I would take what @Modalko said a step further, and argue that most of the time the player's timing is a bigger contributing factor to passive-aggression than the emotes themselves. While there are definitely some heroes that couldn't sound genuine if they tried, and the intonation of the 'wow' emote is often purposely filled with sarcasm, there are also many that sound fine on their own and are only interpreted as passive-aggressive by association with years of players using them at the 'wrong' time.
I will always argue that the worst part of any card game is the players: just as Spikes produce a meta on ladder that grossly over-represents a tiny fraction of what Hearthstone can be, passive-aggressive uses of emotes make us forget honest uses exist. The cards themselves don't force metas to arise; it is the way players (and Spikes in particular) choose to use them. Nevertheless, we act like Hearthstone is the meta, and we likewise respond to emotes based on their most common uses, even if they aren't inherently like that.
Regarding complex emotes like Nightslayer Valeera's "What is sharper- your wits or your blades?", I agree with you there. It is something that has become frustrating as they have added more and more skins, all trying to have unique ways of saying things. The 'greetings' and 'well played' emotes have been most affected by it (the 'threaten' emote is complex by it's very nature so I am ignoring any trend there), and often you have to stop and interpret what they have said just to draw the link.
I guess the intent behind "What is sharper- your wits or your blades?" is that Valeera is used to very sharp weapons, so comparing the opponent's wits to that is a compliment. I.e. she's saying they have a sharp mind. That works fine against a rogue, warrior or DH, but falls down a bit against classes that aren't known for using sharp blades. It could be an outright insult to paladins who mostly use laughably blunt hammers.
The one that annoys me most though is Illidan's greetings (especially as it is on a basic hero portrait): "Evil draws close." That is not a greetings. A greetings is something said specifically to someone else. I don't mind if it is friendly or patronising, but muttering "Evil draws close" under your breath is not a substitute for saying hello. It doesn't even make sense against the large number of heroes who are not evil, even from Illidan's perspective. Grumpy and misguided(?) as he is, he was never actually of the belief that the usual 'good guys' of Azeroth are evil. To him they are just unwilling to make necessary sacrifices.
Are free packs not given on specialist weekends ? I ve got them for watching the other formats but not on both specialist broadcasts. I haven't found any information about it. Can anyone assist me ?
Guys, you are all so wonderful, didn´t expect to see such thoughtful and kind responses :) Luckily I have both Keywarden Ivory and Shadowjeweler Hanar. So glad I don´t need to craft any of the epics after all. Kudos to all of you for the tips and huge thanks to RangDipkin for his exhausting list of cards, doing the hard work for me :) I´ll try to play against the Rogue first and see how it goes. Thanks!
Edit: OMG guys, it worked on the first try! On my very first turn I´ve discovered Potion of Illusion from Hallucination and next I´ve discovered Bamboozle from Venomous Scorpid. Didn´t expect it to go so smooth. You guys rock! :D
Not sure if this has synergies that make it broken.
Seems pretty neat, although it potentially does a lot more than Elise the Enlightened does for 1 less mana. Conversely, your deck would now have duplicates, disabling other Highlander cards like Zephrys the Great and kind of undermining the deck's "flavor".
Ultimately not sure how to grade it. Love the art and the name, though.
The main disadvantage I see over Elise the Enlightened is that Elise is pseudo-draw, giving you a card advantage of 5-4 if you use her properly. Meanwhile, Kon'na "doesn't do anything" right away.
Maybe I overvalued card advantage, which might not be all that relevant in this case.
First idea, I hope it's not too close to grumpymonk's.
This is meant to support the Big Demon Hunter archetype that never really took off. Alandien is one of the three Demon Hunter teachers in charge of training new adepts in WoW. She was the first known female Demon Hunter in-game. [I had initially used Kor'vas Bloodthorn for this card, but Blizzard has made her a real card in the meantime.]
I just signed up for premium, and while I see the charge on my Paypal, it hung on the "return to site" on Paypal's side and I don't seem to have premium status on the site.

