that seems like a pipedream. You'd essentially put extra effort into beefing up a minion type that you're not going to use while also trying to cultivate another one when you could just...go Elementals and win straight up.
They still have Looter, Hoggar and Goldrubber, which will have even more support due to more Golden minions to collect. Brittlebone also solves some problems, because with the Hoggar build, you will add cards to your hand non-stop, thus getting TONS of buffs.
I feel like Menagerie got the shortest stick with the loss of Mythrax.
EDIT: Pirates may aswell turn to another Murloc-like tribe in a sense that you can easily stay on Tier 5 to scale up your units - Nosy Looter can generate tons of cards, but with Hoggar at your disposal, she will not be as necessary.
Hoggar + Peggy Brittlebone could be great, moreso if you have a hero that can generate their own cards to boot (Mukla, namely). I'm warming up to them the more I think about it, but I still agree with your original assessment.
And not only do Elementals have a Tier-4 Nomi, Nomi still exists lol
Whoaaaa I expected much but this .. I love how they cemented clear identities for the different tribes!
Also, they cut lose from most standard cards, which is obviously a natural evolution when you want to create interesting cards that fit the game mode - let alone a separate keyword.
I guess they kept Ghastcoiler because it fits the "let friendly minions die" (purposly didn't said Deathrattle because of cards like Bird Buddy) identity of the beasts rework.
The thing about Yordle champs being multi-region is that that makes sense from a flavor perspective: Yordles tend to wander and explore outside their secret city. There's nothing inherently wrong with non-Yordles being multi-region, and there might be some in the future, but it wouldn't make sense for many champions. You would be attaching a new region to a champion who has no ties to said location, purely for the gameplay side of things; possible, certainly, but it would take a meat cleaver to the cohesive flavor and storytelling of the game (and the IP in general).
From this angle, none of the champs you listed would work as multi-region cards. Especially as being part-Bandle City, as BC is hidden away from outsiders.
Wow did Pirates get the short end of the stick. Demons and Mechs got some serious lategame scaling now, Dragons now scale without Kalecgos and can now also pop Divine Shields. Meanwhile in Pirate town: well...I guess you can scale your Pirates...if you already have Hoggar...
More excited about the selected minions to be removed than the new cards themselves. So many useless and sub-par minions on that list, happy to see them go
Edit: looks like Mackerel is back on the menu boys!
This really shows just how important it is to have a vibrant local scene. The top 8/16 time and time again consists of almost exclusively Chinese and European players, because of the vibrant HCT-like Chinese scene and loads of third party events in Europe (and France specifically) like the MAX Open and the ILH Open and League. If APAC and Americas want to catch up, local tournaments really are key. I just wish Blizzard would support them more, as now many players have to choose between competing in MTQs and competing in third-party events..
Ghastcoiler's effectiveness has plummeted now that The Tide Razor and Sneed's Old Shredder are gone. There is little in the way of creating a spawn-chain anymore, and what few high-Tier Deathrattles remain have more niche usage (or you're going full-Beasts, which could be powerful).
Several interesting new cards, a temporary damage cap and an exclusive keyword. The patch looks pretty good! Unfortunately, several constructed cards who gained new life and some recognition in the mode became jobless again. They are joining Cobalt Guardian back in the dumpster. Also, Twitch won't be happy that they got rid of their precious boat! I understand that they wanted to eliminate some of the absurd amounts of damage that came out of cards like these but what about the biggest offender? Ghastcoiler? Why they allowed that to continue existing?
Not sold on Avenge: does the countdown carryover between rounds? If so that's broken, if not Tony Two-Tusk is probably terrible. Avenge (5) means most of your board is dead, or you leaned hard into Scallywags; either way, you're not getting much return on your investment at that point, and that's assuming Tony survived that long.
I am saddened at the loss of Mythrax: he was one of the few rewards for going Menagerie, and now he's dead.
Some of these seem a bit questionable but at least they're finally cutting all the useless junk. Not sure if I like the Avenge stuff seeing how it's already frustrating enough when your backline effects get randomly sniped. I guess Acolyte will be a true MVP in those builds.
Rip to the Old Gods update, they lost like..half their stuff. I guess it's just that bad.
I love the Hearthstone art style and these art contests. They add a lot of great stuff for custom cards, but are also just really fun to look at. I love pulling out my official art books every now and then to just flip through on the sofa.
The best surprise of the badlewood expansion has been its ability to give existing Champs a new lease on life as long as they are "cute" enough.
Massively opening up deck building possibilities.
I hope to see this trend continue with part two and three of the expansion and I'll name some Champs I think should feel free to go multi-region, but limited to bandle city.
Elise: once upon a time Elise was a terror an aggro staple, now she's just kind of okay. Opening her up to new decks would make sense and spiders crawl in a forest.
Braum: The thing about braum is that he's actually a good card, but he's stuck in freijord and if you're running a midrange deck you would want Ash 100% But now let's say you can run bandlecity demacia with braum that would be interesting.
Taric: another case of a potentially good card being limited in a region that doesn't really want him. The good buffs/tricks aren't in Targon but if I could use shaped stone on Taric that's cheap and powerful.
Katarina: I love Katarina unfortunately she doesn't love us back. We've long since past the days where battering ran was good enough to get her going, so let's open her up see if we can break her.
Tf: every region has draw the only prerequisite for playing this card, so there's nothing locking him to bilgewater, certainly not his power level.
Asol: That's right he's 10 mana and nigh unplayable at the moment but if you open him up he might find the stall tools necessary to get there.
Karma and Lux: I'll lump them together as expensive spell engines that have long since been outpaced. Again nothing in terms of deck building is forcing them into their respective regions.
Vlad and Garin: once again these cards are bad, and don't have specific region deck building g costs just open them up.
What do you guys think? Maybe taking bad Champs and making them multiregion is all they need to be competitive?

Arm and Champion were already the mainstays of the Taunt builds, and cards like Qiraji were not as mandatory. Too bad Security Rover is removed.

I wonder if Demon/Elemental hybrids would work, using Dazzling Ligthspawn and Nomi to buff Elementals for Demons to consume.
