  • Hearthstone's Liv Breeden and Cora Georgiou Discuss New Expansion, Battlegrounds, and Priest - Full Interview Recap

I agree with the devs. Interacting with the game for the quest rewards (as opposed to them triggering automatically) makes them more fun. It does make the quest lines much more weaker which seems like what you are caught up on. Something doesn't have to be super powerful to be fun in HS, which is one of the things I love about this game.

There is also no need to call the devs stupid.

  • Locked Gauntlet?

I’ve been playing one, maybe two years now. Just shortly after it was released. I normally can access the gauntlets no problem, but it’s being weird this tim

  • Hearthstone's Liv Breeden and Cora Georgiou Discuss New Expansion, Battlegrounds, and Priest - Full Interview Recap

We actually started with the concept of Questlines ending with a passive effect so things like [Varden's] permanent Spell Damage +3 for the rest of the game, but there wasn't enough impact to them. You wanted to play those cards and feel like you did the thing, rather than just have the quest turn over and go "yup, we did it". Going from Uldum where quest completion made your hero power change… that's a cool moment, but there's something really special about the original quests where I played the [reward] card and now we're in the second half of the game. The stakes are different now

WTF? How can these developers be so stupid? Do they really think that having to pay 5 more mana for the reward and a flat body is more "fun"? (a reward that in the case of mages is useless, slow and super complicated to achieve, by the way)

  • Post Expansion Meta

Killing Echo isn’t the problem. Hell killing him a second time in a round often isn’t a problem but I don’t have an answer for the third time I have to kill Echo and company in the same round

  • New Mage Spell - Sorcerer's Gambit

I will try to be as clear as possible: this card is horrible and unplayable, it's an insult.

The requirement to complete the "quest" is strenuous: play 3 arcane spells, 3 fire spells, and 3 frost spells in an specific order. And the reward? Pathetic: an incredible amount of +3 spell damage!

First of all, that reward isn't that great (you can already get Spell Damage +2 from a common minion nowadays for only 2 mana). Besides, currently in standard, there aren't enough direct damage spells benefiting from that bonus to finish off your opponent. Or, is there any other use for that spell power bonus?

In addition, the quest would be directly impossible to complete if you try to save some specific spells to benefit from the spell damage bonus of the reward... and needless to say that, by the time you completed the quest, you surely have already cast many of the spells in your deck so, how you make those +3 spell damage profitable then? The payoff simply does not worth it and it's too SLOW.

On the other hand, it is curious that now this quest encourages us to use spells from different schools, when precisely in the last expansion, we were urged to do the opposite (focus on only one of them, like Frost).

Another funny thing: the very stupid game developers thought that having to pay ANOTHER 5 mana for getting the reward (and a basic body without taunt, without charge or any other passive effect, something that is very useful) was better than getting the reward outright:

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Lot of other minions have guns in the game...

  • Tier 2 Decks That Perform Like Top Tier

    Quote From VaBeZ

The meta is still young, "everything is competitive" now. But hopefully, after a couple of weeks, we'll still have a diverse and tight field. :)

For example, I'm curious which architype will be "the Ezreal Deck" this time. Noxus, Bilgewater, and maybe Ionia is in Battle for him.

I think it could be time for Ezreal Bilgewater to rise up. They got a bunch more interesting stuff this set alongside some buffs. Line 'Em Up is a pretty good slot in and Redfin Hammersnout could actually work just for early removal.

Ezreal Draven is probably still playable. Rummage nerf didn't hit as hard because Time Trick just replaces it but the Tri-beam Improbulator nerf definitely hurts the deck a lot.

Ezreal Freljord would be funny if Elnuks made a return but I don't see it happening, but the Teemo Ezreal version probably just works as well as before.

I've been trying out Ezreal Zilean since Zilean came out and honestly I've liked it since. It's currently doing well but this is just a repeat scenario of last time where I'm just fighting a bunch of unrefined decks and winning because of it. Maybe this time it'll continue the streak...

  • New Warrior Spell - Heavy Plate

Unless agrro becomes really common and really aggresive this won't see any play for control warriors.

  • New Hunter Spell - Ramming Mount

The downside I see is that if you need the extra 2 damage you would get for getting your enchanted minion killed you can't since it makes it inmune, so you couldn't Restless Mummy something. Still really solid.

  • Weekend Wild Hearthstone Decks - Dungar OTK Warlock, Odd Resurrect Priest, Highlander Mage, and More!

UPDATE: Dungar goes dormant after completing one Battlecry.  So even with Brann you can't get double Battlecry out of him.   Should have expected that.

  • Locked Gauntlet?

The gauntlet is locked because of a bug.

  • Locked Gauntlet?

Has anyone else run into an issue where they cannot access the gauntlet? In my UI it is all faded out, and when I click on it it says I have to play more challenges and quests.

  • Weekend Wild Hearthstone Decks - Dungar OTK Warlock, Odd Resurrect Priest, Highlander Mage, and More!

Has anyone tested Brann + Dungar?  I assume it works as long as you pick the same flight path, but feel like it would break the game if you picked two different paths.  Or the other possibility: Pick Westfall and then Plaguelands, Dungar awakens in 2 turns but gets the Westfall and Plaguelands effect!

But no, they would have play tested for a Brann scenario to avoid such madness… right?

  • Hearthstone's Liv Breeden and Cora Georgiou Discuss New Expansion, Battlegrounds, and Priest - Full Interview Recap

What are you talking about? They recognise that Priest is not in the position that they wanted it to be, and that's why they are creating a complete new archetype that wants to make Priest more proactive and less reactive/generate infinite resources through the game.

The 99% of the fanbase is not against Priest, stop telling lies.

To say that they do not see the problem with Priest and that they won't do nothing about it is a lie. Blizzard should not balance a class because you hate it or not.

Aaaaaand that's all i needed to know/ i'lll be skipping the expansion.  its clear to see they don't think Priest is a problem,  devs putting their fancies above 99% of community feedback yet again.  starting to think they just don't want to deal with the logistics of balance. hope the game dies, doesn't deserve the fanbase it has

  • Hearthstone's Liv Breeden and Cora Georgiou Discuss New Expansion, Battlegrounds, and Priest - Full Interview Recap

If they're looking at building a rogue deck that doesnt rely on the miracles of Field Contact, it'll likely be either stealth or deathrattles. If team5 are real brave with their design choices it'll be spell rogue, now wouldn't that be a sight?

The quest would be like, play 5 spells in a row, up to three times and you'll get scabbs: until the end of the game, discover a random spell from other classes at the start of your turn.

But more likely it'll be something to do with stealth, there's just so many stealth related cards right now it just makes sense.

  • Hearthstone's Liv Breeden and Cora Georgiou Discuss New Expansion, Battlegrounds, and Priest - Full Interview Recap

why is that? The wording indicates it and it's not the first time they put a cap on something to stop it from going infinite (remember when Shudderwock was "nerfed" to 20 battlecries only. What's stopping them from going "you can only generate x amount of cards each turn/game and anything above that will fizzle?

I don't want that either, but there's absolutely precedent for this.

  • New Neutral Minion - Flightmaster Dungar

If you can time this with the completion of the Warlock questline, this should be all the healing that deck needs to survive. No ideas about the other 2 options, but 12 is a lot of damage, and I'm sure you can play some spell damage while you wait. Though not too early, otherwise it will just be removed.
