Vapos knows how to bug out the game :/ the AI cast Polymorph: Boar on the fissure minion and now the game is stuck and another fissure doesn't spawn :(
Edit: Can we also point out that Baby Kodo has such a cute factor, I want one!
Loving that Cho card. Balanced, cool effect and absolutely fits the flavour of the original. How can anybody even compete against MathU!
Also, I really like that GunspireGunnerKass decided to add the multi-targeting to their core set. Seeing as how we finally got it into the game after 7 years through Vol'jin in Battlegrounds, I expect it to be something we'll see in constructed soon as well.
The Kangor's Apprentice change I get. It's quite underwhelming so I hope that it finds a spot a Tier 5.
The Captain Flat Tusk nerf surprises me. Was the card that good? It was useful in specific situations but it didn't feel too powerful. Is there any explanation to why the card is nerfed?
Unfortunately it seems most people just aren't interested in this type of fun, but are instead much more interested in the "smashing my face in by turn six" kind of fun. Ah, well...
If you're playing control, and aren't priest, then sadly there's very little you can do but hope they don't get their curve for Skull of Gul'dan, Death Speaker Blackthorn, and Illidari Inquisitor. After that, pray that they don't discover Felosophy or are playing the late game deathrattle deck. Basically, you're playing a very bad matchup is what I'm trying to say.
On the question of whether to crack the boars or to leave them be, that will depend very much on the number of cards your opponent has in hand, but in most cases its better to simply kill the boar because nearly all outcomes will result in you taking 3 damage anyway. But if you're playing for tempo its pretty much a guessing game, very much dependent on your handreading skills.
Midway into designing a new card in case Agor wasn't allowed, I actually just then realized that cards had to be minions. So, uh, here's a new card for you guys.
I experienced the Archdruid Naralex bug earlier today when a mage got a copy of mine from Mirror Entity. Pleasant surprise! I still lost though. Unpleasant surprise!
I have no problems with the ban currently, but I would like it much more if they changed how paying health for cards and immunity works together instead of completely changing the card when it rotates in 2 years.
I'm mostly fine with the Stealer of Souls ban. I only play Wild and Duels, and taken by itself, I really don't mind a new card being banned in Wild. It's just like it was never added.
The problem I have is that the mini-set was announced just days before it was released, and it takes something like 4 weeks of completing 13,000 xp of quests per week to earn 2000 gold, so I am still trying to save up enough gold to buy the mini-set. As a result, I'm not going to be able to play with this card in Wild before it is banned, which is a bit of a bummer. I would still be totally ok with it if not for the fact that there is an achievement based on it! As soon as I saw the announcement of this ban last week, I gave up on the idea of being able to get the achievement in the intended way in Wild, so I put together a deck based on getting the achievement with Cho'gall instead, only to find that casting a warlock spell after playing Cho'gall doesn't give credit toward the achievement like you would expect! Incidentally, it also doesn't ramp up Lesser Amethyst Spellstone like you would expect.
Oh well. I'll just have to see about putting Stealer in a Duels deck, I guess. I'm not interested enough in the achievement to play Standard just so that I can get it.
And for anyone still wanting to play Mecha’thun Warlock, there is still a combo with Shadowhunter Vol’jin that worked pretty well prior to Wailing Caverns release. With the right draws it could be done as early as turn 9, or 8 with The Coin. Hemet to kill the 3 or less cards after you have a 0 cost minion in hand. With the deck empty and the only minions in your hand being Vol’jin, Mecha’thun, and one or more 0 cost minions you play the 0 cost minion(s), Vol’jin one of your 0cost guys to pull your only remaining minion, Mecha’thun, then Cataclysm! No stealer required!
It will be harder against aggro because it takes at least 2-3 more turns to get there, but it still works! It might also be faster than the Dollmaster combo but I really don’t remember.
Use Brukan's hp and save up on your clears until you can clearly swing the board. Its not really tough, since your minions are clearly bigger than theirs. Don't need to rush with the board clears, they have no burst against you anyway.
Bru'kan all the way until Mutanus, where Varden's does better.
I mean, you just look at Rokara (+1+1, taunt) and the even more laughable Tamsin (3 less to random spell). Is there really a choice here? Brukan's does 2 damage plus +2 spell power, which can come in clutch with clearing boards.
The Stealer ban is something I personally am fine with. I wasn’t really facing decks with it often, and both when I faced it and when I played it, I felt the animation times and unlucky draws kept it from being super consistent. I had many opponents lose because they drew the Illusionist too late to really go off, and then I just killed them next turn. But that said, the interaction was definitely problematic with all cards essentially becoming free, and getting easy wins when drawing certain cards early in the animations.
So yeah, a Wild ban while keeping it in the current form for the sake of Standard is fine. I don’t think it’s a super powerful card in Standard, but they plan ahead right? Warlock may have more draw planned in the next expansion, or expansion 3 for this year. So changing the card to fit Wild might kill it in Standard, ruining any planned Standard synergy from upcoming sets.
Can’t wait to see what Stealer turns into in April 2023! My guess is something like “At the end of your turn, draw a card. It costs health instead of mana.” or “Battlecry: The next X cards youdraw cost health instead of mana.” Another option is keep the same effect, raise the cost and stats. But with things like Skull and Voidcaller the cost increase doesn’t really solve anything so maybe a battlecry or change to the effect limiting how many cards can get their cost converted to HP
the first banning of a card in constructed format. interesting. I really like it to be honest. Doesn't disrupt the card in standard and just removes the problem completely from wild. I also like that theyre acknowledging that it should be done sparingly.

I don't play casual, Standard is my fun area. Sometimes Wild when I've already reached the rank I was aiming for that season.
Celestial said they're aware of the fact that Nozdormu Day needs some advertising in game on Twitter :)

You can just craft it now if you dont have it, since you'll get a refund when the patch goes live tomorrow.
Of course, that's just one day. But that's still doable, assuming you hustle for it.
