybe more immunity?

  • Wild Alterac Combo Priest

That was such a fun deck to play with.

miced results, you will find it hard to win against control druids and warriors that tank themselves with armor, but it was a fun experience nonetheless.

    Thanks for the deck!

  • Can we talk about Mercenaries?

    Pro

    Hi everyone,

I thought it was time for an update. After playing Mercenaries daily since launch and completing daily tasks, I actually earned enough coins to craft almost all missing Mercs. Thanks to the new Training Grounds, I now have some of the best Mercs already at level 30, and even with their abilities and equipment still needing lots of upgrades, they are competitive in the Fighting Pit. I'm finally having fun in PvP (and ironically, I'm facing the AI again about a third of the time, even though I'm bringing my A-Team). As I'm sure you all know, speed manipulation is king, so my A-Team is Lich King, Diablo, Jaina, Varden, Cairne and Valeera. I'm winning most games, and they're mostly all good, close matches.

I guess that patience is required here. I bought only one bundle (the Valeera one) and I don't remember how many packs with gold (not too many though), so if you want to be mostly or totally F2P, you need to grind. EVENTUALLY, you'll get there. In the meantime, I actually find the bounties pretty fun.

Still, the mode does favor P2W: I lost badly today to someone who had a fully upgraded Lokholar. There's no way someone grinded enough coins to fully upgrade his abilities in the 5 days since he came out, right? Anyway, I'm not sure if Lokholar will turn out to be one of the better Mercs, but he schooled me because I haven't played him yet and was not familiar with his moves.

TLDR: there's light at the end of the tunnel if you want to play Mercenaries F2P and are willing to grind for it. Just enter the Fighting Pit at your own risk.

I got legend with almost that exact same list in September, October and December (didn't play on November). You can now apologise to Swizard.

  • Post-Nerf Wild

Same here, I have liked playing Shudderwock Shaman since the inception of this archetype. It is an eternal deck and hopefully remains viable forever with some ups and downs from time to time.

The Firemancer Flurgl + Toxfin board clear package heralded the big return of this deck. The latest expansion added the freeze package and now is the time to shine again.

Enjoy while it lasts until the next broken thing replaces it undoubtedly.

Still sad that most Hearthstone Wild players are so uncreative and win-centric that they simply flock to whatever is broken.

What about the people who have been playing Freeze Shaman since the beginning? It's not my problem that the archetype now finds itself doing well...I'm just playing what I find fun :/

  • Alterac Duels Meta Update #3 - Best 12-Win Hearthstone Duels Decks for January Week 4

Yes, Battle Tactics is really strong.

No, it's not unbeatable (in fact here above you can find many 12-win starting decks).

No, the whole game is definitely not cancer.

  • Power Core

I think certain card backs and hero portraits were made available for gold at the start of the Hearthstone year (April 2021).  It would have been discussed in the article regarding the patch update at the time.  If it had a separate article it likely got buried quick with all the other news coming out at the same time

When sorting Wild decks by winrate (Diamond-Legend ranks), that exact list is still the best performing Shadow Priest with relatively many games played (66+ % winrate, 1100 games). The next two Pirate based lists have 62+% WR (710 games) and 61+% WR (1100 games). Weird things are weird.

Other changes since this post was written: Pirate Warrior is now #1 and the Combo Priest overtook its Shadowy brethren. A Token Druid list also popped up to claim the top Druid spot.

  • The Best Wild Hearthstone Decks to Finish Your Late January Ladder Climb

I wouldn't call the deck weak, per se. It was better when it could farm mages but it's probably still serviceable.

I'm more so talking about the featured build. Deathrattle package over pirates? Lifedrinker and spawn of shadows?

Imagine you're a shadow priest and instead of winning on turn 4 you play a 3/3 or a 5/4. That list ain't it.
