  • New Warlock Card Revealed for United in Stormwind by IGN - Shady Bartender

I like this card a lot but it might be a little slow against all the op new stuff coming out.

4 mana would of been too strong though for sure. I hope this card brings zoo back.

Maybe this enables a demon zoo deck. I think it has some interaction in wild, but I'm not so sure about standard right now.

  • Burst Spells Are 25% Of The Meta

Yeah the only solution is entirely nerfing those burst speed spells. If you buff the removal all that will do is up the entire power level of the game and more importantly it would be upping the power level of very specific regions and thus leaving the region balance lopsided all over again. Buffing is fine if done when necessary but seeing power levels reduce rather than increase is usually healthier.

That said I would be shocked if they actually start nerfing all of these burst speed combat tricks since I very much don't think that Riot sees them as an issue. I would love to see that happen but I think a considerable amount of outcry would be needed and I don't think that such outcry is currently present. Some people enjoy having the game in a heavily combat trick focused state.

Any midrange deck that didn't have a draw engine will love this. As far as I'm concerned, if Voracious Reader was something like this, I wouldn't have been pissed off at the card in the first place.

Cornelius Roame is basically a better Genzo, the Shark as a neutral draw engine. And although it's worse than the aforementioned Voracious Reader  in aggro decks (even if those decks don't use Voracious Reader at all), it fits way better as a midrange option, both for the beefy body and the soft taunt.

Just what my Demons only Zoolock was missing, a Fungalmancer/Quartermaster!

Joking aside, the Tradable really helps when you haven't gotten your Demonic Assaults or just don't have a board ready in general.

    Total corruption? TOTAL POWAAAAAAAAAAH

  • New Warlock Card Revealed for United in Stormwind by IGN - Shady Bartender

Its important that this card has the tradeable keyword because otherwise its really so niche in standard that I cant really see anyone playing it.

There is a possibility of a demonlock somewhere in standard right now, and since that deck is midrange this card can slot in easily. But not being a demon itself really makes it less attractive a prospect.

Oh well, if nothing else at least you can just trade notbob for another card from your deck, easily the best thing about this card to begin with.

Good flavour for this card. For those who never played WoW, the Warlock trainers in Stormwind are hidden in the basement of a bar called the Slaughtered Lamb.

Seems a bit easy to complete as an “I win” kind of card, but that’s just m

The new 4 mana spell that summons 2 Voidwalkers would curve into this quite well

Extremely power crept Crystalweaver. Crystalweaver saw play with zoo, so if zoo is viable then it is logical this will too.

  • New Warlock Card Revealed for United in Stormwind by IGN - Shady Bartender

Feels like the most disappointing card so far just because there are no other demon or demon support cards. Hoping for something me re with demons, but not gonna expect much

  • New Neutral Minion - Varian, King of Stormwind

Effect is pretty good, however, Varian, King of Stormwind is far from an auto-include. Not only that, there's also the issue that adding non-synergistic minions to a deck just because of a battlecry might not be the most advisable thing to do (which is especially true for Divine Shielded minions, which exist in smaller numbers). So, the full scope of Varian, King of Stormwind's battlecry is more useful in classes like Paladin, where all 3 keywords exist in relative abundance, and even a possible lack of Rush is compensated by Animated Broomstick, a card that is already very splashable in minion based decks, like Paladin's).

  • Burst Spells Are 25% Of The Meta

    https://www.swimstrim.com/runeterra/decks-and-meta

Roughly 5 of the top decks on Swims site have 10 burst spells on average, meaning they consist of 25% of each of those decks.

You jam them on a quick attack unit, Zed, Sivir, Darius and then you just win games.

Its basically auto build decks, with auto play win cons that don't require sequencing or turn priority.

I had said that this was going to happen and we are very much seeing this all over ladder.

Like you could play Lee Sin which costs 5 mana and requires set up, and stuns, and delaying the opponent, or you can just accomplish the same thing faster and with less skill.

Burst tricks are becoming too powerful, too numerous, too cheap, and too brain dead.

I dont know what the solution is, I had guessed that it was mana reductions for removal but it might just be nerfs to burst spells.

  • New Neutral Minion - Cornelius Roame

    Pro

That's a really strong draw engine. I guess the main reason your run Tiny Toys is to get 4 chances to evolve into this guy.

  • New Neutral Minion - Elwynn Boar

    Pro

Love it love it love it. Totally trash and useless card, but I love it. Yes, I will absolutely play this until I get to kill someone with the Sword. I'm thinking Wild.

  • New Neutral Minion - Varian, King of Stormwind

    Pro

Yeah, I'm game for this. As long as you don't draw all your other minions first, this will make an immediate impact on the board and also draw you 3 resources. He's expensive, but worth it.

  • New Warrior Minion - Shiver Their Timbers!

    Pro

Could bring Pirate Warrior back into standard, but not really. Pirate Warrior was always an aggro deck, so this hypothetical new standard Pirate Warrior would be more tempo/control based.

In Wild, of course, this will fit nicely into old aggro Pirate Warrior decks that love cheap ways to remove taunts.

  • New Warrior Minion - Lothar

    Pro

Great card, nice reuseable beat-stick. If you have Rokara on board, he'll grow even more.

  • New Shaman Spell - Overdraft

    Pro

This card is insane! Unlocking overloaded crystals hasn't been seen in standard in a long time, and this can also remove a minion or go face. And it only costs 1 mana! And it's Tradeable!

So the range of 5 cost minions can be great like Ras Frostwhisper, or terrible like Blood Herald. It's an interesting card, that might be play in a more control or evolve archetype. Hard to evaluate till we still the rest of Shaman's arsenal this expansion.

I came here looking for a comment just like yours ; what's the (5) drop pool looking like at this time of the year?
Thanks for preemptively answering my future questions :)

Same here! I mean, this card is primarily going to be used for Evolve shenanigans, but knowing the 5-drop pool affects whether you just play it on curve or when you don't have a better option.

I'll be waiting for the Wild meme video where someone gets 2 Feugens and 2 Stalaggs!

I've actually been slowly trying to make a Murloc expansion so this I've got a few ideas

    1. Tinyfin uses existing art, and you're heavily zoomed in (which is noticeable in the pixelation of the artwork). Not everyone will complain, but some will (like myself). The effect is interesting, though; I will give it that.
    2. Gillidari Avenger seems fine, and wins my vote by default. "Attack" should be capitalized; that's my only gripe.
    3. Mushfin is the second coming of Coldlight Oracle, and...No. Just...no. It was removed from Standard for a reason, and I don't want to see another of its ilk ever.
    4. Losing Mana Crystals is more of a Warlock thing, and-is the art for Mana Murloc.