I agree Irelia is very strong to the point she is shaping the current meta but your report is already outdated
The decks that have the highest winrate right now at top ranks are control decks just like you predicted it would be: Aurelion Sol, followed by Thresh/Nasus, Soraka/Than and only then Irelia
Why are the emotes so passive-aggressive? I can't well play with half the heroes I have because they all sound so patronizing. What is worse is that sometimes you can't tell what kind of emote is being used by the opponent (or vice versa) because none of them sound like the original emotes (Ex: Nightslayer Valeera's well played is 'What is sharper- your wits or your blades?")
I did all three Hunter, Druid and Warrior, but now I´m stuck at Rogue, cause I didn´t check the cards first and now I´ve found out that I´m missing two key epics: Potion of Illusion and Bamboozle. Now I´m having a dilemma - is it worth to craft them in order to complete the puzzle and get the cardback? I don´t play the Rogue class at all, Potion of Illusion might be worth a craft, but I´m not really convinced to use 400 dust for Bamboozle. I was thinking about putting dicovering cards in the quest deck to find them, but it could take ages to get them that way. Might as well wait if I open them in packs? Does anyone know it I could possibly open the two in recent Year of the Phoenix packs? :/
Edit - Sorry for some of the duplicate info; I was too slow looking up cards, haha XD
Both cards are from sets released in the Year of the Phoenix so you should have a chance at them. However, IIRC, an epic is only guaranteed every 10 packs so the odds probably aren't in your favor.
Personally, I'd go the Discover route depending on your collection. Keep in mind that you can build a Wild deck so you have quite a few options.
In the rare case you have Keywarden Ivory, your odds of getting Potion of Illusion are pretty good. You could also roll the dice with a bunch of secrets if you have Shadowjeweler Hanar. There are a number of cards that will generate random Legendary minions which would give you a shot at these two, but they're probably not worth it if you have some of the cards listed below...
And then there are all of the cards that can bounce your spell generating battlecry minions back to your hand
picking hunter class as your opponent make pool wider for finding Bamboozle as well because Hunter has those secret finding cards like Secret Plan and Mystery Winner.
Caria Felsoul was given the Aldrachi Warblades by Kil'jaeden in lore, so why not have her teach your hero its ability? In a highlander deck, there isn't enough consistency to be very aggressive or to use combos, so the focus is on survivability to help outvalue the opponent.
Anduin Lothar can help warrior close out a game and find tools that they need to compsensate for the lack of card consistency.

That seems like a cool idea, getting around the weakness of a highlander deck by turning it into a non-highlander deck. I do the appreciate the idea of supporting rogue decks that aren't aggro or combo, though I can't think of a good home to put it into right now. The anti-synergy with other highlander cards is something to consider, as many highlander decks do run multiple "no-duplicates" cards. Also, I wonder if it could be worded as "duplicate your deck", like how Elise the Enlightened "duplicates your hand".
linkblade91
This seems really overcosted as a highlander card. A 6 mana 3/3 weapon is quite bad, and it requires both highlander and running enough rush minions in a shaman deck to capitilize on the effect. My gut says 4 mana is where I would think about building around it.
Hi there, Nifty back to introduce everyone to a healthy dose of down to earth meta statistics and a happy analysis of what they mean.
1. Azir, Irela the new hotness with a 20% percent play rate and a 56% winrate. Is it good yes absolutely, is it op not based on the numbers as of yet, pirate aggro and spider aggro do just as well. However if it becomes oppressive Riot should look at it in 2 - 3 weeks.
2. Midrange is an okay answer to aggro we typically see things like dragons, vlad, and swain doing okay early on into an unstable meta not because it's optimal but because it's flexible.
3. Control is not doing well again this is typical TF was nerfed and aggro was pushed and the lists have yet to adjust to changing circumstances like the prevalence of extra attack phases.
4. Combo fringe lists will do well early on as outliers but these too will fissle out. For example Swim has a massive 70 winrate with flurry of fists...except when everyone tries it it will go sub 40% percent in aggregate like Lee Sin decks.
Expect things to solidify in the comming weeks when everyone remembers that healing exists along with easy answers for 3 mana Champs like culling strike.
Long term prediction is that a control list will rise to the top and start putting aggro in its place, it's just not as easy as copy paste TF/Aphelios anymore and that's okay.
I just hit level 133 today, a thirdway until the end of the current Rewards Track 🏁
I chose Felravager Illidan as my second T2 hero reward. It certainly is not one of my favorite hero portraits but should get plenty usage until I finally reach a 1000 Demon Hunter wins (next year maybe).
The third hero portrait will definitely be Dragonstalker Rexxar, because he looks absolutely amazing with that awesome shiny golden Dragon armor.ROAR!!🐲

It's more similar to the current version, since you get the usable crystal on turn 4. The difference is when you use the card.
Congrats, MathU! Very creative effect and a very flavorful one too.

I'm more bothered by how many players use them. Not everyone, but in general:
'Wow/well played' seems to mean: I'm salty because of your lucky topdecks/RNG
'Thanks' seems only to be used at the end of the game in a 'thanks, for the free win noob'
'Greetings' seems to mean: I drew the nuts and will crush you
Strangely enough, 'threaten' seems the funniest, mostly used by players who are about to lose as a way to say "I'll get you next time!''
